From Izmir or Dalaman airports we take buses to Marmaris. In Marmaris, you will meet your guide at the hotel. Then we will check in to the hotel. After the hard road we have to acclimatize to the new climate. Marmaris is the most beautiful and picturesque city on the southwest coast. The city's calling card is the fortress "Marmara Kalesi", built by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. It is surrounded by the old town, where there is a colorful oriental bazaar and beautifully restored old houses. We will definitely take a walk there.
We get up, have breakfast, and take the bus to the Datca Peninsula. In an hour we arrive at the beginning of the route. Our journey will start at the village of Eski Datca, where we will walk through streets that have a traditional Turkish charm. There are always lots of flowers here, even in winter. After an hour we will reach our first altitude, but you can easily do it and look back and see a beautiful bay. Onwards past olive and almond orchards we reach the campsite. We pitch our tents, have lunch and head for the enormous Can Baba Cave, some 320m up. So, let's take water and candy bars and go upstairs to listen to the silence. By the way, there are a lot of climbing routes, where life is boiling in summer and they are empty in winter. We go down, have dinner and gain strength.

Today we will spend another half day among the high cliffs and pine forest. The road is wide and comfortable. On the route we will meet a huge number of beehives. By 2pm we will reach the sea. The first to catch your eye will be the Greek islands, then the peninsula itself, rugged in coves. In a couple of hours we will walk down to our accommodation. Domuz Cukuru Beach has flat, comfortable tent sites. If you've got a hammock, it's a good time to stretch out on it.

Today will give us incredible views, and as you know, he who sits high can see everything :) That means a lot of climbing up and down to the sea. We'll put on pants, because we will walk along the sea on narrow paths, where we will meet prickly bushes. We will have lunch at one of the beautiful bays. We have to climb almost 200 m, it will be difficult, so we have lunch and head up through a dried up river bed. From the pass there is a beautiful view of the village Ovabuku, we will spend the night there, but first we have to buy in the store what we need for dinner.

In the morning we can afford to take our time and take an air bath. The walk today is only 6 km. There will be a fairly smooth ascent through an olive grove, then past cool terraces with very old olive trees we will reach the pass of 206 m. We will rest, admire the beauty, find the source of water. The noise of the creek will fill the silence around us. Further on you will descend to the camp. There you can take a hot shower and lie on the beach. The place is very nice.

We put on our backpacks and leave the campsite. We have some steep slopes to climb, where from the pass we see on the horizon the Greek island of Tilos, gracefully nestled in the Aegean Sea, and the small but beautiful volcanic island of Nisyros. We will spend the night on the quiet beach Baglarozu, which is captive to wildlife. This means that we will bring water with us.

Evidence has been found on the Datcha Peninsula that an advanced civilization existed here as early as 2000 BC. The indigenous population was the Karas. In the era of the Dorians, who came here in 1000 B.C. from Greece via Thrace, the peninsula flourished. The center of the Doric civilization was the city of Knid. After Lycia fell under Persian influence in 546 BC, Cnidus too came under the Persian yoke. In the 4th century BC. Cnid was relocated to the extreme tip of the Datca Peninsula, which is where we are going today. Along the winding path along the sea we pass ancient ruins and get to the city-museum, next to which there is a lighthouse, which we will surely go to.
We have to say goodbye to the ancient city of Knidos which is said to be "the city built for the most beautiful goddess Aphrodite on the most beautiful peninsula in the world" and we take a charter bus to Marmaris for a cozy room and goodbye dinner.

As always, we recommend that you buy your tickets in advance, but only after we confirm your participation in the trip. The cheapest way to fly to Turkey is with the low-cost airline Pegasus. They fly from Kharkov and Lvov in Ukraine. They do not fly direct, but with a connection in Istanbul. But there is nothing wrong with it. The ticket price starts at 150 еuros round trip and you'd better buy tickets in advance. Allowed luggage: 20 kg + 10 kg of hand luggage.
From Kiev you can fly with wings of Turkish Airlines. It's slightly more expensive.
You should buy tickets to Izmir or Dalaman, and then take a bus to Marmaris.

I'm sure you're wondering what we're going to eat while camping. Let's tell you right away that you don't have to worry. Many participants say that they eat better while camping than at home. The base of the menu is a simple meal of cereal and soup. Do not count on gourmet delicacies (although they can be).
If you do not eat some products, be sure to tell the manager, so the guide can adjust the menu for you. We also recommend that you take some pockets of nuts or sweets with you. The appetite in a hike is much better than at home.
Please note that the menu presented is tentative. Guides usually have their own crown dishes, which they like to pamper the participants.

Turkey is a country with a mild subtropical climate. In summer it is very hot here, so we try to put our hikes mainly in March-May and September-October, which are the best months for trekking in Turkey. The daytime temperature in April will be +25 +30 Celsius, and at night about +10.
The official currency of Turkey - Turkish lira, but almost everywhere you can pay and dollars at a rate similar to the official. However, a certain amount of lira is worth to have (it will be useful in the stores on the route in small villages), and to change them is best at the bus station exchange office. By no means change it directly at the airport - the rate there is simply robbery! Take small currency with you, cab drivers will be happy to accept it. One dollar is about seven Turkish Liras.

If you have a sweet tooth you'll probably want to bring home a lot of oriental delicacies.)
