During the 21-day tour in Patagonia we will be able to fully experience all the charms of South America and the maximum privacy with nature.
Visit two South American countries at once - Chile and Argentina
We do not cancel or shift groups. If the manager approved the purchase of a ticket, you can surely buy it. The hike will not be canceled due to our fault.
Kuluar experienced teamleaders will accompany the group along the entire route, making your trip as memorable and safe as possible! They have been to South America many times and know the country in detail.
The consultant, who will advise you before the trip, thoroughly knows the route and will tell you about it in detail!
More than 24,000 participants have already gone to the mountains with the Kuluar and 97.8% were satisfied. We're sure you will, too!
The mere sight of which takes your breath away.
One day we will have the opportunity to see a thousand-year-old glacier, the ice from which slides down into crystal-clear lakes.
See the region's most famous and photogenic mountain, Fitzroy
The hike participants are met by the instructor at the hotel in Buenos Aires. Today the whole day is dedicated to the group gathering. Therefore, those who arrive in the morning can spend the whole day getting to know this wonderful and ancient city, the capital of Argentina with the mysterious name of "City of the Holy Trinity and Port of our Lady Saint Mary of the Good Winds".
Flight to the city of El Calafate, located in the heart of Argentine Patagonia, where all the most exciting adventures of our tour will begin. Travel time takes about three hours, so in the evening you will have time to walk around the city or go to the lakefront, where you can sometimes see flocks of pink flamingos.
We will cross the border from Chile by bus and check into a hostel in Puerto Natales. Here we will leave the things we don't need during the trekking and tomorrow morning we will go to contemplate the majestic mountains and blue lakes of the Torres del Paine National Park.
The famous "W-track" in Chile's Torres del Paine National Park is considered one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world. And it takes place right here in Patagonia. We will get to the start of the route first by bus and then by boat, which will take us to the pier in Refugio Pine Grande across the picturesque Lake Pehoe in half an hour. Already on the first day we will see one of the hallmarks of Torres del Paine - the famous Los Cuernos cliffs.
Travel time: 3-4 hours; distance: 6 km; altitude gain: 40 m, altitude loss: 40 м
In the morning, we will make a radial hike towards Gardner Pass to the top of the Gray Glacier to admire the views of the Patagonian ice fields from above. Along the way, we will descend to a small bay where ice fragments of icebergs regularly falling into the lake from the Gray Glacier collect.
Travel time: 6-7 hours; distance: 26 km; altitude gain: 850 m, altitude drop: 850 m (hiking without heavy backpacks)
The tour of Patagonia continues, and the main feature of today is the beautiful viewpoints: Mirador Frances and Mirador Britannico, located above the French Valley. First, we will walk with small ups and downs along Scottsberg Lake, and then turn left from the Italiano campsite, where we will have a short, but sometimes quite steep climb with a total elevation gain of 600 meters, from where we will have views of the surrounding mountain peaks. We'll have a field lunch along the way, and in the evening we'll return to the campsite to rest.
Travel time: 2-3 hours; distance 8 km; altitude gain: 200 m, altitude loss: 30 m (backpacking)
Along a huge twenty-kilometer-long lake resembling a fjord, we will walk to the next campsite on our route - Las Torres. It is located closest to the legendary Torres del Paine towers, which have become a real symbol of this national park and the entire Chilean Patagonia. The word "Torre" is translated from Spanish as "tower", and "Paine" means "blue" in the language of the local Indians. And now we are approaching the cherished goal of our trip - the "Blue Towers" of Torres del Paine.
Travel time: 4-6 hours; distance: 15 km; altitude gain: 300 m, altitude drop: 350 m (hiking with backpacks)
It is believed that the best time to photograph the Torres Towers is at dawn, when the sun illuminates their peaks with bright red flames. To see this amazing play of light, we have to get up and set off in the dark. We are walking without anything, so we hope to get to the observation deck quickly and see perhaps the most stunning sight in our lives and, of course, capture this amazing beauty in our photos. We spend as much time at the towers as we want, and after the descent we stay at our campsite for a well-deserved rest until the next morning.
Travel time: 4-6 hours; distance: 14 km; altitude gain: 750 m; altitude drop: 750 m (hiking without backpacks)
From the campsite, we will walk along a flat road for about an hour and a half to the exit of the national park. Here, on the plain, it is very likely that we will meet someone from the local fauna: guanacos, foxes, or Patagonian hemal. There are also pumas here, but they are rarely seen in places where tourists regularly pass through. From the Amarga lagoon we will once again admire the landscape of the Las Torres towers, and while waiting for the bus we will be able to walk to the waterfalls on the Paine River. We drive to Puerto Natales, where we stay overnight.
Travel time: 2-3 hours; distance: 7 km; altitude gain: 50 m, altitude loss: 100 m (hiking with backpacks)
Transfer by bus to Punta Arenas, the main city of Chilean Patagonia. From here, if the weather is good, a boat departs daily to Magdalena Island, where thousands of Magellanic penguins nest. We book the tour on the same day in the afternoon to maximize the chances of getting to the island. In case of strong winds, the tour can be rescheduled for the next day.
We have a free day for a trip to Penguin Island. If the weather was favorable on the previous day, we will devote this day to exploring the city: visit the historic center, stroll along the Strait of Magellan promenade and see the ships of the first European expeditions to Patagonia, reproduced in the size of the originals, located in the open-air Punta Arenas Maritime Museum.
In the morning we pack up and get on the bus to return to Argentina again, this time to the town of El Calafate, which serves as the starting point for a visit to Los Glaciares National Park, the Argentine part of the vast massif of glaciers, the ice fields of Patagonia. Also in the city we will buy food for the next part of our trekking program.
Today we will spend the whole day in Los Glaciares National Park, more precisely at the most spectacular of its glaciers, the famous Perito Moreno. In the morning the bus will take us to the viewpoints where, by special paths and ladders, we can walk along the glacier and view it from different levels and sides. The sheer size and dazzling blue of the glacier are simply astounding! The Perito Moreno ice is unusually clear, as the glacier is in motion all the time - it is one of the few advancing glaciers in the world today. The speed of its movement is 2 meters per day, so every few minutes here and there you can see a giant landslide of ice blocks, causing bursts of water and deafening noise. We will also be able to take an unforgettable hour-long boat ride, which will help us see all this icy beauty from an even closer distance.
We drive on to see the sights of Patagonia, for which we go to the small village of El Chalten at the foot of Argentina's most beautiful mountain, Fitzroy. Since the trip is not long, we will not stop in the town, but go straight to the campsite on the shore of Lake Capri. From here tomorrow at dawn we will be able to admire the fiery red light at the top of the mountain and its reflection in the crystal clear water.
Hiking time: 2-3 hours; distance 5 km; climb: 350 m, (hike with backpacks)
First, we'll make a short hike with backpacks to get even closer to the majestic Fitzroy and camp at the Poinsenot campsite, where we'll walk light to the lookout point and the upper lake at the foot of Fitzroy, the Laguna de los Tres. And when we come down, we'll walk in the other direction to no less picturesque viewpoints, where we can see the summit from a different angle and admire the blue Piedras Blancas glacier flowing between the rocks.
Trekking time: 3-4 hours; distance 10 km; climb 800 m, drop 800 m (hike without backpacks)
Again a short morning hiking with backpacks and we find ourselves on the other side of the massif, where we can see the picturesque peaks and rock walls of the towers of Cerro Torre. We will spend the night on the shore of the Torre Lagoon at the foot of the mountains and walk along the lake to the confluence of the Torre and Grande glaciers.
Hiking time: 3-4 hours; distance 9 km; climb: 100 m, drop 200 m (hike with backpacks)
Early in the morning we will go on a day hike to the viewpoint of Maestri. From here we have the best views of the majestic cliffs of Cerro Torre. Despite their relatively low altitude (3128 m), they seem enormous and impress us with their almost vertical stone walls, resting against the sky. Full of impressions we return to the camping site, set up camp and go to the El Chalten village. If there is time and energy left, we will have a trip to see condors soaring in the sky from the viewpoint of El Condores. In the evening we will take a bus to the familiar town of El Calafate.
Hiking time: 1.5-2 hours; distance 5 km; climb 230 m, drop 230 m (a light hike)
Those with limited time can go home today if necessary, but we recommend spending 4 more days with us and visiting America's largest waterfalls, Iguazu. In 2011, they were recognized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. To see them, we will need to fly to the north of Argentina to the province of Misiones, where Iguazu National Park is located. The waterfalls themselves are located on the river that separates the two countries, Argentina and Brazil, so you can see them from two sides. And if you happen to be here, it is worth visiting both parks, as they give completely different angles and impressions of the waterfalls.
The Brazilian side of the waterfalls offers panoramic views of the entire complex of 275 waterfalls with a total width of 2.7 km. The best panoramic photos are taken from here and the scale of the natural element is felt. The length of the walking paths along the waterfall is shorter than in Argentina, so we will have time to visit the amazing Bird Park located next door, where we will meet with the inhabitants of the rainforest: huge butterflies, funny coatis, colorful birds such as hummingbirds, toucans and large macaws or arias.
On the Argentine side of the falls, approximately two-thirds of the more than two hundred cascades are located. Here you can get almost close to the waterfalls, even looking inside the largest of them, called Garganta del Diablo or Devil's Throat. Exploring the park takes a whole day, as there are several dozen viewpoints here, and they are connected by kilometers of iron bridges and paths, and a small eco-train takes tourists to the most remote ones. After the tour, we take an evening flight to Buenos Aires.
After visiting the waterfalls we fly back to Buenos Aires. The rest of the day is a free program. In the evening, dinner with the group in one of the restaurants in the city.
The manager will advise you on equipment, help you find the best flight, share information on hotels and excursions. You make your own payments and purchases. If you want the manager to buy the ticket for you, it is possible, but for extra money, because it is a big responsibility. More in the article: additional services.

At lunch time we will act according to circumstances - either go to the restaurant or take a pre-prepared snack. Hiking meals while trekking in El Chalten and Torres del Paine are included in the price of the program. Here we cook our own meals on gas burners. Before the hike, the guide prepares a menu and coordinates it with the participants. Some of the food is brought from home, some is bought locally before the start of the hike. The guide organizes the camp kitchen and the proper use of the burners, but your help in cooking will certainly be needed, too. At the Pine Grande and Las Torres campground, you can pre-order food at a restaurant for 20USD (breakfast), 25-37 USD for lunch or dinner.
Patagonia is a very distant land, and who knows when you will get here next time - try to be in every possible excursion and outing. Don't sit in tents while others are accumulating impressions!

Others are free and, except for a wooden toilet stall, provide no services (Italiano, on the Torres del Paine track; all the campsites in El Chaltene). In the cities, we stay in hotels, where both budget accommodation options in backpacker hostels (15-20 USD/person/night) and more individual accommodation in 1-2-3 bed rooms are available. Based on 2-3-bed accommodations, the cost will be about 30-40 USD/person/night. Availability and prices for single occupancy accommodations will be provided upon request.
The cost depends on the number of participants in the group:
