A two-day program for future travelers near Lviv. Parents and their children try camping life in comfortable conditions. We spend the night in a tent in a picturesque place in the Carpathians, cooking over a fire. Our camping is made comfortable and safe by accommodation on a private plot with a shower, gazebos, a spring and gas appliances (camping). Under the supervision of a traveler and an experienced children's mentor, the kids and their parents go hiking in the mountains. It can be either the first acquaintance with tents, backpack and camp life, or honing of the skills already acquired from previous trips.
The mission of the program is to give the child a positive impression of the mountains so that in some time he or she will want to go on a full-fledged hike with you.

We will teach children how to pitch tents, make a fire, tie knots, have fun and play games. Children and parents will be pleasantly surprised by the Carpathian region, where we will be hiking. Beech and spruce forests, fancy rocks and huge stones - you just won't have time to get bored!
Although we sleep in tents, we have already prepared equal places for them. We have access to warm showers and toilets, tables and chairs, and lighting in the camp.
We will definitely cook a healthy dinner on the fire! And in the hike, outside the campsite, we have modern burners and equipment that provides the whole group with hot drinks :)
Team leaders are people for whom the mountains are a combination of hobby and profession. With their vast experience, they will be happy to open the world of mountains to you and your children, do it safely and in such a way that you fall in love with hiking.
The team leader will meet you at the train station and take you to the starting point to the mountains in comfortable transport ordered in advance. The team leader will also show you places that are breathtaking. We will take into account the different experience of children in the mountains: both beginners and travelers who are not the first time in the campaign.

This hike is best suited to teach children about active lifestyle and show them the beauty of nature. We do it gently and pleasantly for all participants. We can't do without friendship, team building and full involvement in the processes taking place during the hike. The team leader has a lot of diverse and informative activities for a large and cheerful children's company. Adults and children will love the places - picturesque rocks and views from the ridge, sunsets in the mountains, heartfelt conversations and gatherings around the campfire. And when several generations sit around the same campfire, it means that an intelligent, strong and healthy nation is growing before our eyes :)
Meeting with the team leader at 9:30 a.m. in Stryi at the train station. Most trains from Lviv arrive with a difference of a few minutes. We wait for the whole team and take a chartered bus to the camp site. We spend about 40 minutes on the road.
At 11:30 a.m., the team leader will invite parents and children to the table for brunch in a cozy gazebo, and will also play a get-to-know-you game. The next task will be to build a house! Parents and young travelers will set up tents, put things away and prepare small backpacks for a walk in the mountains.
At 14:30, we go out through the beech forests, first to the rocks, where we walk for half an hour and explore nature. We come to a meadow, where we cook hot drinks and snacks on the burners and talk to the children. The trip already makes it clear that all the necessary things and food can be packed in a backpack, and, just as importantly, it should be carried on your shoulders. We will discuss different situations that can happen in a hike and how to solve them. Then we will go down to the campsite. The whole walk will take us up to 4 hours.
At about 19:30, dinner will be ready, and we will involve the entire team of volunteers in its preparation. We will light a fire and tell stories in front of the evening campfire, play games and share our impressions of the day.
Camping - rocks of Yushkova Yama - camping - Stryy
In the morning, we pack up the camp and head out into the mountains. We leave the things we don't need for the hike in the campsite. On this day we go on a longer hike of 6 km, through the meadows. Depending on the season, we get acquainted with the herbs that we collect for tea at the halt.
The finish line of our hike in three hours will be the mountain cliffs of Yushkova Yama, located to the west of the start. You can even see a cave among the rocks! After lunch, we descend to the village, where many Boyko huts have been preserved. We will walk through the village for another 2 km to the campsite, where we will stay for an hour and prepare an early dinner.
We will share the knowledge and impressions we have gained during this weekend. The bus will arrive at 17:30 to take our team to the train station in Stryi. Starting at 19:00, trains will depart for Lviv and other major cities.
Depending on the weather conditions and general wishes of the group, the leader has the right to make changes to the route.
In general, the Carpathians are a rather rainy region, so you need to be prepared for anything - we always take a raincoat! It's better to be safe than sorry!

The permissible age for participation in a hike in the Carpathians with children is from 5 years old. It is desirable to have both parents present, but one parent is enough. There are so many interesting things in the Carpathians! Children under the age of 15 get a 20% discount.
If your child is 3-4 years old and you want to instill in him or her the experience of hiking, you can join the group too.
As always, we recommend buying tickets in advance, although there are often still seats available on trains a week before the start of the hike. You need to buy a ticket so that you can be at the train station in Stryi by 9:30 am on the day of the hike start. A slight delay is acceptable. We buy a ticket back in the evening, we know that most trains depart from 19:00 to 20:00, by this time we will deliver you to Stryi.
You should buy tickets only after we confirm your participation in the trip, you can do it at the ticket office at the railway station, online on the Ukrzaliznytsia website, or, if you are going by electric train, on the spot in the carriage.
The weather in the Carpathians is very changeable, so you need to prepare for its surprises in advance. The first thing to remember is that rain is not uncommon here, so you should definitely take a raincoat and a high-quality tent with you. Second, it can be cool in the evenings. Take warm clothes for the evening.
You're probably wondering what we're going to eat on the trip. We can tell you right away that you don't need to worry. Many participants say that they eat better on a hike than at home. The menu is based on simple food from cereals and soups. Do not count on gourmet delicacies (although they may be available).
If you don't eat any foods, be sure to let the consultant know so that the team leader can adjust the menu for you. We also recommend that you bring some pocket-sized treats, such as nuts or sweets. The appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the presented menu is indicative. Team leaders usually have their own signature dishes that they like to treat participants to.

One of the charms of a hike in the Carpathians is the abundance of berries and mushrooms. But you need to be careful here! Before you eat something from the berries, you should always ask the team leader if it is edible. The most delicious and popular berries are undoubtedly blueberries and raspberries, but you can also eat lingonberries, blueberries and blackberries.
Mushrooms are abundant in the Carpathians and can often diversify your diet. We recommend taking only white ones and cooking them well. Ask your team leader about the possibility of diluting your diet with mushrooms.
The program provides for mandatory additional costs for transfers. You can check the amount with a consultant, as it depends on the cost of fuel and is constantly changing.
There are also optional expenses. Participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs and sometimes have dinner in a restaurant after the tour. We recommend having at least 300 UAH with you. The maximum is up to you.
We limit the number of participants in the group. In order for a place to be reserved for you, you need to make an advance payment of 1000 UAH. The rest of the amount is given to the team leader at the meeting.
