An easy three-day hike through the Gorgany Mountains that almost anyone can do. In this hike we will visit a beautiful place - the landscape reserve Grofa. In three days we will walk along the stony forest paths, breathing in the scent of pine forest, and climb the two peaks - Grofa and Parenki. From them in good weather we will have unforgettable views of most of the most beautiful mountain ranges and peaks. All the Central and Western Gorgans will be as on the palm of your hand. We recruit no more than 12 participants per team leader, and if there are a large number of willing participants, we divide them into several independent groups. This is done for the comfort of the participants.

Three-day hike to Gorgany on the peaks of Grof and Parenka is a unique opportunity to explore the wilderness of the Carpathians, visiting the mountain landscape reserve, located at an altitude of 1500m! Enjoyable impressions and vivid memories from this hike are guaranteed!
During the day we'll hike 9 kilometers, gaining an altitude of 750 m.
Traditionally, we meet in the morning on the day of the hike in Ivano-Frankovsk. We get acquainted and move by chartered bus to the starting point of the route - the village Osmoloda. We start several hiking routes in the settlement Osmoloda. We take one of the most beautiful, which leads to the Plicze, located between the rocky peaks of Grofa and Parenka at a height of 1500 meters.
The trail goes first along the Molodowa Creek and then leads into the headwaters of the Kotelec. The final ascent among the slender firs, and we find ourselves near a cozy wooden house - the now tourist shelter. If there is room, we will stay there or stay in tents nearby. Usually there is room in the lodge, and for two days we are guaranteed a cozy atmosphere.
We make a fire, cook delicious dinner, share our impressions and interesting stories. Evening in the mountains, at an altitude of 1500 m.
During the day we'll hike 8 km without backpacks, gaining a total altitude of 600 m.
Today we'll walk without heavy backpacks, taking with us only the essentials. We'll leave the rest of our equipment at the lodge. First we are waiting for the easy ascent to the top of Grof, where we have incredible views of most of the Gorgan peaks. This is one of the peaks of the Carpathians, which is associated with several ancient legends. From a bird's-eye view if the weather is good we can see the sharp Sivuli Range, the massive Pishkonya Range, Strimbu and Strimenis Mountains, forested slopes of Western Gorgan.
After enjoying the views, we will go down to the tourist shelter on the Plisce valley. We will have a good lunch, replenish our water supply and go to our next summit today - Parenki. First we will go on the trail through the great high-mountainous Glen Plisce and enter a fairy-tale spruce forest. Subsequently the spruces will become less and less, but they will be replaced by low thickets of mountain pine. The activists carved a path along which we are going to ascend to the top of Parenka. In some places the ascent consists of steps, which are bare and twisted roots of pine trees.
From Mt. Parenki we will see Popadia, Koretvina and Petros Gorgansky peaks. All of them are covered with scatterings of rocks and dense wild forests, which are home to many wild animals. Since people appear there very rarely - it is a great home for wolves, bears and small forest animals. Closer to the evening, we will go down the same trail to the shelter and make a delicious dinner.
During the day we will hike 11 km with a drop in altitude of 780 m.
The forest adventures continue! Today we are waiting for the fabulous trails-raishtoks, laid on the slopes of massifs Grofa and Konya Grofetsky. We get up with the sun, have a quick breakfast and go to the traverse of Grofa. Here we will see the cedars, which are quite rare trees in the Carpathians. Some of them are up to 400 years old!
Along the rocky path, which crosses several couloirs, we come to a forest glade on the saddle between Grofa and Konem Grofetsky. Here is built another cozy forest hut, which also serves as a shelter for tourists. We will go inside it and start descending through the woods to the stream Kotelec. Then we will get to the familiar forest road, which will take us to Osmoloda.
The bus will be waiting in Osmoloda, which will take us to Ivano-Frankivsk. In Frankovsk we will celebrate the successful completion of the hike in a cafe, and then take a walk through the historical part of town. And, filled with emotions and impressions of the fabulous and wild Gorgan, we go home, already dreaming of the next adventure! :)
Depending on the weather conditions, condition and general wishes of the group, the teamleader has the right to make changes to the route.
Carpathians in general is very rainy region, so we must be prepared for anything - take a raincoat for sure! It is better to be safe than to get soaked! Depending on the weather during the day can be both very hot and cool. Most of the camps are high-rise, and even summer evenings and nights can be cool, so don't forget to take a hat and gloves!

As always, we recommend that you buy tickets in advance, although there are often vacant seats on trains a week before the start of the hike. You should buy your ticket so that you'll be at the train station in Ivano-Frankovsk by 10 a.m. on the day of the start of the hike. A slight delay is acceptable. Back you buy a ticket for the evening, best of all for 20-22 hours, then you'll have time to walk around Frankovsk and have a drink in one of its pubs. Buy tickets is worth it only after our confirmation of your participation in the hike. You can do this at the ticket offices at the railway station or online on the website "Ukrzaliznytsia".
The meeting place of the group is the waiting room of the Ivano-Frankovsk railway station. The time is determined by the last arriving participant, usually it's 10 am. About 5-7 days before the hike we will send you by e-mail the exact time of the meeting and the contacts of the team leader. Don't forget to check your mail!
The weather in the Carpathians is very changeable, so you should prepare for its surprises in advance. The first thing you should remember is that it rains a lot here, so you should bring a raincoat and a rain cover for your backpack. Second - in the evenings, especially at high-altitude parking lots, it may be cool. Take with you a hat, gloves and jacket.
Surely you are wondering what we will eat on a hike? Let's just say that you don't have to worry. Many participants say they eat better on the hike than they do at home. The basis of the menu is a simple meal of cereals and soups. You should not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat any products, be sure to inform the manager so that the guide can slightly adjust the menu for you. We also recommend taking some yummies with you - nuts or sweets. Appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu shown is indicative only. Guides usually have their signature dishes that they love to pamper participants with. And if you have dishes that you would like to receive on a hike, be sure to tell the manager about it, as the guide may have completely different preferences.

When you arrive in Ivano-Frankivsk, go to "10". The food here is extremely tasty, the portions are huge, and the prices are small. If the 10 is busy, you can eat at another pub, too. Sitting down together for a delicious meal and a glass of beer is a great ending to a great outing. With that in mind, it's best to buy your tickets back for the evening - about 20-22 hours.
One of the charms of a hike in the Carpathians is the abundance of berries and mushrooms. But be careful! Before you eat something of berries - be sure to clarify with the team leader whether it is edible. The most tasty and popular berry is undoubtedly blueberries and raspberries, except them you can also eat cowberries, blueberries and blackberries.
There are a lot of mushrooms in the Carpathians, and they can often enrich your diet. We recommend to take only white mushrooms and cook them well. On the possibility of diluting the ration of mushrooms ask the instructor. If you have a weak stomach - you should not eat mushrooms.
The program has mandatory additional costs for transfers. Their amount you can check with the manager, as it depends on the cost of fuel and is constantly changing.
There are also optional expenses. Participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and like to have dinner in a restaurant (for example, in the legendary "Ten"). Minimum recommend to take from 300 hryvnias. And the maximum is up to you.
