The school is designed for participants who have never been to the mountains or have been hiking or trekking - without harnesses, crampons, or ice axes.
During the three days in the Carpathians, you will acquire basic skills in moving on snow slopes (with or without crampons), self-restraint on the slope with an ice ax or trekking poles, movement in bundles, movement on railings, descent and ascent of a steep slope with ascender and a belay device.
You don't have to plan technical climbs to enroll in the school, you can just have fun and usefully spend time in the Carpathians in the company of cool people. New experience is always good.

The team leader will meet you at the hotel reception and provide you with all the necessary information about the time of the group's meeting and departure for training. Today we will start practicing the basic techniques of snow slopes: self-retention on the slope with an ice axe, walking on a steep slope with and without crampons. In the evening, dinner, a well-deserved rest, evening gatherings or a walk around the tourist town of Yaremche. Skills of the day: walking on a snowy slope with and without crampons; self-arrest on a slope with an ice axe; theoretical part.
We get up, have breakfast at the hotel, and get ready for the mountains. But first, we have to make a short trip (transfer is included in the price) and walk to the mountain meadow. We will learn how to move correctly in bundles with a different number of participants, to move up and down the pre-fixed railing. Even those who have previously tried walking in harnesses and along the railing will learn a lot of new and interesting things. In the evening, there will be a get-together where you can recall everything, ask questions and consolidate your knowledge. If you wish, you will have the opportunity to order a sauna or bath.
Skills of the day:
On the nearest slope, we will practice working on the railing. Movement on a sliding carabiner, ascent on a jumar and descent on a glass. Buckling up in oncoming traffic. These are the skills that participants need first and foremost. After lunch, we return to Yaremche, where you can buy tickets home.

The main difference between winter programs and summer hikes in the Carpathians is more severe weather. Therefore, you should pay special attention to the choice of quality equipment. Physically, the activities are not difficult, but they will last all day in the mountains in the snow. To prepare, we recommend jogging or cross-country skiing (of course, if there is enough snow).
Depending on the weather conditions and general wishes of the group, the Team Leader has the right to make changes to the program. Compliance with the instructor's instructions is mandatory and not negotiable.

Participants choose a convenient way to get to the tourist city of Yaremche - by car or train. The consultant will provide information in advance about the location of the hotel, which is located a few kilometers from the railway station. *Transfer to the hotel can be arranged by local taxi. It is possible that most of the participants will arrive by the same train - this will be discussed in the general chat, where you can arrange a joint trip and share the cost of a taxi.

The hotel is located in Yaremche, near the forest and slopes where the training will take place. The rooms are double, have twin beds, and if desired, families can rebook for a double mattress. Each room has its own bathroom, some rooms have a balcony.

Difficulty is indicated as medium, because in this program participants will have to do physical exercises with equipment, possible difficult weather conditions, deep snow, and stay in huts.
Good weather conditions are one of the most important factors in a successful class. Depending on the weather conditions, the program may change. What matters most is the health and safety of the group.

The total amount of mandatory additional costs that are not included in the price will be from 700 UAH for two dinners. However, the amount of food costs can increase several times, depending on the level of the restaurant chosen by the group.
There are also optional expenses. The participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and like to dine in a restaurant. Minimum recommend taking from 1000 UAH. And the maximum is up to you.
