Traveling through the TOP locations of the entire Lycian Trail in Turkey - in a week from Fethiye to Antalya. All the best of the famous trail in an expedition format - traveling by car, hiking in the mountains, living in mountain houses and villas on the coast, always very good food.
This is a trip for those who want a mix: climb a mountain and relax by the sea. Who enjoys exploring places not familiar to many. For those who can't spend all day in a sun lounger, want to go to the mountains, love nature and can't imagine themselves in a noisy hotel. Traveling along the Lycian Trail gives great pleasure from driving a car - quality pavement, almost no oncoming cars - are you a driver? Then you will love it here!
The Lycian Trail can also be traveled with a backpack. It is magnificent and in any format gives impressions. And as its popularity grows, guesthouses, campgrounds and roads are being built. Places where tents stood as recently as last season have already been fenced off for hotel construction. The appeal of backpacking is changing, and the search for new experiences and the roads built are opening up a new format of traveling! And this is probably the kind of trip whose format allows you to invite a friend or family from the "all inclusive" world and show a new world of adventure.
Cars allow you to reach garish places, clear sea, high mountains. But they are only a part of the big plan, and the main time is spent in active activities:
By traveling by car we will be able to visit maximum interesting places and enjoy our stay in Turkey. We will make a 900 km ring from Dalaman to Dalaman passing through the following cities - Ölüdeniz, Kalkan, Kaş, Kaleüçağız, Demre, Adrasan, Çıralı, Kemer, Antalya, Elmalı, Fethiye

We have been working on the trails of southern Turkey for many years. Our team has explored almost everything that was possible, explored the Lycian Trail with all its branches and little-visited areas. We know a lot about insta-places and gastronomy! And, perhaps, we offer the only way to cover the western, central and eastern trail in just a week, visiting places that sometimes remain unreachable by hiking. We hope that this tour to Turkey will be one of your most vivid memories.
Most low-cost flights from Poland and Germany land in Turkey in the late afternoon. If possible, arrive a day earlier before the program starts. The consultant will choose one of the hotels in Fethiye, where the group will meet for dinner.
In the morning, around 10:00, the team leader meets the group at the hotel. If there are registered drivers among the participants, they will receive a car in Fethiye in advance. The trip will begin with a sightseeing trip around the peninsula, which gives an idea of what awaits next - here are the tombs, beaches, cliffs and the first route marking, the famous red and white markings will be found every day. In 30 km we will walk through the ghost town of Kayaköy, a walk of about 50 minutes. Nearby is the famous stele of the Lycian Trail with the zero kilometer, where hiking groups start. For lunch, we will go to one of the fish restaurants of Oludeniz.
The section of the road in the afternoon delights almost all participants - a narrow road along the sea, which sometimes rises quite rapidly. This very beautiful stretch brings us to the Valley of the Meteleks. But instead of standing in a popular place with a cohort of other cars, we will continue on and go to the hiking, to the best viewpoint, and then continue along the trail to Aktash beach. We will walk about 4 km.
We check into a guest house in the last rays of the sun. The owners usually offer to try their local dishes, which are very tasty.
We probably had a cozy evening, so today we woke up completely rested. The beautiful, narrow road without oncoming cars exactly follows the classic route of the Lycian Trail. We arrive at the most popular viewpoint on Oludeniz, where you can spend a lot of time gazing at the landscape.
We return to the car and drive through the Baba Dag - Pinara pass to Alinca, where our next hike along the most beautiful section of the Lycian Trail starts.
In the afternoon, we will arrive in Yediburunlar, a small, remote village where local housewives are used to treating tourists with their dishes. It's very authentic and interesting - the group lights the oven and kneads the dough. Continuing to explore Likyika, we drive along a dirt road, which is not clearly marked on the map but is often used by the locals, to the wide Patara beach. These huge dunes, by Turkish standards, the wind, the special vibe of the sunset over the sea.
The last transfer to the cozy town of Kash. Today we should take a walk along its streets and enjoy a meal in a restaurant.
We head to a private yacht and head out into the bay. We swim near the shore and jump off the ladder. After two hours of relaxing and enjoying the comfortable sun on the waves, we sail to the island of Kekova. Slowly we sail over the sunken city and tombs protruding from the water.
At noon we will be in the city of Demre, where we will have lunch and walk around the ancient city of Myra. We will spend the next hour in the car, moving to Cape Helidonia. It is worth noting that in the morning, when we left the city of Kas, we completed the exploration of the western part of the Lycian Trail, and in the evening of the same day we reached the lighthouse where the eastern part ends (hikers move from Antalya to Helidonia, and we vice versa). Another sunset and a hike to the lighthouse, which offers a magnificent view of small islands and one of the extreme points of Turkey on the map, are added to our treasury of impressions.
Not far from Cape Helidonia, we stop at a farmhouse with many fruit trees around it.
Today we can say that we have a day to rest from moving. Although they have not been long until now, today's move is the shortest - we will move from one house to another in just 30-40 minutes. If yesterday we spent the night surrounded by trees, this time our house is located by the sea, and we will spend the day on the beach and walking without a car.
So, we are greeted by a cozy, very friendly and unforgettable beach in Cirali. Here we will spend the day exploring the sharp, lava peaks near the house, the ancient city of Olympus, and in the darkness we will go to the burning lights of Chimera. It's an easy day with plenty of time to yourself - go hiking if you want, or if the weather is nice, enjoy a few hours by the sea.
Are we going to climb to an altitude of 2350 meters? The plan is to climb to the top of Takhtala. We will be driven to a modern cable car, and in 30 minutes we will be at cloud level. Of course, the value of this peak is especially felt when you reach it with a backpack on a hike. But we are not lagging behind and will accomplish our own feat! After admiring the 360-degree panoramic views and taking photos, we will start the hiking descent. It runs through Lebanese cedars - unique trees that exude a strong aroma and are very different from anything we have seen before. For many people, meeting these trees becomes a key event of the day :)
After a busy day of hiking, we get back to the car and head towards Antalya, a city that hosts many tourists in the center and is famous for its high-quality hammams where you can recuperate. We will book an apartment on the outskirts of the city to avoid traffic jams in the morning and return to the mountains faster.
We are leaving the big city. Today we will have the longest and most exciting ride. The first 70 kilometers will be on the highway, but later we will turn onto narrow roads leading through apple and grape plantations. Gradually, as we rise out of the forest zone, where there are many trees, we will gain an altitude of almost 2000 meters. This is immediately noticeable in the scenery - rocky landscapes prevail here, where the only plants that can withstand the harsh conditions are junipers. We will leave our cars on a small plain among the mountains, which can hardly be called a parking lot, put on all warm clothes and head to a short but impressive track. This place reminds us a bit of Scandinavia - a lake spread out among the mountains, waterfalls that we see and hear around us. This magical route is not part of the Lycian Trail, it is an exclusive of our trip to Turkey. But this is not the only surprise for today. As we descend from the mountains, we will visit a local fisherman and a famous chef who is visited by people from even big cities for his fried trout. He rarely receives tourists, but always with great joy, especially when he has the opportunity to treat Ukrainians :)
Around 15:00 we will set off on the final stretch along the mountain serpentine, approaching the Saklikent Canyon. If we are on schedule and the sun has not yet set, we will visit a secret location - a place that overlooks a large gorge, but can only be reached through small bushes without paths. This site will be known only to you.
Around 20:00 we will check into a guest house near the entrance to the canyon.
This is probably the only morning when it is really worth waking up at dawn. There are places on our way that are usually filled with tourists, but the groups only arrive at noon. In the first rays of the sun, Saklikent Canyon and the waterfalls look especially magical when there are no crowds. Our walk through what is possibly the largest canyon in Turkey will last about two hours, and we will take our time. Sometimes we'll have to help each other climb 1-2 meters by giving each other a hand. This is an incredible place, and we will leave it deeply impressed.
We will be near the cars at about 11:00. The drivers will turn on music that suits the mood, and we will set off along a winding road to the familiar Oludeniz. We will stop in the city only if one of us wants to buy an additional attraction - paragliding. In the off-season, it often happens that the weather does not allow us to fly, so we cannot guarantee it.
We will have lunch in the city of Fethiye, where we will return the cars and take a shuttle to the airport. For those who want to stay, the team leader will help you get to the hotel if possible.
Departures from Dalaman are best planned for after 4 pm, but if your flight is later, there is a plan B - cozy houses with a veranda where you can spend time enjoying a drink and a delicious dinner while waiting for your flight.
Depending on the weather conditions and general wishes of the group, the teamleader has the right to make changes to the route.
Entrances and approaches to the best parts of the Lycian Trail for 500 kilometers. It is especially interesting for those who have hiked there. To see what remained unreached on foot. Resort towns, fishing villages, tomato plantations, olive groves. This is an alternative Turkey that is not shown in the announcements. The emphasis is on bays outside of cities and places that are not often visited by tourists. There is a detailed plan and the ability to flexibly organize it to suit the mood of the team and the weather.
During the trip we can drive up to 1100km on good asphalt and about 300km on mixed, sometimes not very good surface - tile and clay. Our cars are sedans, 3 participants and 1 driver, or minibuses 8 + 1 in a comfortable configuration. The driver can be a participant. Group size = seats in the car. Almost always collect four cars or 14 people + 2 team leaders.
After the Lycian Trail program by car, we recommend the following routes:
We wake up and go out to the terrace of the house, where the owners serve breakfast (included in the price).
Lunches are in delicious kebab and vegetable places. Turkish food is more than affordable. It's 20 or even 30% cheaper than most cafes in our cities, and the taste and quality are amazing. We stop by familiar places while driving, perhaps order online, or, even better, go to seasonal vegetable shops. Everyone will choose their preferred meal (not included) and create their own diet.
Dinners are shared, with delicacies from the local market. We cook on charcoal, boil and fry. The team leader makes a suggestion for a dish, we buy it from the general budget, cook together (not included), or go to restaurants.
During the trip, you can drive up to 700 km on good asphalt and about 200 km on mixed, sometimes strange surfaces - tiles and clay. Our cars are sedans, 3 participants and 1 driver, or 8+1 minibuses in a comfortable configuration. The driver can be a participant. Group size = number of seats in the car. We almost always collect three cars or 11 participants + 1 team leader.
The program includes hiking along the following sections of the Western Trail: Oludeniz - Kozagach; Farallah (Valley of the Butterflies) - Aktash Beach; Alinca - Sidima; Sands of the long Patara Beach; Kaleuchagiz - Kekova;
Sections of the Eastern part: Pirate Bay - Helidonia Lighthouse; Cirili - bays and the city of Olympus, Chimera lights; Yaylakuzdere (Chukuryaila) - Takhtali; and many more areas that are really interesting, but not marked with the Lycian Trail. We found them while exploring Turkey and now we will show you.
Most participants, when they learn the details of the program, invite their friends and relatives (family). Imagine how convenient it is to ride in a car that is customized for you, the logistics are thought out and everything is booked under the responsibility of the club! In addition to a car for 4, you can take smaller cars - there are compact hatchbacks with automatic transmission, for mom and kids (fathers rarely drive). And if you are a driver, the experience of the trip will be even greater - after the first day, many people want to drive, drive and drive!
