During the cold season in the Carpathian Mountains operates a climbing school of the club Kuluar. This program is designed for people who have already passed the school of initial level and/or participated in ascents on "classic" peaks (Mont Blanc, Kazbek), and want to strengthen their knowledge and skills before more complex projects (Matterhorn, Ama Dablam and other technical peaks).
The second level of the school is the next step in the training of the technically competent climber. At this program you will have an opportunity not only to try yourself on more difficult relief with real work in bundles during ascending and descending, but also to model non-standard situations which can arise on the route and to work out algorithms of actions for their solution.
If you want to be really ready for big plans which you make for the coming season then you have to be well prepared in advance! Our school is designed to do just that!
We do not cancel or reschedule groups. If the manager has given permission to buy a ticket, you can buy it with confidence. There will be no cancellation through our fault.
Training from the best guides-instructors of the Kuluar club (this program employs instructors who have extensive experience as a guide, climbing peaks of any complexity, many of them also graduated from mountaineering instructor school, or trained in certified schools guides)
Consultation, communication and support of experienced guides and managers in preparation for the program. Theoretical sessions at the end of the day - drawing conclusions, pointing out important points to strengthen the skills learned, preparing for the next day. The teamleader will meet you at the train station of Ivano-Frankovsk, and with him you will travel to the mountains in a previously ordered comfortable transport.
The program was revised several times, we tried to make it as safe, comfortable and informative as possible. The program includes 3 days of practice on snow and rock slopes of varying degrees of complexity, always work in a small group (a maximum of 3 people per instructor, to quickly and effectively explain and reinforce the material).

The group meets in Ivano-Frankovsk at the railway station. We take a booked transfer to the venue. In the winter, access to the hut is not always possible, so it is likely that you will have to walk about 4 km. We don't have any camping equipment, so you will have to carry only your personal things.
After settling in we do short field exercises. We repeat the nuances of the group moving in a bundle and refresh our basic knowledge about moving in the crampons, self holding. In the evening dinner. After that theoretical studies on the topics of the next day: work with fixed elements, stations and positioning on them, phases of the group movement on the multilope route, organization of the descent.
Early rise today. A real practice climb on one of the peaks near the hut awaits us. The presence of rocky ridges in the area allows us to get as close as possible to the real conditions of climbing in the big mountains. We will work on the ascent in conjunction with the organization of insurance, and then the descent. During the ascent we will make technical stops and sort out the nuances of the stations and movements "live". In the evening we are going to have dinner. Theoretical studies.
Today is an early ascent again. We're going to discuss non-standard situations that may happen to a participant on the route, and algorithms for solving these problems (common problems on the descent and ascent, the basics of crevasse rescue techniques, etc.). We will work it all off. In the afternoon we leave the hut and head for the transfer. Departure to Ivano-Frankivsk.
If the participants of the school is one group, and all wish to cover the above topics in more detail and/or conduct more training climbs, it is possible to increase the program for 1-2 days. Write to our managers.
The main difference between winter programs and summer hikes in the Carpathians is more severe weather. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the choice of quality equipment. Physically training will last all day in the mountains in the snow. For preparation we recommend running or cross-country skiing (of course, if there is enough snow).
Depending on the weather conditions, condition and general wishes of the group the guide has the right to make changes in the program. Following the teamleader's instructions is compulsory and not subject to discussion.
To participate in the hike you must be free of diseases that are not compatible with active tourism: the list here.
As always, we recommend that you buy tickets in advance, although there are often vacant seats on trains a week before the start of the hike. The ticket "there" should be bought so as to be at the railway station of Ivano-Frankivsk by 8 a.m. on the day of the start of the hike. A slight delay is acceptable. Back you buy a ticket for the evening, best of all for 20-22 hours. Buy tickets is worth it only after our confirmation of your participation in the hike, you can do it at the ticket offices of the railway station or online on the website Ukrzaliznytsi.
The meeting place of the group is the waiting room of the Ivano-Frankovsk railway station. The time is determined by the last arriving participant, usually it's 9 am. About 5-7 days before the hike we will send you an email with the exact time of the meeting and contacts of the team leader. Don't forget to check your mail.
Accommodation during the program in a cozy mountain hut. Rooms for 3-6 people with beds, electricity, showers, hot water, heating. You can sleep in your own sleeping bag or with your own bed, or with an additional fee to take a bed on the spot.
We will eat at the cabin either on our own (there is a kitchen and all the conditions), or for an additional fee it is possible to order meals on the spot.
Good weather conditions are one of the most important factors in a successful class. Depending on the weather conditions, the program may change. What matters most is the health and safety of the group.

The total amount of obligatory additional expenses not included in the price will be 0 UAH.
There are also optional expenses. The participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and like to dine in a restaurant (for example, in the legendary "Ten"). Minimum recommend to take from 300 UAH. And the maximum is up to you.
