The Way of Saint James is the most popular pilgrimage route in the world, taken by thousands of pilgrims each year. The main goal of pilgrims is to walk at least 100 km and end their journey in the city of Santiago de Compostela, where there are relics of the Apostle James in the famous cathedral. On the last day of the trip, everyone listens to the service in the cathedral and receives their coveted certificates.
The total length of the route is more than 800 km. There are many routes: from France, Portugal, Spain. Each pilgrim chooses one for himself. The distance can be different. For someone it is difficult to go 100 km, and someone will gladly go 300 km.
This route stretches across Spain, there is no ocean, it will last only 6 days, and is 112 km long. It is somewhat easier in terms of difficulty than the Spanish and Portuguese routes, but this does not mean that it will be too easy.
The first two days the distances will be less, and on the third day we'll walk 20+ kilometers a day like real pilgrims. There will be picturesque Spanish towns, beautiful vineyards and hundreds of pilgrims on the way. Everyone is walking with a different goal. The backpack is not heavy - we take only the most necessary things, a change of clothes and shoes. If you want you can take it on the transfer and go practically without anything.
In just a week you can feel the unique atmosphere of real pilgrims, and meet interesting people.

The Route of Saint James is one of the most famous hiking trails in Europe, which in recent years has been gaining popularity not only among pilgrim pilgrims but also among ordinary tourists who have nothing to do with religion.

The nearest airport to Tuy is Vigo. We recommend flying here. Or to Santiago de Compostela. From the airport we take a bus or a shuttle to Tui. It is a small Spanish town where the group will meet at the hostel or at the albergue, tentatively after 14.00. The exact location and time of the meeting will be further informed in a letter a week before the campaign.
There is a free program for that day. Who arrives early can walk around on their own, or wait for everyone. Many people may have a late flight, it's no big deal. Overnight here in the pre-booked albergue.
If all participants of the group arrived the day before, we go out on the trail early, but no later than 10 am. Today we will have a short and easy hike. We will be able to enjoy the unique nature of the town and the architecture of its old medieval streets.
There are quite a few ancient cathedrals in Tuy that we will be able to see along the way. Definitely they were built by talented architects - the grandeur of buildings is fascinating. But we will not stay long here, we go on, on the way we meet other pilgrims, just like us.
Our goal for today is the small town of Porigno. There are some amazing chapels, if you want you can walk to them. But the most interesting part is on the way. The streets, the unique atmosphere of the city and of course - the color of the locals. Spaniards are people who enjoy life and they do it well. And siesta is an integral part of their lives.
Overnight at the albergue.
Hiking: 13 km
New experiences and new beautiful views await us today. The trail is expected to be flat most of the time, with no elevation gradients. The first part of the day will be spent almost all day in open sunlight, so we will be very happy when we get to the forests and cool suburbs of Redondel. Next, our route will already be easier. If desired, we will make a small stop before the town. We will have a rest and continue our route.
We spend the night in the bustling town of Redondela. Here we will meet many more pilgrims, because here we cross the paths of the Portuguese part of the Camino.
Distance: 16 km.
Our journey today begins with a paved road. But it is not long at all. After leaving the city, we come out to another trail, enveloped in the cozy shadows of forests and the fragrance of wildflowers.
The crossing is much more difficult today, as there are several protracted climbs ahead. But no hills will scare us, we will pass them with pleasure and for interesting stories.
On the way we will often meet the symbol of the pilgrims - seashells. They are left by the pilgrims themselves, usually near the signs. And also attach them to their backpacks. How could it be without it? There is a belief about these shells, which says that whoever leaves them on the way the camino, will certainly return here again.
Another amazing forest awaits us, the locals call it the forest of Druids. And behind it is the more populated city of Pontevedra. Here we will spend the night. We will walk along the ancient streets, have dinner in a cozy restaurant and spend the night in one of the pre-booked accommodation.
Distance: 17 km.
Today should be an interesting and eventful day. We'll have a quick breakfast and try to get out on the trail sooner rather than later, as the scorching sun can really get to us in the afternoon. Who rents his stuff for transportation - be sure to bring sunscreen. And as usual already - a bottle of water. Of course there will be points along the route where you can refill water, but it's better to have water with you.
Today will give us a lot of beautiful landscapes and a unique atmosphere of the Spanish settlements. There will be especially many vineyards along the way. There seem to be endless plantations of them. Locals make aromatic wine from these grapes, which everyone can taste.
Besides the vineyards we will admire many ancient churches, dating back to XII-XVI centuries.
Distance: 22 km.
More and more pilgrims will be encountered on our way, because the final goal is very close. So we'll be getting more and more noisy from here on out. The small towns along the way will be crowded and bustling. More and more sellers and locals invite you to buy their indispensable attribute of all pilgrims - shells, and the local cafes are almost never empty.
The scenery around beckons the eye and makes you completely disconnect from all thoughts and worries. And the picturesque scenery of the Berman River conjures up thoughts of something light, touching, and timeless. In this place we will stop for a while, take a short photo session and continue our route further.
Overnight stay in one of the local albergues.
Distance: 24 km.
Well, it's the last day of our journey. There is a long crossing ahead. But that doesn't scare us anymore. We have traveled much more, so the last spurt will only be a joy.
The bustling Spanish towns await us again, dozens of pilgrims along the way, and large crowds at Santiago de Cosostela. Because this is where all the pilgrims who have chosen their camino head. Here everyone can be inspired by the special atmosphere after a fascinating service in the cathedral. And it is here that everyone will receive their certificate in the evening.
Overnight stays in this city. But if you have late night departures from Santiago, you can buy tickets. You will be able to leave after 10 p.m.
Definitely, each of you felt something special, unforgettable, and almost always make a wish to come back here again, only to pass another part.
Our program ends today. Some can fly home and some can continue their journey. There are many interesting places in Spain.
We recommend a trip to the famous Cape Fistera, to the ends of the earth. But you have to budget at least one day for that.

According to the weather conditions and general wishes of the group, the teamleader has the right to make changes to the itinerary.
For the citizens of Ukraine to visit Spain it is enough to have a biometric passport, insurance and a return ticket (you may be asked for these documents at the airport). Citizens of other countries need a Schengen multivisa or a visa to Spain specifically for the tour Way of Santiago. We provide the necessary documents and help with processing. It is not as scary as it may seem at first glance ;)
To participate in the trek, you must not have any diseases from this list.
As always, we recommend that you buy your tickets in advance, but only after we have confirmed your participation in the trip.
We recommend flying into Vigo airport, which is the closest to Tui. Sometimes the best option is to fly to Madrid first. And then fly to Vigo from there. But the airport of Santiago de Compostela can also be considered as a city of arrival. From there you should take a bus to Tua. But in that case you should allow more time for internal travel.
In order to find the most convenient option, compare prices on aggregator sites and check directly with the airlines. Don't be afraid to take a 1-2 day layover. Sometimes it is more advantageous in terms of price than taking a ticket for the exact dates of the trip, even taking into account accommodation and meals in Spain.

The group meets at the albergue in Thuy. You can come to the meeting at any time on the first day of the program. Detailed information with the meeting place and the guide's contacts will be sent to you 7-10 days before the start of the hike, be sure to check your email!
It is possible to arrive later during the day or late in the evening or early the next morning, but in that case be sure to warn the guide about your flight.
Tickets back it is better to look at the next day after the end of the hike. Departing from the same town, Santiago de Compostela has a small airport that operates flights within the country.
It is acceptable to leave on the last day of the end of the tour, after 10 p.m. But then you will probably miss most of the ceremonial service in the cathedral.

Along the route it is possible to order the transfer of things, it makes the hike much easier. If you are not confident in your abilities, or you do not want to carry a backpack on your back, let the manager know in advance so that we can book a transfer. The price starts from 5€ per day. Or up to 40 euros for the whole trip.
This is no ordinary hike. It is an ancient pilgrim trail. And for hundreds of years, the inhabitants of the towns through which the route passes have built many shelters for travelers. They are called albergues.
Every year the Camino Way is becoming more and more popular among pilgrims and ordinary tourists. But the number of places in the municipal albergues remains the same, and they cannot be booked in advance. Often travelers have to stage a real race to get their place for the night. Needless to say, this brings great inconvenience and reduces the enjoyment of the Trail.
Since 2020, we've started booking private Albergue accommodations for our participants in advance, thus solving the problem of overnight stays. You get more comfortable lodging, a guarantee of an overnight location (no rush during the day's crossing). The group is placed differently each night, i.e. it means that half of the route - accommodation for 2-3-4 people in rooms, with private bathrooms, and the other half of the hike - albergue and hotels with accommodation for 6-8-10 people per room. The bathrooms in these rooms are shared.

Meals on the route can be quite diverse. Breakfasts are included in the cost of the tour, lunches and dinners you order on your own in restaurants, for extra money.
If the albergue where the group will be staying does not provide breakfast, we will buy groceries along the route and have a bite to eat, or with a cafe nearby.
Minimum group for this program: 5 participants. We have calculated the costs for a smaller number, but increased them slightly. So as not to be in the red ourselves.
So we can confirm the date earlier, and you will have the opportunity to buy tickets and plan your unforgettable trip!
The total amount of extras, which are not included in the price, will be from 250 euros - depending on your appetite. In the cafe you can have dinner from €20-25. Gourmets will surely want to bring home a variety of cheeses and taste local seafood delicacies, to keep that in mind :) We advise having €100-200 to spare on your card.
