We invite you to climb one of the highest and most remarkable peaks of Ukraine - Pop Ivan Chernogorsky. The peak is unique in its own way, because there is a building of the old Polish observatory, built back in the 30s of the twentieth century! In addition, when the weather is good, from the top of Popa Ivan you can admire the views of the whole Montenegrin mountain range, in the distance you can see Marmarosa and the Romanian mountains! This is the peak with great panoramic views!
Also in this hike we will visit the fairy-tale forest lake Maricejka hidden among the tall fir trees, look at the bizarre rocks on Vuhaty Kamen Mountain, swim in the Dzembronj waterfalls.
Another highlight of the trip will be rafting on the Black Cheremosh River from Dzembrony to Krasnyk. We guarantee that this trip will impress you with the richness of the program and the beauty of Carpathian landscapes!
Climbing the Pop Ivan Chernogorsky and rafting on the Cheremosh - the most saturated program, because for only three days you will climb to one of the highest peaks of Ukraine, see the mountain lake and bizarre rocks, rafting on the rapid Cheremosh!
Teamleaders are people for whom mountains are both a hobby and a profession. With their vast experience, they are happy to open up the mountain world to you, to do it safely and so that you fall irrevocably in love with hiking.
Consultants on the basis of their own experience will prepare and advise you before the program, because all of them have been more than once on the Montenegrin Ridge.
The teamleader will meet you at the train station of Ivano-Frankovsk, and with him you will travel to the mountains in a previously ordered comfortable transport.
We recruit no more than 12 participants per team leader, and if there are more participants, we divide them into several independent groups. This is done for the comfort of the participants.

The group meets and gets acquainted with each other and with the instructor at the railway station in Ivano-Frankivsk. It is desirable to arrive at the station early, before 10:00. Here we will distribute food and group equipment. From Ivano-Frankovsk we move to the village Shibene. Here we will start the walking part of the tour.
After lunch, we move along the mountain river Shibeney in the direction of the border with Romania. Warming up on the level road, we start walking up through the shady spruce forest. The ascent is quite steep, but everyone can do it. After a couple of hours, we find ourselves on Vesnarka clearing. There is a shepherd's stall here that grazes cows and sheep in summer. In the season you can buy sheep cheese. But - let's move on - the lake Maricheika is waiting for us, hidden in the woods! It takes only half an hour to get there. Fascinated by the beauty of the lake, we stay here for the night.
In one day we will hike 8 km, gaining 700 m in altitude.
Let's wake up early, because today the summit of more than 2000m is waiting for us! On the way gently gaining altitude we leave the forest zone. The forest is replaced by bushes of mountain pine which is called yarrow here. But the road is cut through it and soon we are on the spur of Pop Ivan Chernogorsky. Smooth ascent, which will take about an hour - and we are on top of a height of 2028 m! The scenery is breathtaking. In addition, at this height is impressive size structure - an old Polish observatory, which is now under reconstruction. Here is equipped with a post of mountain rescuers.
From the summit of Pop Ivan Chernogorsky offers great views of the Chernogorsky ridge itself, where are all two-thousanders of Ukraine, the Marmaros, Chivchiny and Hryniava. Also we can see the peaks of the Romanian Carpathians - the border runs along the nearby ranges.
After enjoying the views, we move on. Descend a little bit from the top to the main ridge and turn toward Vuhaty Kamen mountain. This is a rocky spur of Montenegro Ridge with fancy rocks on top and on the ridge. Take some great pictures as a keepsake! Let's go down to Dzembron waterfalls for refreshment! The noisy mountain stream will keep us cool on a hot summer day! A few more kilometers through a magic spruce forest, we will reach the Smotrich valley. There is also a shepherd's lodge here, you can buy cheese. We will stay for the night here.
In one day we will hike 12 km, gaining 650 m in height. We will descend to 1000 m.
In the morning we will go down to the village Dzembronya. Here a minibus will pick us up and take us to the Black Cheremosh River. We were already driving along it getting to the start of the route and we were looking with admiration at the people rafting on the turbulent mountain river. Today it was our turn! We put on our life jackets, go through a briefing and get into the raft. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor we will raft down the Black Cheremosh River, almost up to Verkhovina! This format is just a perfect ending of the trip! For only three days we will get a lot of emotions, a real adventure will happen to us. One of the highest peaks of Ukraine, and rafting on the turbulent mountain river - what a great job we did! And we will celebrate our achievements in one of the atmospheric cafes of Ivano-Frankivsk.
During the day we'll hike 3 km, descend to 400 m.
Depending on the weather conditions, condition and general wishes of the group, the teamleader has the right to make changes to the route.
Carpathians in general is very rainy region, so we must be prepared for anything - take a raincoat for sure! Better to be safe than get soaked!

The difficulty of this route is medium. With backpacks and overnight in tents, short distance hikes (up to 8-12km) with an average height difference (up to 650m).

As always, we recommend that you buy tickets in advance, although there are often vacant seats on trains a week before the start of the hike. You should buy your ticket so that you'll be at the train station in Ivano-Frankovsk by 10 a.m. on the day of the start of the hike. A slight delay is acceptable. Back you buy a ticket for the evening, best of all for 20-22 hours, then you'll have time to walk around Frankovsk and have a drink in one of its pubs. Buy tickets is worth it only after our confirmation of your participation in the hike. You can do this at the ticket offices at the railway station or online on the website "Ukrzaliznytsia".
The meeting place of the group is the waiting room of the Ivano-Frankovsk railway station. The time is determined by the last arriving participant, usually it's 10 am. About 5-7 days before the hike we will send you by e-mail the exact time of the meeting and the contacts of the team leader. Don't forget to check your mail!
The weather in the Carpathians is very changeable, so you should prepare for its surprises in advance. The first thing you should remember is that it rains a lot here, so you should bring a raincoat and a rain cover for your backpack. Second - in the evenings, especially at high-altitude parking lots, it may be cool. Take with you a hat, gloves and jacket.
Surely you are wondering what we will eat on a hike? Let's just say that you don't have to worry. Many participants say they eat better on the hike than they do at home. The basis of the menu is a simple meal of cereals and soups. You should not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat any products, be sure to inform the manager so that the guide can slightly adjust the menu for you. We also recommend taking some yummies with you - nuts or sweets. Appetite on a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu shown is indicative only. Guides usually have their signature dishes that they love to pamper participants with. And if you have dishes that you would like to receive on a hike, be sure to tell the manager about it, as the guide may have completely different preferences.

There are also optional expenses. Participants buy dried porcini mushrooms, souvenirs, and like to have dinner in a restaurant (for example, in the legendary "Ten"). Minimum recommend to take from 300 hryvnias. And the maximum is up to you.
