The Matterhorn is the seventh highest mountain in the Alps (4477.5 meters) and the most beautiful in the entire region. If not in the whole world. The canonical outline of the Matterhorn is well known from the famous Toblerone chocolate. The peak is the hallmark of Switzerland, which has inspired desperate men and women for 73 years to try to touch its summit.
It is believed that with the ascent of the Matterhorn the "Golden Age of Mountaineering" ended, but for us it is just beginning...
We offer you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Swiss Alps in the format of traditional European hiking - a hike in which you comfortably travel from one mountain hut to another (hut to hut), admiring the Matterhorn from all sides. No heavy backpacks, no tents, with overnight stays in comfortable alpine chalets along the route.

A Ukrainian team leader with extensive mountain experience will be with you throughout the trip, relieve you of any organizational worries and point out the best photo locations.
We do not cancel or reschedule groups. If the manager has given you the go-ahead to buy a ticket, you can buy it. The program will not be canceled through our fault.
We will stay in pre-booked mountain hotels, which are located in unique places and are a work of art in themselves. Clean bedding, shower and internet access will be important for those who are going on a hike for the first time.

On this day, participants arrive in Zurich, Geneva, Nice, Basel, or Milan and take a train to Zermatt.
After a meeting and a short acquaintance, they will visit the Matterhorn Mountain Museum and take a walk around the city.
Overnight at the Hotel Bahnhof.
Today we will start the ascent from Zermatt and cross the Zmuth Valley. At about 18:00, brave travelers will be well rewarded with a 3-course dinner with dessert in a nice restaurant at the Hotel Schwarzsee chalet at an altitude of 2694 meters. They say that the breakfasts here are delicious - so let's spend the night here!
Today we will leave our backpacks at the Hotel Schwarzsee, take only water and a snack and walk to the Matterhorn Base Camp with an altitude of 677 m - it's about 4 hours of ascent + descent.
Some sections of the road are not very easy - but do not be nervous - the famous alpine "via ferrata" will come to our aid - iron brackets driven into the rocks, making the way easier for climbers and us.
On the way to the walls of the Matterhorn, we will admire the Schwarzsee Lake and take a break and eat at the famous mountain shelter "Hörnli Hut" (3260 m), which is practically the base camp for the ascent to the Matterhorn - this is where all climbers start. The hut was built in 1880 by the Swiss Alpine Club.
A little more up the Hörnli Ridge, and we will touch the Matterhorn itself! From here it's just a vertical wall.
After taking memorable photos, we return to the place of overnight stay.

Today we are going to visit the famous Matterhorn Glacier Trail!
We again head to the Gernli Hut, but turn left and travel among the high mountain landscape formed by rocks and many small glacial lakes that emerged on the site of a large glacier that retreated as recently as 150 years ago.
From this angle, the Mother City looks like an almost perfect triangle, with a completely vertical, polished wall that glistens in the sun. The views are alien!
We were so excited that we didn't notice how we had reached the starting point of the Matterhorn Glacier Trail - the Trockener Steg cable car station. Less than an hour later, we arrived at the place to spend the night - the old mountain hotel Gandegg Hut (Gandegghütte) at an altitude of 3029 meters. It still remembers the times when the glacier had not melted.
We spend the night overlooking the beautiful Monte Rosa mountain.
Distance: 7 km; ascent/descent: 600 m
After admiring the pink dawn peaks of the Klein Matterhorn and Breitgorn from the window of the Gandegg Hut, we head to the famous Riffelsee, where we take unrivaled photos of the Matterhorn reflected in the calm surface of the lake.
After that we will head to the Gorner Glacier (part of it called Grenz Glacier), which we need to cross today.
Overnight in the futuristic Monte Rosa Hut at 2883 meters with views of Monte Rosa itself, glaciers and Lyskamm Peak.
Distance: 8 km.
After enjoying the extraordinary atmosphere of Monte Rosa Hut, we head back across the glacier and the picturesque Rotenboden area to Lake Riffel and then to the Fluhalp Hut where we will spend the night at an altitude of 2606 meters.
All day long, Matterhorn will be right in front of us!
Distance: 18.5 km
Today we are going to hike the famous 5 Lakes Hike. Radial hike from the Fluhalp Hut with a return to the same mountain hotel.
We will see consistently:
After the last lake, we will take the cable car up into the mountains to the village of Rothorn to cool off, have some tea and head back down to the Fluhalp Hut. We will meet the sunset on the warm wooden terrace of the hotel.

Today we will return to Zermatt.
After breakfast, we start our descent. The day is easy, calm and varied in terms of scenery.
In the afternoon, the group will be near the train station. Participants can stay in the resort town or go to large cities with airports.The unforgettable trekking around the Matterhorn is over, full of impressions and beautiful photos, we return home.
To visit Switzerland, you must have a valid Schengen or biometric passport. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the trip. We will help you with visa application.

If you've been to the Carpathians and climbed Hoverla or Petros, then a summer hike in the Alps may be an additional challenge for you only because of the slightly higher altitude, to which, however, the body adapts in a few days. That's why our program is designed so that the first day we stay in Zermatt, a town at an altitude of 1600 meters, to let you get used to these mountains before climbing higher. If you don't have any serious cardiovascular diseases, this hike is quite possible for you!
Yes, Switzerland is an expensive country, but we have included all basic expenses in the program price - all accommodation in Zermatt and on the route. Also, the price of accommodation in all mountain hotels (except for the base hotel in Zermatt) includes breakfast and dinner. In addition to expensive restaurants, Zermatt has a large selection of inexpensive cafes that offer decent food. In the mountains, you can dine in shelters on the way (25-30 francs for a set meal) or prepare snacks in advance, taking goodies from Zermatt. The only additional costs in Switzerland are transfers to and from Zermatt and souvenirs.
This trip can be the most beautiful of your life, especially if you have never visited Switzerland or the Alps in general. We promise! Matterhorn is an incredibly attractive mountain, but it's not just about it.
The Swiss Alps themselves are a unique ecosystem that instantly conquers anyone who looks at it and drags even those who did not initially think about a mountain hike into the mountains. It is a country of culture and people completely shaped by the mountains. You can't miss it!
