An extremely popular and scenic route around Mont Blanc in the European trekking format – staying in mountain refuges and hiking with a light daypack.
In 4 days we will cross the territories of three countries: Italy, Switzerland, and France. We will see Mont Blanc from different angles, enjoy the beauty of the Alps and incredible mountain lakes.
🤗 Perfect for beginners and those who don't want to stay in tents or carry heavy backpacks.
We also have other hiking options in the Alps:
Almost every day – a new country! Where else does this happen? Italy, Switzerland, and France!
Short, intense, with accommodation in mountain huts. Primarily for those currently in Europe
We do not cancel or reschedule groups. If the consultant has given the go-ahead to buy a ticket, you can safely purchase it. There will be no cancellation of the program due to our fault.
Experienced Kuluar team leaders will accompany the group along the entire route, making your trip as safe and unforgettable as possible!
The consultant will help you prepare for the trek and answer all your questions
Over 12,000 participants have already traveled with Kuluar, and 98.7% were satisfied. We're confident you will be too!
Italy. Courmayeur (Val Ferret) – Rifugio Walter Bonatti
We meet in Val Ferret (Courmayeur, Italy) by 14:30. We get acquainted and, without wasting time, begin our hike.
Today the trail leads continuously uphill, but we'll be accompanied and inspired by breathtaking views of the Alps. We spend the night at the Walter Bonatti mountain hut. All European mountain refuges are a separate story and an example of how to organically blend into the surrounding nature.
Distance: 6 km, ascent: 550 m, descent: 50 m
Switzerland. Crossing to La Fouly
The program is incredibly intense – imagine, in 4 days we will walk through three countries on foot! We begin the climb to the Swiss border, at the top of which a breathtaking view of the south face of Mont Blanc awaits us. Who knows, maybe at this very moment you'll feel the urge to one day make a Mont Blanc ascent?
We pass the highest point of our route – the Grand Ferret Pass (2536 m), after which we begin our descent. Along the way we will encounter several local farms where you can try local cheese.
Distance: 20 km, ascent: 1000 m, descent: 1300 m
Switzerland. Crossing to Trient
We'll start the day with a descent through a picturesque pine forest, which will serve as a warm-up before the climb to the Bovine mountain restaurant. We'll deservedly stop for lunch with some of the best views around. Besides your usual snack, you can also order something from the local cuisine.
After refueling, we descend through the Col de la Forclaz pass, an important point on the famous Tour De France cycling race.
We'll stop for the night in the picturesque Swiss village of Trient.
Distance: 18 km, ascent: 800 m, descent: 1000 m
The final day of our short program. We head to France through the Col De Balme pass, which offers some of the most beautiful views of Mont Blanc. We descend to the town of Le Tour, from where a bus (with a connection in Chamonix) can get you to Geneva Airport by around 17:30. You can fly out the same day, or stay one more night in Le Tour, Chamonix, or Geneva. We recommend choosing Chamonix.
This concludes our short but eventful journey through the Alps. For some, this will be an introduction to the mountains, and for others, to this kind of trekking format. But we're sure you're already planning and choosing your next adventure with KULUAR! See you soon!
Distance: 11 km, ascent: 970 m, descent: 1200 m
Depending on weather conditions, the group's condition, and general preferences, the team leader has the right to make changes to the route.
To visit France, Italy, and Switzerland, you need a valid Schengen or biometric passport. We will help you with visa arrangements.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date – please check this before buying flights.
To participate in the trek, you must not have any of the conditions listed here.
After completing the Mont Blanc Circuit, we recommend the following routes:
We stay in mountain lodges – cozy houses in picturesque spots among the mountains. Some of them can only be reached by helicopter, so the conditions are modest (despite the price). Rooms are shared, up to 8 people. However, all the refuges have a toilet, wi-fi, and a shower.
Pillow and blanket are included in the price, but you need to have your own sleeping bag liner (or a set of sheets).
A sleeping bag liner is a thin silk cover for a sleeping bag, used together with it for hygienic purposes. It takes up very little space, so we recommend it.
Sometimes a room upgrade is possible on-site for an additional fee.
As always, we recommend buying tickets in advance. You should only buy tickets after we confirm your participation in the trip.
You can find our recommendations for flight selection services in this article
There are direct buses from Geneva airport to Courmayeur, the trip takes about 2.5 hours. Plan your arrival time so you can be in Courmayeur by 15:00. Please note that we need the Val Ferret stop specifically.
To participate in the program, you need insurance that covers mountain trekking. Please don't neglect this point. For some participants, it has saved thousands of euros. You can find our recommendations for getting insurance here: "Insurance for Kuluar trip participants"
We recommend bringing the equivalent of about 150 euros. In many places, you can only pay with cash. In Switzerland, it's better to have Swiss francs, but euros are accepted too, though not at the most favorable rate.
We recommend bringing up to 150 € for souvenirs and food in cafes.
*Please note: it is not the consultant's task to select individual flights for each participant. The consultant gives general recommendations based on their experience and shares other participants' flights so you can fly together. Selecting and purchasing a convenient flight ticket is the participant's own responsibility. If you would like the consultant to buy you a plane ticket, book a hotel, or arrange an additional excursion, please check the conditions on the page: additional services.
To book a place in the group, you need to make an advance payment of 150 euros. The consultant will send you the details.
