Easter Island is one of the most mysterious places on our planet. Lost amid the boundless waters of the Pacific Ocean, more than 3,500 kilometers away from the mainland, the island was nevertheless inhabited by people since ancient times. And not just ordinary people, but ones capable of creating a fairly developed civilization that left behind a grandiose historical trace in the form of hundreds of giant statues called "moai". Their height ranges from three to an incredible twenty meters, and their weight exceeds dozens of tons! How ancient people could carve, and more importantly, transport and erect such giant statues across the island remained a mystery to scientists for a long time.
The famous traveler and Norwegian anthropologist Thor Heyerdahl came close to solving this mystery, having conducted archaeological excavations on the island for an entire year. What exactly he managed to discover about the mystery of the moai is for us to find out during our journey across Rapa Nui, as the local inhabitants themselves call Easter Island. We will find ourselves in the heart of Rapa Nui National Park, visit the quarries in the crater of the Rano Raraku volcano, and see numerous "ahu" – ceremonial platforms with moai stone statues erected on them, the most famous of which are: Ahu Tongariki, Ahu Tahai, Ahu Nau Nau, Anakena Beach, and many others. We will stay at one of the hotels in the small, welcoming town of Hanga Roa, from where we will take excursions to the most picturesque corners of Easter Island, after which we will return to the capital of Chile, where our incredible adventure will come to an end.
Attention! This program is an addition to our grand tour of Chile from north to south. The trip to Rapa Nui starts right after its completion, join us!
During this tour, we will explore all the fascinating sights of the famous Easter Island.
We do not cancel or reschedule groups. If a consultant has given the green light to buy a ticket, you can safely purchase it. The program will not be cancelled through our fault.
Experienced Kuluar team leaders will accompany the group throughout the entire route, making your trip as unforgettable and safe as possible! They have already been to South America many times and know the route in detail.
The consultant who will advise you before the trip knows the route thoroughly and will tell you about it in detail.
Over the years of the club's operation, we have developed an algorithm that allows us to organize hikes and climbs as professionally as possible. You can see this for yourself by applying to participate.

We'll spend the day getting acquainted with the sights of the Chilean capital. We'll head to the city's central square, Plaza de Armas, where we'll visit the Cathedral and walk to the La Moneda Palace – the official residence of the President of Chile. We'll also view the exhibits of the Pre-Columbian Art Museum, after which we'll stroll through the park on Santa Lucía Hill and take the cable car up to the Cerro San Cristóbal viewpoint.
If tickets for an evening flight are available, we'll fly to Easter Island today so we can begin exploring the island's history starting tomorrow morning. Otherwise, we'll prepare for an early morning departure the next day.
The flight from Santiago to Easter Island takes about 5 hours, as the distance is quite considerable – about 3,500 kilometers. This island is the most remote from the mainland, which is why it holds so many historical mysteries that historians and anthropologists from all over the world are still trying to solve to this day. Right after arrival, we'll check into our lodge and set off to explore the archaeological sites closest to the town of Hanga Roa.
Today we have a full-day excursion around Easter Island ahead of us. We'll visit Rapa Nui National Park, the picturesque Anakena Beach, the quarries in the crater of the Rano Raraku volcano, and the famous moai statues on the ocean shore at Ahu Tongariki. In the evening, we'll admire the sunset, after which, if desired, you can go to dinner with a traditional costumed show and dancing.
In the morning we will see the archaeological and natural sights remaining in the southern part of the island – the Rano Kau volcano crater and the excavations of the Orongo village. In the afternoon we head to the airport and fly back to Santiago.
Now you can confidently say that you have seen all the most remarkable corners of Chile: Patagonia, Atacama and Easter Island. These unique places deserve a place in the collection of the most experienced travelers who have seen the world. And now you are among them! With pride and pleasure, you can head home, go through your photos, and tell your relatives, colleagues, and friends about your adventures.
Depending on weather conditions, the group's condition and general wishes, the guide has the right to make changes to the route.
Ukrainians do not need a visa to visit Chile. The only document required is an international passport valid for more than 6 months at the time of entry into the country.
Chile has extremely strict customs regulations that prohibit the import of any unprocessed plant and animal products. Theoretically, processed and factory-packaged products are allowed, for example, canned goods, roasted peanuts in sealed packaging, or a cereal bar, but raw nuts, fresh vegetables, fruits, etc. are not allowed. Keep this in mind if you want to bring snacks. Also, these products cannot be transported on flights even between regions within Chile.
To participate in the trip, you must not have any illnesses incompatible with active tourism: list here.
Flights to Santiago de Chile are available from European countries. The cost of such an international flight starts from $1300, but it may vary slightly depending on the time of purchase and departure dates. When choosing a flight, keep in mind that with short layovers of less than 2 hours, there is a high chance your luggage will be delayed and only delivered a couple of days later. So try to choose longer layovers or pack in advance all the items you'll need for the first days in your carry-on luggage.
