How to join the American Wild West adventure?
- Choose your preferred dates, submit a request, and fill out the questionnaire.
- A manager will contact you, consult you on the program, and provide payment details for the deposit.
- You make the deposit payment – congratulations, your spot is reserved!
- The manager confirms your booking, and you purchase your flights to America.
- Arrange your insurance (we'll help and advise) and gather your gear (we offer discounts for participants at many stores).
- Meet your guide, relax, and get the most out of your journey's wonderful emotions!
- During the trek, don't forget to post with the hashtag #kuluarpohod, and after you return, give us your feedback and write a review – we'd really appreciate it! See you on the next adventure.
Payment Procedure
To reserve a spot on the trip, you need to make a deposit of $150. You can do this in any convenient way. In some cases, we may not require a deposit, in which case purchased airline tickets will serve as a guarantee of your trip. Payment for the trip is made to the guide on the first day of the program, in US dollars.
Additional Services
The manager will advise you on gear, help you find the best flight, and share information about hotels and excursions. You make all payments and purchases yourself. If you'd like the manager to purchase a ticket on your behalf, this is possible, but for an extra fee, since it's a significant responsibility. More details in this article: additional services and service fee.
Changes to the Program
Depending on weather conditions, group condition, and general preferences, the guide has the right to make changes to the route.
Required Documents
To enter the United States, you need to obtain a visa. Usually, the application is processed within 2-4 days after the interview. All participants apply for their visa independently, but we help with gathering documents and provide guidance at every stage of the process.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your return date — please check this before buying flights.
Weather Conditions
As in any mountains, the weather is quite changeable. The temperature in the mountains during this season ranges from +20 during the day to -5 at night. In the canyons, it can reach up to +30. In the desert, it can get up to +40.
Food
During the trekking part of the program, we cook our own food. In the cities, we eat at cafes/restaurants or stop by a supermarket, which has a hot food counter: soup, meat dishes, salads. There are some "must visit" cafes/restaurants – either the food is extremely delicious or quite unusual. In some places, there's no choice, and there's only one dining option. In that case, we all go there together as a group. In other cases, participants have a choice – go to a restaurant or grab a more budget-friendly bite at a store's salad bar or fast food. Overall food expenses depend on participants' appetite: from 150 to 500 USD.
Accommodation Conditions
All overnight stays are in motels and campgrounds. What's called a "motel" in America is actually quite a decent hotel. Well, except maybe for the lack of a concierge and a huge lobby at the entrance. The rooms are spacious and clean. Accommodation is in rooms for 2-3 people. Breakfast at motels is fairly simple, but you can usually find milk, eggs, toast, and make some hot waffles. At campgrounds, we sleep in tents and cook on gas stoves.
