Hiking Hoverla is 3 days in the Carpathian Mountains, filled with adventure. The program is not complicated, but extremely rich. In three days we tried to fit a reasonable maximum. In this time we will climb Hoverla (2061 m) and Petros (2020 m) - the most popular and one of the most beautiful peaks of the Ukrainian Carpathians. There are two variants of the route, one a little easier - through Lazeshchyna and Kozmeshchyk, the second more interesting - with the start in Kvasy (or Yasiny).
You will return home filled with positive impressions, charged with mountain energy and a little tired :)
Ascending Hoverla and Petros - two iconic peaks of the Carpathian Mountains in one intensive three-day program. Hoverla can become your first step to Everest, and Kuluar - a reliable partner in the realization of mountain dreams.

Consultants will prepare and advise you on their own experience before the program, because all of them have been on Hoverla more than once.
The teamleader will meet you at the train station of Ivano-Frankovsk, and with him you will travel to the mountains in a previously ordered comfortable transport.
We recruit no more than 12 participants per team leader, and if there are numerous willing participants, we divide them into several independent groups. This is done for the comfort of the participants.

It should be noted that although Hoverla is the highest peak of Ukraine, but the ascent to it is not particularly difficult. This is probably one of the reasons why it is so popular. Many people think that every Ukrainian should climb Hoverla, and we agree with them. And what about you?
Meeting the group at the train station in Ivano-Frankivsk, the first meeting with the instructor, the distribution of products. We take our backpacks, and with smiles on our faces (an unforgettable adventure is ahead!) we get into the bus, which will take us to the start of the route. Let's start our three-day Carpathian trip from the picturesque mountain village of Kvasy. It is famous for the natural source of mineral water. Be sure to try the healing water :)
After that, we have to climb up the Menchul valley through the beautiful beech forest. We will put up our tent camp on the hollow.
From Menchul hollow, which is located at an altitude of 1200m, you can admire the views of the Svidovets peaks and nearby wooded hills. Down in the valley of the Black Tisa River stretches the village Kvasy. We walk along the valley and enjoy the sunset and the company. In the season here you can buy fresh milk from the shepherds.

Today we are waiting for the ascent to the fourth highest peak of Ukraine - Petros. The ascent to it from the Kvasov side takes place on picturesque mountain meadows, with a gradual and fairly smooth climb. Gradually we come out on the ridge and go up to the top, admiring the magnificent scenery around.
From Petros there is an unforgettable view of the whole Montenegrin range and its main peak, which is very close (only 9 km) - Hoverla. Our goal for tomorrow. In the meantime we take pictures, enjoy the nature and of course have a snack. Petros is one of the most capricious peaks in terms of weather. We hope that we will be lucky and gentle sun will warm our hearts and hands. We are spending the night on the junction between Petros and Hoverla. In the season there are a lot of blueberries.

This day has come! We are waiting for the ascent to the highest peak of Ukraine - Hoverla. It is not very difficult, you don't need to be afraid of heights. It's always crowded and there are a lot of tourists on the peak. We'll spend here half an hour looking down at the mountain peaks and ridges, in the valleys of which small Carpathian villages are spread out. And only somewhere far away you can see the higher mountains. But those are the Romanian Carpathians.

Depending on the weather conditions, condition and general wishes of the group, the teamleader has the right to make changes to the route.
Carpathians in general is very rainy region, so we must be prepared for anything - take the raincoat for sure! It's better to be safe than to get soaked!
You can join our climbs on Hoverla from any city of Ukraine. Meeting with a guide takes place at the railway station of Ivano-Frankivsk, where you can easily get. Especially convenient will be residents of large cities: Kiev, Kharkov, Dnepr and Odessa. The timing of the meeting of the groups is determined by the arrival time of the trains from the main directions. So feel free to apply for climbing Hoverla, no matter what city you're in!

We rated the difficulty of this route as above average, as it is the hardest three-day hike with backpacks and tents, quite long transitions with a significant increase in altitude, steep and long descents from Mt. Petros and Hoverla.
Special features: a lot of other tourists, on the second night you can stay in a shelter without conditions.
As always, we recommend that you buy tickets in advance, although there are often vacant seats on trains a week before the start of the hike. You should buy your ticket so that you'll be at the train station in Ivano-Frankovsk by 10 a.m. on the day of the start of the hike. A slight delay is acceptable. Back you buy a ticket for the evening, best of all for 20-22 hours, then you'll have time to walk around Frankovsk and have a drink in one of its pubs. Buy tickets is worth it only after our confirmation of your participation in the hike. You can do this at the ticket offices at the railway station or online on the website "Ukrzaliznytsia".
The meeting place of the group is the waiting room of the Ivano-Frankovsk railway station. The time is determined by the last arriving participant, usually it's 10 am. About 5-7 days before the hike we will send you by e-mail the exact time of the meeting and the contacts of the team leader. Don't forget to check your mail!
The weather in the Carpathians is very changeable, so you should prepare for its surprises in advance. The first thing you should remember is that it rains a lot here, so you should bring a raincoat and a rain cover for your backpack. Second - in the evenings, especially at high-altitude parking lots, it may be cool. Take with you a hat, gloves and jacket.
Surely you are wondering what we will eat on a hike? Let's just say that you don't have to worry. Many participants say they eat better on the hike than they do at home. The basis of the menu is a simple meal of cereals and soups. You should not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat any products, be sure to inform the manager so that the guide can slightly adjust the menu for you. We also recommend taking some yummies with you - nuts or sweets. Appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu shown is indicative only. Guides usually have their signature dishes that they love to pamper participants with. And if you have dishes that you would like to receive on a hike, be sure to tell the manager about it, as the guide may have completely different preferences.

When you arrive in Ivano-Frankivsk, go to "10". The food here is extremely tasty, the portions are huge, and the prices are small. If the 10 is busy, you can eat at another pub, too. Sitting down together for a delicious meal and a glass of beer is a great ending to a great outing. With that in mind, it's best to buy your tickets back for the evening - about 20-22 hours.
One of the charms of a hike in the Carpathians is the abundance of berries and mushrooms. But be careful! Before you eat something of berries - be sure to clarify with the team leader whether it is edible. The most tasty and popular berry is undoubtedly blueberries and raspberries, except them you can also eat cowberries, blueberries and blackberries.
There are a lot of mushrooms in the Carpathians, and they can often enrich your diet. We recommend to take only white mushrooms and cook them well. On the possibility of diluting the ration of mushrooms ask the instructor. If you have a weak stomach - you should not eat mushrooms.
The program has mandatory additional costs for transfers. Their amount you can check with the consultant, as it depends on the cost of fuel and is constantly changing.
There are also optional expenses. Participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and like to have dinner in a restaurant (for example, in the legendary "Ten"). Minimum recommend taking from 300 hryvnias. And the maximum is up to you.
