In this hike we can fully enjoy all the charms of the winter Carpathians. There will be snow-covered fir trees, and breaking the trail in the deep snow, and sharp, rocky ridges of Syvulya and Vysokaya. Overnight stays are to be spent in tents in the snow, because it's real winter hike! We are going to have views of snow-white mountains in the heart of Gorgany massif. In good weather from the height of more than 1800m you will see the tops of the "Ring Grofa", array of Dovbushanka, ranges of Arshitsa and Pishkonya, and on the horizon look Strymba, Bratkovskaya, Svidovets and even Hoverla with Petros! The hike is moderately difficult and for those, who want to try real winter mountains! Join us!
We do not cancel or reschedule groups. If the manager has given permission to buy a ticket, you can buy it with confidence. There will be no cancellation through our fault.

A team leader will meet you at the Ivano-Frankivsk train station and help you until you go home.
When on other ridges all the snow is already licked by the wind, here you can still feel like a woolly wolf and create your own way!
We meet at the station in Ivano-Frankivsk, pick up our rental equipment, and, enjoying the unforgettable Carpathian roads, we get to the village Osmoloda. The goal for today is to get to a small tourist shelter on the Matakhov ridge. With high probability, it will be free and we will spend the night there, otherwise we will sleep in tents.
During the day we'll hike 7 km with backpacks, the altitude is 770 m.
Early rise, good breakfast. A fascinating hike through the snow-covered forest awaits us. Coming to the ridge, we will pass long stony area, in winter rocks here have very fanciful forms with snow excrescences. By the evening we will go down to the Borevka pass to the forest zone, where we will make a big fire. We'll cook delicious dinner, warm ourselves around the fire and share our impressions from the day.
During the day we'll hike 3.5 km, the altitude of 350 m, the drop of 480 m.
Today is the key day of our hike, we have to pass the highest ridge of Gorgan. The morning begins with a long ascent through the forest, and by lunch we come to the ridge crest to the top of Lopushnaya. There are the fortifications of the First World War. We finish the day passing the Big Syvuli (1836 m) and descending to the Ruszczyna valley, where we will spend the night near the forest area.
All in all we will pass 9 km during the day, the altitude will be 550 m, the altitude will be 350 m.
In the first half of the day we pass several hollows, where we will have to actively use snowshoes. Then we climb the Taupshirk Ridge, rarely visited in winter. We spend the night in the forest on the ridge. If the weather is good, you can watch an unforgettable beautiful sunset in the winter mountains.
During the day we will hike 8 km, a set of 300 m altitude, the drop in altitude - 100 m.
Today our task is to pass the ridge to the end and start descending to the village of Bystritsa. In the village we check into the cabin, meanwhile, for us is heated banya. We celebrate the end of the winter hike through the Carpathians, share our impressions. We can warm up and relax - successful hike! :)
In one day we will do 10 km, altitude - 800 m.
We wake up, get ready, and leave for Ivano-Frankivsk by chartered minibus. We'll have time to stroll through the beautiful winter in Frankovsk, sit in a cafe, and have a delicious dinner. In the evening, we take the train, and full of impressions, we go home. After, looking through the photos, will long remember how cool it was during the winter hike!
Depending on the weather conditions, condition and general wishes of the group, the teamleader has the right to make changes to the route.
Carpathians are very rainy region, so we must be prepared for anything - take the raincoat! Also on the ridges there are often strong winds. Depending on the weather during the day can be hot and cold. Most of the camps are high-altitude, and even summer evenings and nights will be cold - don't forget to take a hat and gloves!

As always, we recommend that you buy tickets in advance, although there are often vacant seats on trains a week before the start of the hike. You should buy your ticket so that you can be at the train station in Frankovsk by 10 a.m. on the day of the start of the hike. A slight delay is acceptable. Back you buy a ticket for the evening, best of all for 20-22 hours, then you'll have time to walk around Frankovsk and sit in one of its pubs. Buy tickets is worth it only after our confirmation of your participation in the hike, you can do this at the box office at the train station or online on the website "Ukrzaliznytsia".
The meeting place of the group is the lobby of the Ivano-Frankovsk railway station. The time is determined by the last arriving participant, usually it's 10 am. About 5-7 days before the hike we will send you by e-mail the exact time of the meeting and the contacts of the team leader. Don't forget to check your mail!
Classic winter weather with lots of snow and temperatures down to -10 degrees at night. Since the forest here is quite dense, the snow does not melt even when the past few days have been sunny.
Surely you are wondering what we will eat on a hike? Let's just say that you don't have to worry. Many participants say they eat better on the hike than they do at home. The basis of the menu is a simple meal of cereals and soups. You should not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat any products, be sure to inform the manager so that the guide can slightly adjust the menu for you. We also recommend taking some yummies with you - nuts or sweets. Appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu shown is indicative only. Guides usually have their signature dishes that they love to pamper participants with. And if you have dishes that you would like to receive on a hike, be sure to tell the manager about it, as the guide may have completely different preferences.

In some places there will be no connection, because we will be moving between the ridges. On the ridges a little catch, call once every 2 days home will be possible, adequate internet will not be available.
The weight of the backpack on this hike will be in the neighborhood of 15-20 kg when fully loaded with public gear. It could be considerably less if you have good individual gear.

The program has mandatory additional costs for transfers. Their amount you can check with the manager, as it depends on the cost of fuel and is constantly changing.
There are also optional expenses. Participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and like to have dinner in a restaurant (for example, in the legendary "Ten"). Minimum recommend to take from 300 hryvnias. And the maximum is up to you.
