In this hiking we will trek along the Mediterranean in the Western Lycian Trail from Fethiye. What is it? - It's one of the popular spots along Turkey's coast, where the sea water is mirrored clear and the beaches in picturesque coves look like they were carved out of magazine pictures. These are huge rocks, trails along high cliffs and indescribably beautiful tropical nature ... Believe me, in this part of the famous Lycian Way everyone will find something new and exciting for themselves: both the experienced hiker in Turkey, and a beginner who saw the Mediterranean coast for the first time!

Since the second half of November and until spring, even in Turkey is already cool and rainy, so we do not put routes in tents (no one wants to get cold and wet), but to live in cabins, with a secure roof over his head - quite good. In addition to the Western Lycia Way, we also offer the classic Eastern Lycian Way hike, and the Central Lycia hike.
We do not cancel or shift groups. If the manager approved the purchase of a ticket, you can surely buy it. The hike will not be canceled due to our fault.

Try to arrive at Dalaman airport in the morning. From here you will be able to take a direct bus to Fethiye, where you will meet your teamleader. Next we will settle in one of the comfortable hostels in the center of the city, with an excellent view of the bay. After the hard drive we have to acclimatize to the new climate. We walk through the cozy streets of the city and the huge promenade. Fethiye is the starting point not only for hikers, but also a huge amount of sea transport. Here is a huge yacht port, which will impress even an indifferent person to the sea. Also within the city are the remains of the ancient Lycian settlement of Telmessos.
In the morning we take a bus to Kayaköy village. There we will visit the picturesque ruins of the Greek settlement, and then we will go further and start to get acquainted with the Turkish coastline from the bay of Oludeniz. There is no hurry. So we will spend the rest of the day in this bay. Closer to the evening we will take a bus back to Fethiye, where we will spend the night.
Oludeniz is the landing place of paragliders from BabaDag Mountain. The paragliding flight is spectacular and very beautiful. Those who wish can fly, adding another experience to their trip. The cost of the flight starts at $100.

Today we start from the official start of the Lycian Trail, which we will reach again by bus. By lunch, we will be at a very picturesque parking lot near the village of Kozagadji. But that's not all! After camping we take small rucksacks and go up. We ride up to the yayla above the village, and there is a wonderful view of the valley and Baba Dagh mountain! Satisfied with ourselves, we return to the camp and cook tasty dinner before going to bed.

Part of the way to the village of Kirme, we have to go on asphalt. Here we stock up on water and continue our journey. Closer to the evening we come to the village Kabak, where we stay in one of the campsites.

A day without backpacks. Let's go up to the dolmush (local bus) stop and drive to the panoramic point. There is water and great views of the sea. We will have a snack, have a rest, enjoy the beauty and start descending to Faralia. And here is the most interesting thing: there are two variants of descent. The first is to go down along the trail. The second is Donkey trail, a trail that leads along the cliff. It is not particularly difficult and dangerous, but for those who are very afraid of heights, it can be scary. But it is very beautiful!

Today we will return to the main Lycian trail, which will take us up into the mountains. The coniferous forests and numerous springs of delicious drinking water will keep us pleasantly cool. As a reward for the climb we'll stop at one of the camping sites in the village of Alynja with unforgettable views of the surrounding mountains.
Distanse: 7 km; climb: 800 m; Drop: 112 m.
Today we will continue along the mountain part of the trail. Along the way we will meet unforgettable views, mountain pastures, remnants of ancient ruins, remote Turkish villages and much more! For lunch we will try a traditional Turkish dish, Gözleme, with Turkish tea and locally produced honey. We will spend the night in a mountain village.
Distanse: 15 km; climb: 707 m; drop: 771 m.
Unfortunately, the hiking is coming to an end. Today is our last opportunity to enjoy the rocky coastline of southern Turkey. Toward evening we will come close to the valley where civilization begins, and we will stop at a campsite near the sea.
Distanse: 13.0 km; climb: 391 m; drop: 1,062 m.
The last day of the hiking will be entirely devoted to visiting fortresses such as Pidnai, Letoon, and Xanthos. These ancient cities, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will long be remembered as the perfect conclusion to a week-long hike on the Lycian Trail. In the evening we take a bus to Fethiye and spend the night in comfort.
Tanned, with a luggage full of pleasant emotions and good impressions we return home... Not for long: because now everyone will know how it's great to spend an active holiday at the Mediterranean coast of Turkey! So we say "see you soon" ;)

As always, we recommend that you buy your tickets in advance, but only after we confirm your participation in the trip. The cheapest way to fly to Turkey is the low-cost airline Pegasus. They fly from Kharkov, Kiev and Lvov from Ukraine. They do not fly direct, but with a connection in Istanbul. But there is nothing wrong with that. Tickets start at 150 euros each way and you'd better buy them in advance. Allowed luggage: 20 kg + 10 kg of hand luggage.
Another good low-cost airline is Onur Air. Allowed luggage: 30 kg + 10 kg of hand luggage.
From Kiev and other cities in Ukraine you can also fly with wings of Turkish Airlines. It will be a little bit more expensive.

The plan is to meet the group with a teamleader in Fethiye, which is most convenient to get to from Dalaman. If you have tickets to Antalya - no problem, there are approx 5-6 daily buses, which you can also get to the city to meet the group. More precise and detailed information about the meeting point and the contacts of the guide will be sent to you 7-10 days before the start of the hike, be sure to check your e-mail!

Surely you are wondering what we will eat on a hike? Let's just say that you don't have to worry. Many participants say they eat better on the hike than they do at home. The basis of the menu is a simple meal of cereals and soups. You should not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat any products, be sure to inform the manager so that the guide can slightly adjust the menu for you. We also recommend taking some yummies with you - nuts or sweets. Appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu shown is indicative only. Guides usually have their signature dishes that they love to pamper participants with. And if you have dishes that you would like to receive on a hike, be sure to tell the manager about it, as the guide may have completely different preferences.

Turkey is a country with a mild subtropical climate. In summer it is very hot, so we try to put our hikes mainly in April-May and September-October, which are the best months for trekking in Turkey. The daytime temperature will be +25 +30 Celsius, and at night about +10
The official money of Turkey - Turkish lira, but almost everywhere you can pay in dollars at the rate similar to the official. However you should have some amount of lira with you (it will be useful in the stores on the route in small villages), and it is better to change it in the exchange office at the bus station. By no means change it directly at the airport - the rate there is simply robbery! Take small currency with you, cab drivers will be happy to accept it. One dollar is about seven Turkish Liras.
Check your carrier's rates for roaming in Turkey. Often it is much cheaper than in Europe, and it will be advantageous to connect a roaming package.
The total amount of additional expenses not included in the price up to 90 € - depending on how to eat in cafes and how many souvenirs to buy. We advise you to change money before you go to exchange offices with a fixed rate. The exchange rate at the airport is not very good. At the café you can eat for about 5-15 €. If you have a sweet tooth you'll probably want to bring home a lot of oriental delicacies - that's for sure :)
