The teamleader will meet you at the train station of Ivano-Frankovsk, and with him you will travel to the mountains in a previously ordered comfortable transport.

Traditionally, we meet and get acquainted in Ivano-Frankovsk. Then we drive to the village of Staraya Guta. Here we take our last look at civilization and go up along the river Kuzminets in the mountains. Today we will walk about 6 km, and after that we will stay for the night. The set of elevation is insignificant - warming up and getting used to the backpacks, enjoying the coniferous forest and the river with crystal clear water. In the evening we have a delicious dinner and get acquainted by the fire.
We will hike through the Carpathian forest with huge spruces, soft moss and thickets of wild ferns. The forest will give us freshness and fabulous mood. After leaving the forest, we will gently ascend to the pass between Vysokaya and Srednaya peaks. Today we are going to discover the mysteries of two peaks of Gorgan - Vysokaya and Igrovets mountain. Climbing them we can see a very picturesque part of the Ukrainian Carpathians. Tomorrow the ridge of Syvuli will be as on the palm. Descend a little bit in the direction of Polonyna Pogar, we will stay there for the night. Today we will cover 11 km, the altitude of 850 meters.
Let's continue to travel the Gorgan. Today we will climb several peaks - Mount Lopuszna (1772 meters) and the highest point of Gorgany - Mount Sivuła (1836 m). Then we go to the Ruszczyna valley where there are ruins of the frontier post - in the thirties of the twentieth century there was the Polish-Czechoslovakian frontier. Near the Ruszczyzczyna Valley there is quite a big cliff with a strange name - the Piekło tract. Let's listen to the legend about the tract and go further on the trail, to the Střemena valley. After hiking 14 km for the day, we will stop here for the night.
Today we will have an easy day and great views from Stanomir ridge. We will hike just half a day, the rest of the day we will rest, enjoying the views from the top of Stanomir ridge to the surrounding mountains. Overnight stay on the shelter at the height of 1500 m in good weather will give you the chance to see beautiful sunset and sunrise in the mountains.
But it will require some hard work - after the picturesque Vivčina hollow we will have a good ascent to the ridge. But when you come out of the dense spruce forest, you will simply freeze with admiration!
We meet the dawn, have a tasty breakfast, quickly assemble the camp and descend from the Stanomir ridge. A couple of rather steep descents, easy ascent - and we are on Ripna valley, from which we have a view of several mountain gorges at once. Having rested, we ascend a stony Chortka ridge. And from its height you can see all our route, starting from Stara Guta. The path along the ridge is very interesting - now we have to jump from one rock to another, then we enter a fairytale forest with moss and tall firs.
Later we will go down to the forest road and along it, closer to the evening, to Maniavskiy waterfall. We'll set up our tents right above it.
Our interesting and eventful hike comes to an end. Today you can have a good sleep, rest, take plenty of photos and a refreshing shower at Maniava waterfall. You will definitely like this finish of the hike, because not every hike can take a shower of twenty meters high:)
After water procedures and memory making pictures we pack the camp and move down the river to the village Manyava, where the van is waiting for us. The bus will take us to Ivano-Frankovsk. In Frankovsk, we'll walk through the beautiful historic center of the city and celebrate the successful end of the hike in one of the local establishments.
Depending on the weather conditions and general wishes of the group, the teamleader has the right to make changes to the route.
Carpathians, in general, very rainy region, and our route is no exception. We must be ready for anything - rain gear is a must! Also on the ridges and at the tops there can be strong winds. Depending on the weather, it can be hot and cold during the day. And even summer evenings and nights can be cold - don't forget to take a hat and gloves!

We defined the difficulty of this route as high. 6 days on your own with backpacks and overnight in tents, a significant weight of food, part of the route on stony or marshy trails, medium distance of crossings, but frequent elevation changes, there are areas with a sharp increase in altitude.
Special features: a lot of forest trails, climbing four ridges, relatively small number of tourists.
As always, we recommend that you buy tickets in advance, although there are often vacant seats on trains a week before the start of the hike. You should buy your ticket so that you'll be at the train station in Ivano-Frankovsk by 10 a.m. on the day of the start of the hike. A slight delay is acceptable. Back you buy a ticket for the evening, best of all for 20-22 hours, then you'll have time to walk around Frankovsk and have a drink in one of its pubs. Buy tickets is worth it only after our confirmation of your participation in the hike. You can do this at the ticket offices at the railway station or online on the website "Ukrzaliznytsia".
The meeting place of the group is the waiting room of the Ivano-Frankovsk railway station. The time is determined by the last arriving participant, usually it's 10 am. About 5-7 days before the hike we will send you by e-mail the exact time of the meeting and the contacts of the team leader. Don't forget to check your mail!
The weather in the Carpathians is very changeable, so you should prepare for its surprises in advance. The first thing you should remember is that it rains a lot here, so it is necessary to take a raincoat and a rain cover on your backpack. Second - in the evenings, especially at high-altitude parking lots, it is very cool. Take with you a hat, gloves and jacket.
Surely you are wondering what we will eat on a hike? Let's just say that you don't have to worry. Many participants say they eat better on the hike than they do at home. The basis of the menu is a simple meal of cereals and soups. You should not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat any products, be sure to inform the manager so that the guide can slightly adjust the menu for you. We also recommend taking some yummies with you - nuts or sweets. Appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu shown is indicative only. Guides usually have their signature dishes that they love to pamper participants with. And if you have dishes that you would like to receive on a hike, be sure to tell the manager about it, as the guide may have completely different preferences.
Features of nutrition for vegetarians - if you do not eat meat, be sure to read. We tell here how we will feed you and at the same time we give you a 5% discount to the hiking.
When you arrive in Ivano-Frankivsk, go to 10. The food here is extremely tasty, the portions are huge, and the prices are small. If the 10 is busy, you can eat at another pub, too. Sitting down together for a delicious meal and a glass of beer is a great ending to a great outing. With that in mind, it's best to buy your tickets back for the evening - about 20-22 hours.
The program has mandatory additional costs for transfers. Their amount you can check with the consultant, as it depends on the cost of fuel and is constantly changing.
There are also optional expenses. Participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and like to have dinner in a restaurant (for example, in the legendary "Ten"). Minimum recommend to take from 300 hryvnias. And the maximum is up to you.
