The school of mountaineering in the Carpathians with the ascent to the Shpytsi is designed for people who have already passed initial level and/or participated in ascents on "classic" peaks (Mont Blanc, Kazbek), and want to strengthen their knowledge and skills before more complex projects (Matterhorn, Ama Dablam and other technical peaks).
The second level of the school is the next step in the training of the technically competent climber. At this program, you will have an opportunity not only to try yourself on more difficult relief with real work in bundles during ascending and descending, but also to model non-standard situations which can arise on the route and to work out algorithms of actions for their solution.
After the second-level school, you'll have really interesting technical climbs:

We do not cancel or reschedule groups. If the consultant has given permission to buy a ticket, you can buy it with confidence. There will be no cancellation through our fault.
To ensure the highest quality of work, the ratio of participants to leaders is 4 to 1. This will allow for the most effective transfer and, accordingly, obtaining valuable knowledge
Consultation, communication and support of experienced teamleaders and consultants in preparation for the program. The group will meet at 35 Mykhailo Mulyk Street, near the Gorgany store. This is near the train station, and we will send all the detailed instructions in a pre-hike email and a group chat closer to the date of the hike.
The program was revised several times, we tried to make it as safe, comfortable and informative as possible. The program includes 3 days of practice on snow and rock slopes of varying degrees of complexity, always work in a small group (a maximum of 4 people per instructor, to quickly and effectively explain and reinforce the material).

The group meets at 35 Mykhailo Mulyk Street, near the Gorgany store. We will take a booked transfer to our base - the Gadzhin shelter. In winter, transportation to the hut is not always possible, so it is likely that we will have to walk about 4 km. Fortunately, we don't have any backpacking equipment, and you will only need to carry your personal belongings.
After settling in, we conduct short field classes. We repeat the nuances of moving in a group and refresh our basic knowledge of moving in circles, self-delay. In the evening we have dinner. Afterwards, we have theoretical classes on the topics of the next day: working with the embedded elements, stations and positioning on them, phases of the group's movement on a multi-rope route, organization of the descent.
Today we have an early start. We will have a real training climb to one of the peaks near the hut. The presence of rocky ridges in the area allows us to bring the conditions as close as possible to the real conditions of climbing in the big mountains. We will practice the ascent in conjunction with the organization of insurance, and then the descent. During the ascent we will make technical stops and analyze the nuances of stations or movement "live".
After returning to the hut, we will have dinner and order vats or a bathhouse (at the group's choice) to relax after a hard day's work.
Today it's an early start again. We will analyze non-standard situations that can happen to a participant on the route and algorithms for solving these problems (common problems on the way down and up, the basics of rescue techniques from cracks, etc.) We will practice all this. In the afternoon we leave the hut and head to the transfer. Departure to Ivano-Frankivsk.
The main difference between winter programs and summer hikes in the Carpathians is more severe weather. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the choice of quality equipment. Physically training will last all day in the mountains in the snow. For preparation we recommend running or cross-country skiing (of course, if there is enough snow).

We live during the program in a cozy mountain hut. Rooms for 3-6 people with beds, electricity, shower, hot water, heating. You can sleep in your own sleeping bag or with your own bedding, or you can rent it on the spot with an additional fee.
As always, we recommend that you buy tickets in advance, although there are often vacant seats on trains a week before the start of the hike. The ticket "there" should be bought so as to be at the railway station of Ivano-Frankivsk by 8 a.m. on the day of the start of the hike. A slight delay is acceptable. Back you buy a ticket for the evening, best of all for 20-22 hours. Buy tickets is worth it only after our confirmation of your participation in the hike, you can do it at the ticket offices of the railway station or online on the website Ukrzaliznytsi.
The meeting place of the group is the waiting room of the Ivano-Frankovsk railway station. The time is determined by the last arriving participant, usually it's 9 am. About 5-7 days before the hike we will send you an email with the exact time of the meeting and contacts of the team leader. Don't forget to check your mail.

We will eat at the cabin either on our own (there is a kitchen and all the conditions), or for an additional fee it is possible to order meals on the spot.
Good weather conditions are one of the most important factors in a successful class. Depending on the weather conditions, the program may change. What matters most is the health and safety of the group.

The program provides for mandatory additional costs for transfers. You can check the amount with a consultant, as it depends on the cost of fuel and is constantly changing.
There are also optional expenses. Participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and sometimes have dinner at a restaurant (for example, the legendary Ten). We recommend bringing at least 2000 UAH with you. The maximum is up to you.
