Steep slopes of high mountains foothills are covered with thick forests with rich flora and fauna and such a desirable coolness in summer. Therefore, we suggest you see all these beauties with your own eyes by hiking in the Prokletie National Park. The North Albanian Alps will amaze you with their landscapes and captivate you with their hospitality!
Albania is quite different from other countries in Western Europe in terms of trekking and outdoor activities. Due to the communist past, the tourist infrastructure is just beginning to fully develop. Prices for housing and food are relatively low and it is possible to enjoy the color of this country. And the mountains here are great, besides you can easily pitch a tent and go on a real hike.
We invite you to make such a hike through the mountain passes with climbing to the panoramic peak, which offers beautiful views of several mountain ranges of the Prokletie National Park. The route is suitable for people who have already hiked similar trails, as well as for those who want a little rest, or doubt their physical fitness. Since we do not need to carry large backpacks and spend the night in tents, this route is suitable for many. On the day we'll pass on the average 10 km, but there are two days with long climbs and climbing more than a kilometer. You need to be ready for that.

Arrival in Tirana, the capital of Albania, then transfer by shuttle bus to Shkoder, where your teamleader will be waiting for you. The journey will take about two hours. If you have time, go for a walk to the fortress of Rosafa. From its height there is a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and the lights of evening Shkoder. We also stroll through the central street of the city, where there are many souvenir shops.
In the morning we wake up, have breakfast and take a transfer to Ses village. The journey will take approximately 2-3 hours. We check in at the hostel, have some rest and walk to the Grunas waterfall. There are several ways to get there. We choose the most interesting path and walk leisurely. Tomorrow we will also go in the same direction, but by another way.
After the waterfall, if you are not too tired, you can go to the bridge across the canyon. We advise not to be lazy - it is very beautiful there. On our return we will have nourishing and delicious dinner and share our impressions of the day. And the most active and tireless can play volleyball.
Distance 5.5 km set 380m, 380m downhill
We wake up, have breakfast, and go straight to one of the most beautiful places on the route - Lake Blue Eye. On the way you can stop in a cafe and buy water or sweet drinks - you just want to drink something cold in the heat. And then there is an unusual canyon with stone baths - be sure to come here and see it with your own eyes.
We come to the lake and take a rest here. It is very beautiful here, you can swim. Though water is ice-cold, but it's very refreshing on a hot summer day. We go back by the other way, to see new beautiful landscapes and to cross the river through the bridge in the narrow canyon. On our return we take a shower and spend an active evening playing table games.
The distance is 17,5 km. The climb to 756 m, the descent to 756 m.
Today is the most difficult day of the route. We have a lot of climbing to do with a lot of climbing and dropping of altitude. But we are already well prepared for the first 3 days, so we will definitely cope with this task. Trekking along the marked trail to Wolbon Pass. On the way we stock up on water at the springs or in a cafe. There you can also have a snack. But we advise to walk a little bit further and have lunch on the glade with the big stone, it's a great place for having a rest and having a short break.
After regaining strength, we continue trekking - further we will see a signpost to Jizerka mountain, a descent to one of the best cafes Simoni, a steep section and only after that a comfortable forest path, which leads to the village Rragam. In the village we enter the road that will lead us to a wide river bed. We will follow the river bed all the way to Wolbona.
The distance is 16 km. The climb is 1151m, the descent is 918m.
Today we have an easy day before climbing Maya Roshit. First we climb a good forest road, then we turn to a less traveled one. The markings are fresh. There are a lot of strawberries and raspberries before the summit, so often we will stop to eat mountain berries.
From the top we'll have a great panorama of the Wolbon valley. Here we'll spend some time and take a small photo shoot. We will go down along the ascent route, even though there are other trails as well. This one is much more comfortable and safer. If you want you can also take a trip to Volbon waterfall on this day.
Distance 8.1 km, 861 m ascent, 16 m descent - one way
We are waiting for another rich and interesting day of the hike - a radial ascent to the summit of Maja e Rosit. At the start we must stock up on water, and head for the road sign to Kukaj. Then we go up the road to the village where a river (usually dried up) will ford us. Gradually, with short resting places we finally reach the top.
On the way you can buy cold water or cola in small cafes. If we are lucky, we will see unmelted snowfields on the pass, where the border with Montenegro is.
Distance 10.5 km, a set of 1537 m, the descent of 53 m
We have breakfast and slowly get ready. We take the ferry, which starts at 13:00. There is a cafe on the pier, but it is always so crowded that we will have lunch after the crossing. At the pier or behind the tunnel, a pre-booked bus is already waiting for us. We toss a coin to come back again and get on the bus that will take us to Durres.
The road is long, there are often traffic jams, so we must be patient. Once we arrive in Durres, we check into our rooms and definitely take a walk to the sea. Of course, those who are tired from the road can rest and join the group later.
A well-deserved beach vacation after a rich trek through the mountains of Albania :) You can lie on the sea, or you can take a walk in Durres, because it also has enough sights. We recommend you to plan for it one more day. And for those who need to hurry home, we will take a short drive to Tirana and a liner with silver wings :)

Citizens of Ukraine do not need a visa to Albania. From documents you need only a valid passport.
You must have no illnesses from this list in order to participate in the hike.

Teamleader will be waiting for you at the hotel in Shkoder. A week before the hike we will send you an email with the exact place and time to meet the group - check your email. You have to get to Shkoder from Tirana on your own by shuttle bus. It is very easy (94 km), the manager will tell you how to get this town.
As always, we recommend that you buy your tickets in advance, but only after we confirm your participation in the hike.

Surely you are wondering what we will eat on a hike? Let's just say that you don't have to worry. Many participants say they eat better on the hike than they do at home. The basis of the menu is a simple meal of cereals and soups. You should not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat any products, be sure to inform the manager so that the guide can slightly adjust the menu for you. We also recommend taking some yummies with you - nuts or sweets. Appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu shown is indicative only. Team leaders usually have their signature dishes that they love to pamper participants with.
Features of nutrition for vegetarians - if you do not eat meat, be sure to read. We tell here how we will feed you and at the same time we give you a 5% discount to the hiking.
We will live in pre-booked guest houses. Clean bedding, shower and internet access will be important for those who are going hiking for the first time. At the same time, the hotels are located in the mountains and often have gorgeous views of the mountains right from the window.

The total amount of obligatory additional expenses will be about 70 euros. These funds will be used to get from Tirana airport to the bus station back and forth, as well as water/ice cream along the route. We recommend carrying more money with you for local food tastings and incidental expenses.
