Teamleader meets parents with young tourists at the railway station in Ivano-Frankivsk. By hired car we go to the heart of the mountains - Krivopilskiy pass. Here begins the real hiking tour in the Carpathian Mountains for children and parents. After having lunch at a comfortable place, we start walking up to the top of Makovitsa, breathing in the clean mountain air and enjoying the nature. Then we enter a fabulous spruce forest, and along the path we slowly walk toward the Vesnarka valley, gently gaining altitude.
After climbing to the valley Vesnarka at an altitude of 1378 m, we will start to set up our camp for the first night's stay in the forest. There is a nearby wooden house where shepherds live. You can go to them and buy cheese, feta cheese or milk, which are made according to the ancient Hutsul recipe.
The sun is slowly descending behind the Chernogorsky ridge, throwing its last rays on Hoverla, and we gather around the campfire to listen to interesting stories.
Today we will have a slightly longer hike. But we will not get tired, as there will be frequent stops, as well as a lot of Carpathian blueberries. All the glades are just strewn with blue berries. So, quietly, grazing on blueberry meadows, we will climb to the highest mountain of our campaign - Kostrych (1586 m). Further on the ridge, descending a little bit down, we will also pass the peaks Kostrica and Kostrica. From these places there is a wonderful panorama over the whole Montenegro Ridge! We will see the highest peaks of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
After a while you can hear dozens of bells ringing below - it's Hutsul flocks of sheep and cows grazing on the succulent grasses. Over the summer they are so accustomed to the tourists that sometimes you can not get rid of them, and so they beg to be treated to something tasty!
We'll set up camp together this evening, we have enough time, so our little participants will take an active part in breaking up the tents. The instructor will tell us and show everyone how to do it correctly. Then we'll go to gather dry branches for the evening campfire and learn how to make it fast and safe. And while the delicious dinner will be ready, we'll have a master class on how to draw maps and play exciting games.
This is the final day of our hike for the children. Our way today is to the village Krasnyk. We cast a farewell look at the Carpathian landscape from the top of the ridge and stomp down to the road. Enjoying the nature, picking ceps for the presents home.
And on the way the guys learn to navigate the moss on the trees, to distinguish wild plants. We are sure that this knowledge will be useful to them in the future. After all, if it was their first trip, it won't be the last one! In the village will be waiting for us a bus, which will take all to Ivano-Frankovsk. Here we'll say goodbye, but not for long. In the near future, we'll definitely see each other in the mountains, right?

The permissible age for participation in the Carpathian Mountains with children - from 5 years old. It is desirable for both parents to be present, as it is necessary to carry the things for themselves and for the child, as well as to have time to watch the restless child, because the Carpathians are so much interesting! Kids under 15 years old get a 30% discount.
If your child is 3-4 years old, you have experience in hiking, and your child has experience sleeping outdoors - you can join the group, too.
As always, we recommend that you buy tickets in advance, although there are often vacant seats on trains a week before the start of the hike. You should buy your ticket so that you'll be at the train station in Ivano-Frankovsk by 10 a.m. on the day of the start of the hike. A slight delay is acceptable. Back you buy a ticket for the evening, best of all for 20-22 hours, then you'll have time to walk around Frankovsk and have a drink in one of its pubs. Buy tickets is worth it only after our confirmation of your participation in the hike. You can do this at the ticket offices at the railway station or online on the website "Ukrzaliznytsia".
The meeting place of the group is the waiting room of the Ivano-Frankovsk railway station. The time is determined by the last arriving participant, usually it's 10 am. About 5-7 days before the hike we will send you by e-mail the exact time of the meeting and the contacts of the team leader. Don't forget to check your mail!
The weather in the Carpathians is very changeable, so you should prepare for its surprises in advance. The first thing you should remember is that it rains a lot here, so you should bring a raincoat and a rain cover for your backpack. Second - in the evenings, especially at high-altitude parking lots, it may be cool. Take with you a hat, gloves and jacket.
Surely you are wondering what we will eat on a hike? Let's just say that you don't have to worry. Many participants say they eat better on the hike than they do at home. The basis of the menu is a simple meal of cereals and soups. You should not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat any products, be sure to inform the manager so that the guide can slightly adjust the menu for you. We also recommend taking some yummies with you - nuts or sweets. Appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu shown is indicative only. Guides usually have their signature dishes that they love to pamper participants with. And if you have dishes that you would like to receive on a hike, be sure to tell the manager about it, as the guide may have completely different preferences.

Sitting down together for a delicious meal and a glass of beer is a great ending to a great outing. With that in mind, it's best to buy your tickets back for the evening - about 20-22 hours.
One of the charms of a hike in the Carpathians is the abundance of berries and mushrooms. But be careful! Before you eat something of berries - be sure to clarify with the team leader whether it is edible. The most tasty and popular berry is undoubtedly blueberries and raspberries, except them you can also eat cowberries, blueberries and blackberries.
There are a lot of mushrooms in the Carpathians, and they can often enrich your diet. We recommend to take only white mushrooms and cook them well. On the possibility of diluting the ration of mushrooms ask the instructor. If you have a weak stomach - you should not eat mushrooms.
The program includes mandatory additional costs for transfers. Their amount you can check with the manager, as it depends on the cost of fuel and is constantly changing.
There are also optional expenses. Participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and like to have dinner in a restaurant (for example, in the legendary "Ten"). Minimum recommend to take from 300 UAH. And the maximum is up to you.
