We will start our journey in the capital of the country, Lima, where we get acquainted with the local cuisine and walk along the Pacific Ocean promenade. But we don't stay long, and quickly move to the Andes Mountains - here many centuries ago the mighty Inca Empire ruled, leaving behind mysterious historical monuments, the most famous of which is the lost city of Machu Picchu. No tour to Peru is complete without visiting it.
Nearby are the colorful Rainbow Mountains of Vinikunka, where you can try yourself in a short but real high-mountain trekking and take a selfie in the background.
From the mountain peaks we will descend to the Amazon jungle, walk among the impenetrable thickets, and raft on the longest river on the planet. We will get acquainted with the biodiversity of wildlife, see monkeys, reptiles and birds, caimans and pink dolphins, and get a unique fishing experience - catching a real predatory piranha from the boat.
From the humid tropical climate, we will move to a tiny desert oasis among the sand dunes, where we will spend the sunset and take a trip on a high-speed buggy and go downhill on sandboards.
The icing on the cake of the Peru tour will be a trip deep into the Pacific Ocean to the islands that are home to friendly and human-friendly sea lions who would not mind swimming with you. Just imagine: you are swimming in the Pacific Ocean among sea lions - fantastic!

During the day, the group gathers in Lima, the capital of Peru. All participants check into a pre-booked hotel in a prestigious and safe area of the city called Miraflores. Here you can stroll along the Malecon promenade, admire the waves of the Pacific Ocean, visit the Park of Love and have dinner in one of the restaurants, tasting a variety of dishes of rich Peruvian cuisine.
In the morning, we will go to the airport and take a domestic flight to the city of Cusco, located in the heart of the Peruvian sierra. In ancient times, before the Spaniards arrived at the continent, it was the capital of the great Inca Empire. At that time, Cusco was probably the largest city in all of South America, and since then, many historical monuments have been preserved here. The archaeological complexes of Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pucara, Cuenca, and Tambomachay are located within a 20-minute drive from the city. We will go to see some of them on the day of arrival.
Today we will spend the whole day in the valley of the Urubamba River, which the Incas considered sacred and built many temple complexes, fortresses and other structures, the purpose of which historians cannot reliably unravel to this day. Among them are the mysterious Morai circles and the Maras salt terraces. We will stop at the small village of Chinchero, where local women will introduce us to their weaving craft and demonstrate products made from unique, surprisingly soft alpaca wool. We will continue our acquaintance with the history of the Inca civilization in the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, from where we will continue by train to Machu Picchu Pueblo, a modern tourist town at the foot of the mountain, where the most famous landmark of Peru, the lost Inca city of Machu Picchu, is located. We check into the hotel and have a rest before tomorrow's early rise.
Early in the morning, we will head to the city shrouded in legends and historical references. To get to the gates of Machu Picchu, we need to climb another 400 meters above our overnight accommodation, to an altitude of 2430 meters above sea level. This can be done with the help of buses that run regularly from the main street of the city. Since the time spent by tourists in Machu Picchu is now limited by local authorities, we will spend there until lunch, and then we will be transferred back to Cusco, where we will arrive in the evening.
This day will probably be the most physically challenging of our trip, but at the same time the most exciting, because today we are going to see one of the most unique places in Peru - the Rainbow Mountains of Vinicuña. These bright, colorful slopes were discovered in the depths of the Andes only recently, but very quickly became a real magnet, attracting more and more people every year to see this natural wonder. We would have to leave very early, long before dawn, so that we would have enough time to get there and hike up to an altitude of about 5000 meters, which can be quite difficult in the thin high mountain air. But since we have already spent some time at altitudes above 3000 meters, we are confident that everyone will be able to cope with it. Believe me, it's worth the effort, because the view is really just stunning!
For the next few days, we will go on an exciting trip to the selva - a real jungle at the headwaters of the Amazon River. In the morning, we will depart from Cusco and, with a stopover in Lima, arrive in the northern part of the country, the city of Iquitos in the late afternoon. By the way, there are only two ways to get here - by plane or by ship, as there is simply no road in the dense Amazonian jungle.
In the morning, we head to the port of Iquitos to begin our boat trip on the famous Amazonas River. While rafting downstream, we will have a great opportunity to see caimans, snakes, turtles, river pink dolphins and many other species of flora and fauna along the river bank. After arriving at the lodge, we will also go on a jungle walk, during which we will observe local species of monkeys, and if we are lucky, we will see colorful parrots, toucans and other birds.
We will meet the sunrise over the Amazon River and go on a boat to observe the local natural world. In the afternoon, we will have the opportunity to try fishing for real predatory piranhas, which are abundant in local waters. To complete the experience, after sunset we will make another trip to the jungle to see the nighttime inhabitants of the forest, various spiders, reptiles, snakes and monkeys.
Today we will have another morning hike in the jungle, where we will have a unique opportunity to see a huge number of monkeys, birds and many other wild animals in their natural habitat. On the way back to Iquitos, we will visit a local Indian tribe to learn about their history and traditions. In the evening, we will fly to Lima.
In the morning, we move to the Peruvian city of Ica, located in the center of a huge coastal desert with real dunes. Here we will settle near a local oasis on the shores of Lake Huacachina and climb one of the surrounding dunes to admire the sunset.
Today we will have an exciting trip to the heart of the desert on high-speed buggies. Those who wish can try a local extreme sport: sandboarding - riding from the top of sand dunes on a board, using the same principle as snowboarding. A little less extreme, but just as exciting, you can go down on the same board, sitting on it like a sled, or lying on your stomach. Fun will be guaranteed! In the evening we will return to the hotel in Lima.
Today we will go on a boat trip to the Palomino Islands, home to many animals and birds, such as pelicans, seagulls, cormorants and even penguins. But the main feature of the trip is the opportunity to swim with sea lions, which are very friendly and playful and willingly interact with tourists who dive near them. After arriving at the port, you can spend the rest of the time exploring the historical sights of Lima, see the central square and the Cathedral, and in the evening visit the bright light show of the open-air fountains.
Since the sea lion tour is highly weather-dependent, we recommend taking tickets for departure from Lima in the evening, from 18:00 and later. In this case, you will still have enough time for a second chance for this trip in case of unfavorable conditions for the excursion the day before. If your time is limited, you can also depart in the morning. In any case, we are sure that the impressions of visiting Peru will overwhelm you long after the trip is over!

Ukrainian citizens do not need a visa to Peru for a stay of up to 90 days. At the airport, you may be asked to provide a return ticket and to book the first night in the country, so have this information ready.
Vaccination against yellow fever is recommended for visiting the Amazon jungle. The vaccine should be administered at least 10 days before visiting an endemic area. You should also familiarize yourself with the recommendations for vaccinations against typhoid, hepatitis A and B, and tetanus.

It can be very hot during the day, even at altitude. Peru is characterized by frequent but short-lived rains. Therefore, it is imperative to take a good membrane jacket with pants and do not forget sunscreen. In the evenings in Cusco, the temperature can drop significantly (up to +5 C), so you will need a fleece or a thin down jacket.
After trekking in Peru, we recommend the following routes:
We will spend most of our time in comfortable 3-4* hotels with hot showers and Wi-Fi. In Lima, we will live in a safe neighborhood near the Pacific coast - Miraflores. In Cusco, we will stay as close to the city center as possible, perhaps even in one of the buildings built on the ancient Inca foundations. In the Amazon jungle, we will be hosted by a local authentic lodge located in the middle of the wild forest, with simple but cozy conditions for this area and mandatory mosquito nets.
We will travel long distances within the country by air. Since flight prices vary and are highly dependent on the time of purchase, we advise you not to delay and sign up for the program as early as possible, so that the cost of domestic airfare will be as favorable as possible for you. You will need a flight from Lima to Cusco, from Cusco to Iquitos and from Iquitos back to Lima. We take care of the rest of the ground transfers: private transportation for excursions in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, train to Machu Picchu, rafting on the Amazon, comfortable bus to the desert and buggy ride on the sand dunes. The duration of travel usually does not exceed 3-4, maximum 5 hours, after which interesting activities and adventures are sure to await us.
The program price includes breakfasts in hotels, as well as two dinners and three lunches during your stay in the Amazon forest. The rest of the time we eat at our own choice in cafes and restaurants. In Lima, we advise you to try seafood, especially the national dish ceviche - fish marinated in lime juice with onions. In Cusco, you can taste river trout or alpaca steak, a variety of dishes made from dozens of local potatoes or baked guinea pig, cui. There is also a choice of traditional European dishes.
Flights to Lima are available from European countries. The cost of such an international flight is about $1200-1300, but may vary slightly depending on the time of purchase and departure dates. When choosing a flight, keep in mind that with short connections of less than 2 hours, there is a high probability of delaying your luggage, which can be delivered only in a couple of days. So try to choose longer connections or prepare in advance all the things you need for the first days in your hand luggage, which you will take with you on the plane.
To participate in the program, you need insurance that covers active tourism in Peru at altitudes of up to 5000 meters. Please do not neglect this requirement. Minimum group for this program: 5 participants. We have calculated the costs for a smaller number of participants, but increased them slightly. So as not to fall into the red ourselves.

To reserve a place in the group, you need to make an advance payment of $500 in a way convenient for you. It is after making the prepayment and purchasing tickets that your place in the group will be reserved. The rest of the amount must be paid to the guide on the first day of the program in cash in dollars. In case of abandoning the route, the money is not refundable.
We recommend exchanging about $500 for local currency (Peruvian Sol, PEN). This money will be spent on food in cafes in cities and other small expenses on the spot. Please note that CB dollar bills are not accepted in Peru due to frequent cases of counterfeiting. Card payments are possible in cities, but not everywhere. VISA cards are most often accepted. Cash withdrawals from ATMs are limited to the equivalent of $200 per transaction and are subject to a fee.
