Hiking in the Carpathians in autumn – September, October
Often the weather in September is even more stable than in summer months. Stable means less rain and more sunshine. That's what we want, right? Definitely, September is a great month for hiking in the Carpathians, and if you didn't manage to go in summer, be sure to go in early autumn. The closer you get to winter, the colder it is. In October, you should stock up on really warm clothes, because at night frosts are possible. You probably noticed that we included November to the winter months?
Carpathians in winter – November, December, January, February and March.
Surprised that we referred the whole five months to winter? This is for a reason. From November, it gets cold in the mountains and snow is most likely to fall. In some areas snow may lie until June, but in April it gets noticeably warmer, and you can see the onset of spring: the first flowers bloom, snow begins to melt and babbling brooks.

Winter hikes are a separate story, and we recommend that only experienced hikers take part in them. For beginners, we have developed programs with accommodation in huts, skiing/boarding and radial mountain trips. Scenery in winter is absolutely unique, it is completely different from the summer ones, and you should definitely see it with your own eyes!
