According to the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler magazine, the Fishermen's Trail is one of the 6 most beautiful coastal trails in the world. The route runs right along the wild rocks of the Atlantic, along one of the best-preserved coastlines in southwestern Europe through the enchanting Alentejo region. This adventure will give you the opportunity to experience the real Portugal. We will walk along pristine beaches and traditional fishing villages. We will taste wine and seafood. And most importantly: the entire journey will take place along the Atlantic Ocean, where it is very beautiful and warm.
These are the places that still smell like the "real" Portugal, where it is quiet, there is no fast food and crowds of tourists. Villages away from the tourist routes of the southern Algarve. Cozy towns with white and blue houses are waiting for you. You will need to carry water with you, from village to village, which will be along the route at the beginning and end of the day. Every day we will walk 15-20 km in the sand - a comfortable distance to walk at a quiet pace and admire the beauties. The route is divided into stages, at the end of each stage there is necessarily a small village or town. To make your trip more comfortable, you can additionally order a luggage transfer service.

Meet the group in Lisbon, check into the hotel. We get acquainted and go for a walk around the city.
Lisbon is a city that inspires. We recommend walking in Lisbon or taking the old yellow streetcar to get a real sense of the atmosphere of this city. We leave our backpacks in the hotel and take the 28 streetcar to Alfama, which is the soul of the city. It is the second oldest district in Europe. Alfama consists of narrow streets and alleys that go up and down with buildings finished in azulejo ceramic tiles. From here we have a view of the Tagus River. Next we move to the center for a ride on the Santa Justa elevator. From the top there is a panorama of the entire Baixa district, with views of Rossio Square, St. George's Castle, Se Cathedral and the Tagus River. It is possible to climb to the top platform.
In the evening we go to the small village of Odeseishe. Check in to the hostel.
The morning begins with breakfast, but before we head out along the ocean, we take a walk in the narrow streets of Odesaisha and go up to the windmill, one of the few that still works and can be visited. Around the windmill there are wooden paths and benches where you can sit and admire the city.
Next we are waiting for a fascinating 15-kilometer circular route to the ocean through the dunes. In the evening, dinner.
Distance: 15 km. Approximate duration: 4.5 hours.
Today is one of the most challenging days. You're going to love it. The route will be along the ocean, so the day will be filled with the noise of the waves. There will be many grottos along the way. The trail follows wooden decks that run along the beach dunes and are laid out along the Atlantic Ocean. They will lead us directly to the village of Zambogeira do Mar.
Distance: 18.5 km, 7 hours in the hiking.
The trail is flat, with many little bird paw prints on the sand, storks on the rocks, and the sweet scent of pine needles. The sun bounces off the turquoise waves of the ocean. It's a nice day.
The high cliffs throughout this part of the trip are nesting grounds for more than twenty species of birds! These include the eider, elk, common kestrel, "clear" rock dove, white stork, peregrine falcon, and black shrike. We will spend ample time stopping and observing these birds.
After trekking - check in to the guesthouse. And in the evening we will go to the beach - the sunsets in Portugal are fantastic.
Distance: 22 km, 7 hours in the hiking.
The trail passes by the ocean in some places and near farmland in others. There will be time to observe the birds and the ocean. Vila Nova de Milfontes is a small beautiful town where we will spend the night and, grabbing some delicious wine, celebrate the end of another day on the beach, gazing at the sunset.
Distance: 15.5 km, 5.5 hours in the hiking.
This is the last day of the trek. The ocean and the wind are still with us. They complement each other, remaining good friends. As, hopefully, do you and I after such a beautiful journey.
The route will be along the ocean along scenic cliffs among fabulous bays. Incredible views of the ocean will make us stop and pull out our camera more than once. I promise that the ocean will not bore you, on the contrary, you'll catch yourself thinking that you miss it. In the evening you check in to the hotel and have dinner in a cafe in the fishing village of Porto Covo.
Distance: 20 km, 8 hours in the hiking.
After waking up in the morning, you can take your time getting ready and walk along the beach in Porto Covo. Today our trip ends, and we leave for the capital by bus at 11:05. In two hours, those who wish can continue exploring Lisbon.
For those who fly home a few days later, you can plan to continue your vacation by the ocean.

Ukraine's airspace is closed due to the war, so you need to think more carefully about the route and allow more time to get to Lisbon.
Often, participants traveling from Ukraine cross the border by bus or train, and then fly to Lisbon from neighboring countries.
You can consider flights from Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania. Please note that most European low-cost airlines do not include luggage in the initial ticket price. You need to choose a package of services with luggage, or order it as a separate item.
Getting from the airport to Lisbon is very easy, as the airport is located within the city. Take the metro - this is the cheapest way to get to the hotel, buy a “24 Hour Pass” from the vending machine at the entrance to the metro station - metro/buses, trams, Carris funiculars - 6.40 €.
To find the most convenient flight option, compare prices on aggregator sites and check them directly with airlines. Don't be afraid to take 1-2 days off. Sometimes it's cheaper than taking a ticket for the exact dates of the trip, even with accommodation and meals in Portugal

The group meets in Lisbon. Detailed information on the meeting place and the contacts of the guide will be sent to you 7-10 days before the start of the hike, be sure to check your email!
Accommodation on the route is in colorful small towns. These are hostels/hotels in one- or two-story buildings; rooms for 4-6 people with internet, hot water, laundry facilities, and breakfast.
Breakfast at the hotels, for lunch the teamleader purchases food for snacks for the whole group. Dinner participants choose according to their wishes and preferences - this is a great opportunity to taste the local delicacies. Dinner is not included in the cost of the hike.
Minimum group for this program: 5 participants. We have calculated the costs for a smaller number, but increased them slightly. So as not to be in the red ourselves.

The total amount of additional costs that are not included in the price will be from 250 euros for food (depending on how you eat in cafes) and out-of-pocket expenses (souvenirs, excursions - at your own discretion and at will). You can dine in a cafe for about €25-35 (per person). Gourmets will surely want to bring home a variety of cheeses and try local seafood, so keep this in mind :) We advise you to have 100-200 euros on your card in reserve.
