Hiking in Greece and climbing the highest mountain - Olympus

10 days, 110 km and a very intense day hiking, which will be accompanied only by pleasant fatigue. The difficulty of the route through the mountains of Greece is above average. Here you will pass sections with a distance of 14 km/day. And the altitude gain and decline will range from 1200 m to 1600 m. Stony steep paths will not prevent you from visiting the most interesting places in the country, because the track is designed for the category of tourists who want to go through it without heavy backpacks.

Climbing Olympus may require ice axes, so we took care of this in advance by booking them for the dates of the planned tours. KULUAR always takes care of its "own" one step ahead, so it prepares for the most difficult. 6 days, 44 km, 5-18 km daily. It's worth noting that the pace of this hike in Montenegro is quite comfortable, as the 16 km distance will take about 6-8 hours. During the whole vacation you will stay in houses, so we leave your things there. This tour is also suitable for children who already have experience in mountain trekking.

In general, you understand, you will not have to carry backpacks, which greatly facilitates this type of tourism in Albania. You will be invited to spend the night in pre-booked guest houses. By the way, they are located in the mountains, so you will have stunning views from the window as well 😉

Hiking to the highest mountain in Bulgaria - Musala Peak

A busy week with backpackers - daily walking from 10 to 17 km. We characterized the difficulty of this trekking in Bulgaria as above average. Therefore, in order to set a comfortable pace of trails, we recommend preparing for the hike in advance.

Despite the fact that Bulgaria is associated with warmth and the sea, it is worth understanding that at night (even in summer) the temperature in the mountains can drop to +5. Therefore, it is worth knowing how to choose quality trekking boots and how to dress when it's cold, and, of course, what equipment to have with you - it depends on the same backpack that you will wear for all the days and until travel mat.

What's in store? Mountain trails will lead you through breathtaking views to countless lakes that have settled high in the mountains. When is it better to go on vacation to the Balkan Mountains

The climate in the north of the Balkan Peninsula and in the central regions is temperate continental, with cold and snowy winters and hot and dry summers. Below is information by month.

Summer (July and August) is the high season for tourism in the Balkan Mountains. And no wonder, because it's a great time for outdoor activities. That's why KULUAR, keeping up with the times and comfort, has already prepared the best tracks for the summer period.

• Weather: Daytime temperatures can reach 25-30°C in the valleys and slightly lower in the mountains. Nights are warm (15-20°C), but can still be cool (5-10°C) at higher altitudes.
• Advantages: ideal conditions for hiking, camping, mountaineering and water activities.
• Disadvantages: large number of tourists, high prices for accommodation.

The off-season period includes the spring months (April and May) and autumn months (September and October) - this is the time when you can enjoy the beauty of nature to the fullest and feel the true spirit of the region without the large crowds of tourists

• Weather: quite comfortable temperature - during the day it varies from 10°C to 20°C, nights become cooler (4-7°C).
• Autumn colors make the Balkans especially colorful - the forests adorn the mountains with yellow and red landscapes. The flowering of nature in spring is impressive, and there are great chances to see local wildlife in their natural environment.
• Disadvantages: frequent rains are possible in October-November and April-May (especially in mountainous areas).

December through March is the time for winter sports. Ski resorts open their doors to fans of snowy adventures.

• Weather: Daytime temperatures can range from -5°C to +5°C, depending on the altitude. Nights are cold, with possible severe frosts.
• Advantages: ideal conditions for skiing and snowboarding, fewer tourists in towns and villages.
• Disadvantages: cold temperatures, possible snow storms, limited access to some routes due to snow.

Be prepared for weather variability, it can change quickly in the mountains, so always take the appropriate things with you - both sunscreen and a dress for beautiful photos, as well as a membrane jacket or windbreaker, which will be needed as you gain altitude 🙂
