The program is specially designed for those who want to trek without heavy backpacks, while visiting the most interesting places of Socotra. Our belongings will be transported by camel or jeep.
More than 12,000 participants have already gone to the mountains with the Kuluar and 97,8% were satisfied.
Upon arrival at Socotra airport, we will be taken to the hotel in Hadibo for lunch. After lunch we drive to Ayhaft Canyon National Park. There we will swim in large pools of crystal clear fresh water. All this against a backdrop of many unique endemic plants. Among them is a cucumber tree, which can only be found on the island of Socotra! It may seem strange, but this tree-like plant up to seven meters high is actually a member of the Pumpkin family :) We will hear many birds singing, such as the Socotranian sparrow, Socotranian and Somali starlings.
After swimming we will go to Delisha beach. At the beach we will be surprised by the white sand, which is full of crabs. After the flight you can relax both in the sea and in the freshwater lagoon. If you are full of energy – we recommend climbing the huge sand dune. In the evening you can admire the fabulous sunset from it.
For dinner and overnight stay we return to Hadibo.
After breakfast we go to Denaghen Gorge, where camels are waiting for us. We load our things and the necessary equipment on the camels and go to the mountains! We climb the highest massif of Socotra, the Hajhir. The mountains are rocky and the slopes go deep into the canyons, which are a joy to the eye with green oases. The climbing is easy because all the heavy stuff is on camels. This gives us a chance to admire the beauty from the mountain trail. We spend the night in the mountains at an altitude of about 900 meters, in the Adho Demalah tent camp
The second day of trekking begins with the descent into Da'asqalah Gorge. We descend into a deep and beautiful canyon, the steep slopes of which are covered with greenery. This area is known for its rich variety of flora and fauna. We descend a little lower to Wadi Daazhz campsite. There we spend the rest of the day swimming and exploring the area.
We continue down the picturesque gorge along the Darhu River. The valley opens up, giving us views of green meadows where shepherds graze their cattle. In the afternoon we get the gift of beautiful cliffs in the gorge and natural pools.
Dinner and overnight stay at Wadi Daerhu campground.
After an early breakfast we will ascend from Darehu Canyon to the Diqashen Plateau. On the way we will see many small fruit and vegetable orchards surrounded by high cliffs near the river; date palms. Magnificent scenery and unusual bottle trees, which grow in many places on the canyon walls, await us. Once in Agliso, we will see the southern plain (Noged) with its scatterings of traditional villages, the massive sand dunes of Haifa and Zahek, and the water surface of the Indian Ocean.
Dinner and overnight stay at Wadi Diblahl Camping Site (Agliso)
Our crossing today begins with the descent from Wadi Diblahl (Agliso) to the south coast of the Noged Plain. We will move to the Digub Cave, where cars are waiting for us. For a long time we will enjoy panoramic views from the plateau. After that we will climb the snow-white dunes of Zachek. It seems as if we found ourselves in the winter mountains – so white sand here and so much of it around! Amazing Socotra!
Then we will sunbathe, swim, and rest on the beautiful Aomak beach on the shores of the Indian Ocean.
Dixam Plateau – Shebhon Lookout – Dirhur Canyon – Hadibo
After an early breakfast we will head to the Dixam Plateau (about 700 meters above sea level) and Shebahon Lookout. This area is home to countless endemic plants of Socotra, the Dracaena dracaena. Dracenas grow here in abundance and look like giant mushrooms from outer space. We can also see many vultures circling overhead on rising warm currents.
From Shebahon Lookout we have a wonderful view of Dirhur Canyon, where we will see breathtaking scenery and unusual but beautiful rock formations. Then we will descend into the canyon for lunch and an easy walk to swim in the freshwater pools. We'll spend the rest of the day exploring the canyon before heading to the island's capital for souvenirs.
Dinner and overnight at the Hadibo Hotel.

Our recommendations for airline ticket selection services can be found in this article.
You need good insurance to participate in the program. Please do not neglect this item. For some participants, it saved thousands of dollars. You can find our recommendations for taking out insurance here: "Insurance for Kuluar hikers"
Accommodation on the route: in Hadibo in the hotel, along the route – in tents. Tents are provided by the host, but if you want you can take your own. There will also be a small camping area (tables, chairs, etc.) for the convenience of overnight stays.
All the equipment is transported by camels or jeeps, that will make our trip as comfortable as possible. And all this is already included in the price of the tour.
Meals – local food. There is a lot of seafood in the diet (fish, crabs, lobsters, shrimp), as well as chicken and rice, vegetables and fruits. All the food is prepared for us by the accompanying Socotrians.
Please note that there will be no internet or communication for most of the tour! This is a great opportunity to take a break from civilization and fully immerse yourself in the wilderness of Socotra.
Please note: It is not the consultant's job to select a separate flight for each participant. The consultant gives general recommendations based on his/her experience and shares the flights of other participants, so that you can fly together. It's up to the participant to select and purchase his own convenient airfare. If you want a consultant to buy you a ticket, book a hotel or an extra excursion, read the terms and conditions on the page: additional services.
The total amount of additional costs not included in the price will range from $ 1300, most of which (850 dollars) will go to the airfare from Abu Dhabi and registration of visas ($ 150).
To reserve a place in a group, we require an advance payment of $160. We recommend to do it as early as possible. Methods of payment and refund policy in case of cancellation or dropping out of the itinerary here. You will also need to transfer money to buy air tickets Abu Dhabi – Socotra and arrange visa. The remainder of the amount should be handed over to the team leader on the first day of the program.
