We invite you to the Gorgany — one of the most fascinating mountain ranges of the Ukrainian Carpathians. This region is known for its stone screes, alpine dwarf pines (locally called zherep), and scenic lakes along the Arshytsia Ridge.
The campsite, where you'll spend your nights, is nestled by a mountain river in a picturesque spot. You'll stay in tents with amenities on site: electricity, a well, showers, and a large canopy tent where you can comfortably spend evenings around a big campfire.
Every day we go on hikes. First, to Lake Rosokhan — located in a spruce forest at an elevation of 1,100 meters. Then, to Mount Syvulia — the highest peak in the Gorgany (1,836 m), which offers panoramic views of the surrounding ranges. And finally, one more summit: we’ll hike to Kin’ Hrofetskyi — a lesser-known but equally stunning mountain. Hey, have any of your friends been to “The Horse” yet? Time to be the first :)
It’s a chance to fully immerse yourself in the spirit of the hike: evening campfires, delicious food, and a deep connection with the mountains offer emotions no hotel ever could.
Every night brings conversation, games, or projector screenings under the canopy and by the fire. For many, it’s the warmest and most memorable part of the journey.
Meals are prepared by local cooks using regional products, giving participants more time to explore the surroundings with the team leader and to truly relax.
There’s no need to carry a heavy pack on this hike. So why not bring something just for you? A guitar, a book, or a board game — there’s room and time for it at camp.
All essential camping gear is available for rent, so you can simply arrive at the starting point with a suitcase.
Not far from the tent camp is a sauna. Participants are welcome to unwind there after an active day in the mountains.

The group meets up in Ivano-Frankivsk with the team leader and departs toward the small village of Osmoloda. The drive takes just over two hours. Upon arrival, participants set up their tents, get acquainted with the campsite area, and after a light snack, head out to the first location. A vehicle suitable for off-road conditions takes the group to the trailhead leading to Lake Rosokhan.
The hike to the lake and back takes about 2.5–3 hours at an average pace, allowing time to enjoy the scenery along the way. The ascent and descent are noticeable, offering a satisfying physical challenge without being too strenuous. Around 6:00 PM, the group returns to the campsite. If the weather is favorable, participants can take a dip in the natural pools of the nearby river or visit the sauna.
The evening unfolds around a large campfire, where participants share their impressions while local cooks prepare fresh, hearty meals and set the table.

On the morning of the second day, the group is picked up by an off-road vehicle — typically a large open-bed truck. The ride along winding mountain roads is an adventure in itself, often remembered by participants with a smile. After being dropped off near a small waterfall, the group sets out toward the Ruschyna alpine meadows. Within an hour to an hour and a half, we reach open terrain, from where both peaks dominating this part of the Gorgany — Mala Syvulia and Velyka Syvulia — come into view.
Syvulia is the highest point in the Gorgany Range, standing at 1,836 meters. The summit is covered in stony scree and offers a panoramic 360-degree view. In clear weather, it’s possible to see distant peaks such as Hoverla and Petros — and sometimes even the mountains of the Romanian Carpathians.
After reaching the summit, we descend back to our starting point, where the transport awaits. If the group feels strong and the weather holds, an alternative route is possible — continuing along the entire ridge to Borevka Meadow. From there, a different trail leads to the dirt road where the vehicle will pick us up.
In the evening, we return to the campsite for another cozy fire and a delicious dinner prepared by local cooks.

On the morning of the third day, our group sets out toward the summit of Kin’ Hrofetskyi. We cover the first few kilometers by off-road vehicle to shorten the route and conserve energy. From there, we begin our ascent through dense spruce forest, which gradually gives way to the rocky screes typical of the Gorgany. There are several legends about Mount Kin’ Hrofetskyi, which the team leader will share during the climb.
Though the route is relatively short in distance, the steep ascent requires good physical fitness. The climb takes approximately 5 hours, allowing us to return to the campsite by around 3:00 PM. If the weather is favorable, participants can enjoy a refreshing dip in the river or relax with board games in the company of new friends. After three consecutive days of hiking, this free time is both well-deserved and welcome.

Elevation gain/loss: +740 m / –740 m
An alternative for a strong and motivated group is the ascent of Mount Moloda — a route that takes nearly the entire daylight hours. This peak is equally impressive and is included in Kuluar’s programs both with and without backpacks (like the “Wild Trails of the Gorgany”). It is offered only to those groups that have demonstrated good form after summiting Syvulia. If the weather permits and the team is up to the challenge, the team leader may suggest this more difficult yet unique option.
On the morning of the fourth day, participants will have a choice. If the previous evening was spent late around the campfire or playing games, it’s perfectly fine to enjoy a bit of a sleep-in. However, the standard plan includes a light morning walk — a short hike to an abandoned lookout tower visible right from our campsite. The route is up to 3 km long, serving as a symbolic conclusion to the journey, a final glimpse of the mountains before we head home.
After lunch, around 2:00 PM, a transfer vehicle arrives to take the group back to Ivano-Frankivsk.
Depending on weather conditions, group dynamics, and participant preferences, the team leader may adjust the route.
The Carpathians are generally a rainy region, so you should be prepared for all weather — a raincoat is a must! Better safe than soaked.
You can join our hikes from any city in Ukraine. The meeting point is Ivano-Frankivsk, which is easy to reach. It’s especially convenient for residents of major cities: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa. Group meeting times are scheduled with train arrivals in mind, so feel free to apply for the Syvuli hike no matter where you're coming from!

If you have your own tent and it's suitable for sustained rainfall, let your trip consultant know, get it approved, and feel free to bring it.
If you don’t have your own gear, we’ll provide everything you need for rent. On some dates, your gear will already be waiting for you at the campsite. In other cases, you’ll receive it in Ivano-Frankivsk before the transfer departs.
Also note: the campsite has plenty of space, so if you prefer not to share a tent, you can rent one just for yourself.
Yes! The campsite has solar-heated shower stalls. The water may be cool in the morning but is usually pleasantly warm by evening on sunny days.
There’s a mountain river nearby where participants often bathe. It has shallow pools about 1 meter deep — ideal for a refreshing dip.

There are toilets on site.
Fresh spring water is available and used for cooking and drinking.
A wood-fired sauna is also nearby and can be booked separately (not included in the tour price).
There is no Wi-Fi at the campsite, and mobile reception is limited. Kyivstar generally offers the best coverage, though it may still be inconsistent. Uploading videos might require finding a stronger signal point.
Think of this as a digital detox — a chance to disconnect from the noise and be more present in the moment.
There are a few 220V outlets at the campsite, but they are limited.
We recommend bringing a dual-port charger or a power bank. The best strategy is to charge your power bank overnight in the communal shelter to avoid evening queues.
This is a comfortable but not entirely easy trip. We stay at a campsite and hike with light backpacks. However, the trails involve elevation gain and some steep, potentially slippery sections in wet weather.
The first day includes a short acclimatization hike so everyone can assess their ability.
The second and third days involve full-day hikes. If anyone feels tired or unwell, there are flexible options:
– Join the group for the drive to the mountains and take an easy solo walk (e.g., mushroom picking)
– Stay at the campsite: relax, walk along the river, or explore the nearby forest
This format lets you experience the mountains while adjusting the level of activity to your own pace and comfort.
The program includes mandatory additional costs for transfers. The exact amount can be confirmed with your consultant, as it depends on current fuel prices and may fluctuate.
There are also optional expenses: participants often buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, or treat themselves to a meal at a restaurant. We recommend bringing at least 900 UAH for such extras — the upper limit is up to you.
Group sizes are limited, so to secure your spot, you need to make a prepayment of 1800 UAH.
