Our tour is a modern take on the classic Grand Tour of the Alps. In the 18th–19th centuries, the term “Grand Tour” referred to an extended journey across Europe during which travelers explored the continent’s most famous cultural and natural landmarks. We reinvented this tradition: in 7 days by car and train, with nights in cozy hotels, you'll visit the most iconic Alpine regions without heavy physical effort — the Dolomites, Matterhorn from Zermatt, and Mont Blanc - the summit of Europe.
The journey starts in the Dolomites: visit Seceda plateau and alpine villages like Santa Magdalena, famous for its postcard views.
Next — Switzerland and the town of Zermatt. A scenic train ride to Gornergrat offers views of dozens of peaks, including the Matterhorn.
We end near Mont Blanc, seen from both France and Italy. You'll take a cable car to Brévent, walk with glacier views, and hike to the Walter Bonatti hut.

The group meets at Bergamo Airport. Ideally, everyone arrives by 12:00, giving us enough time to comfortably explore the day’s highlights.
We drive toward the town of Brescia for our first stop: lunch at a local restaurant, a short briefing, and team introductions. The teamleader will share details about the days ahead.
Next, we continue to Lake Garda. Traveling from south to north, we stop at several scenic viewpoints for short walks and photos.
This day is relaxed, with no physical effort required — it’s designed to help you ease into the rhythm of the journey. By evening, we leave Lombardy and enter the Trentino region. Overnight in the outskirts of Bolzano — already within the Dolomites.

We begin the day with breakfast and book our cable car tickets online. After an hour’s drive, we arrive in Ortisei and take the cable car to Seceda — a dramatic alpine plateau of jagged peaks and green meadows. After walking the trails, we pause at a mountain restaurant for lunch or a cappuccino.
From there, we continue to Santa Magdalena — the iconic Dolomites village known for panoramic views of the Geisler Peaks and traditional alpine huts. We’ll see the famous hilltop church in the golden evening light.
In the evening, we drive toward Austria. The 3-hour drive gives everyone a chance to rest while we maximize our daylight in the mountains. From this point onward, most drives will be shorter or in the mornings.

In the morning, we cross the border into Switzerland via a scenic forest route. We board a cable car to Hoher Kasten, our first location today. At the top, we enjoy breakfast or coffee at the summit restaurant with views over the Rhine Valley and the surrounding peaks of Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein, as well as a mountain range with peaks around 2,300 meters and a high-altitude lake. The highest point of the range is Mount Säntis (2,502 m).
Later, we head toward Lauterbrunnen Valley, stopping en route at Giessbach Waterfall — one of Switzerland’s most picturesque. Within an hour, we arrive in Lauterbrunnen, surrounded by vertical cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Some say it inspired the elven landscapes in The Lord of the Rings.
We ascend by funicular to Mürren, a small village overlooking the entire valley.

The day begins in Lauterbrunnen Valley and combines hiking, alpine views, a unique car-train tunnel ride, and a magical evening in Zermatt.
Our first stop is Oeschinen Lake near Kandersteg. It is fed by glacial waters, which give it a distinctive turquoise color that changes depending on the weather and time of year. We ride the cable car up and begin a scenic hike beyond the lake’s shores, climbing to a viewpoint with panoramic views of glaciers and 3000m peaks. If weather and group condition allow, we complete the full Oeschinen Loop — one of the most beautiful trails in the region. If not, we return via the same path.
Then comes a unique experience: boarding a train platform that carries cars through a tunnel — no need to get out. A perfect time to snack and rest.
A few hours later, we arrive in Zermatt — a car-free town at the foot of the Matterhorn. After exiting the platform, we drive the last short stretch, park the car, and explore Zermatt on foot. In the evening, we’ll see the Matterhorn bathed in the last rays of sunlight — a perfect end to the day.

From Zermatt, the alpine town that offers views of the Matterhorn, we board the Gornergrat Bahn train, which takes us to the Gornergrat summit (3,100 m). The ride lasts about 40 minutes and already during the ascent, we’re treated to the first breathtaking panoramas.
At the top, we visit the observation deck, which opens up a view of 29 peaks above 4,000 meters, including the Matterhorn, the Monte Rosa massif, and the Gorner Glacier. There’s also an observatory and a café here — a convenient spot for a short break before we begin our hike.
From Gornergrat station, we begin the descent toward Riffelsee Lake. The trail gently leads downhill through open alpine terrain, with the Matterhorn constantly visible on the horizon. In good weather, you can see its mirror reflection in the lake’s surface — one of the most iconic views in the region.
From the lake, we continue on toward Riffelberg station, passing alpine meadows and a second, smaller lake. The total hiking time from Gornergrat to Riffelberg is about 4 hours, depending on the group’s pace and stops for photos.
From Riffelberg, we return to Zermatt by train on the Gornergrat Bahn. Here, we transfer to another train that brings us back to the parking area where we left the car the day before. We leave the valley, driving along the highway between the towns of Visp and Martigny, shortening the route to our next destination — Mont Blanc, which we’ll see the following day.

The morning begins at a hotel near the Col du Grand-Saint-Bernard — one of the oldest Alpine passes, connecting Switzerland with Italy. Its elevation is 2,469 meters. The road through the pass is open only during the warmer months.
Along the route, we’ll see panoramic views of the Alps — mountain ridges, rocky slopes, and alpine meadows. Near the summit of the pass lies a small mountain lake and a historic Augustinian monastery, founded in the 11th century. This is the very place where the famous Saint Bernard dogs were first bred — used for rescuing travelers lost in snowstorms.
Crossing the pass is a memorable experience, with plenty of opportunities for panoramic photos. As we gradually descend, we first arrive in the town of Aosta, and then continue to the well-known resorts of Courmayeur and Chamonix (France).
From Chamonix, we head to our first viewpoint — the Brévent summit, which offers a sweeping view of the entire Mont Blanc massif. At the very top, there’s a café with a terrace, where you can enjoy a coffee and take photos with the Les Aiguilles de Chamonix peaks in the background.
After a break at Brévent summit, we descend to the Plan Praz mid-station and from there begin a hike to Flegère. Throughout the hike, Mont Blanc remains clearly visible. Just a few hundred meters below Flegère station, there’s a small artificial lake where the surrounding mountains are often reflected in the water — we’ll take about 30 minutes to visit it. After that, we can return to the cable car station and ride back down.
We’ll spend the final evening of the tour at a restaurant in the town of Chamonix.

In the morning, we return from France to Italy through the Mont Blanc tunnel, heading toward Courmayeur to complete the final hike of the journey and see Mont Blanc from the Italian side.
The route to the Walter Bonatti Hut is one of the most popular sections of the Tour du Mont Blanc on the Italian side of the massif. The trail runs at an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters, offering continuous views of the Mont Blanc massif, including peaks such as Dent du Géant, Grandes Jorasses, and the glaciers that descend into the Val Ferret valley.
We stop for lunch at the hut’s café, and after the break, descend back to the car.
The default return plan for participants includes a transfer to Bergamo Airport. Together with the consultant, each participant should plan their flight time.
We recommend booking late evening flights, as the drive from the trailhead to the airport will take approximately 4 hours after the hike.
An alternative option is to stay in Courmayeur and travel independently to Geneva using public transport.
Another possible option is flying out from Milan Malpensa Airport. Our route does not pass directly by this airport, but with prior agreement between the participant and the consultant, the teamleader can make an additional loop to drop you off.

For Ukrainian citizens with a biometric passport, no visa is needed to visit the Alps. You may be asked to show your travel insurance at the border.

Over the course of this 7-day tour, you’ll stay in 6 different locations. A highlight of the experience is overnighting in Zermatt and Chamonix — giving you time to soak up the unique charm of these iconic alpine towns and stroll their cozy evening streets.
Here’s what to expect when it comes to accommodation:
Mountain chalet – Twin rooms with separate mattresses for each guest (family-style shared beds available on request). Chalets are fully equipped for a comfortable stay.
Modern bed & breakfast hotels – These offer easy morning check-outs and a high level of service. They're located near main roads for convenient access to key attractions.
Shared apartments for the group – Spacious apartments with three bedrooms and a shared lounge — a great place to relax together in the evening.
Mountain huts – In some locations, we stay in cozy alpine huts with twin rooms and shared bathrooms. These are reachable only on foot, giving you a taste of true mountain living.

All cable cars and mountain train rides are not included in the tour price. That’s because mountain weather can change quickly — and in case of rain, we adapt the program: for example, we might choose a lower-altitude hike, visit another town, or take a scenic valley walk instead.
To avoid spending money on a lift into the clouds, we usually buy tickets online about a day in advance, once we have a reliable forecast. We do this together each evening at the hotel or restaurant.
The maximum total cost of lifts (cable cars + mountain trains) during the 7-day trip may reach up to €460, but this amount can vary depending on the actual route and group decisions.

This itinerary is designed for those who want to see the most iconic Alpine views — Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, and Seceda in the Dolomites — without intense physical effort, but still with real mountain walks.
Each day, we use cable cars and mountain trains to reach high viewpoints quickly and comfortably, skipping long uphill climbs on foot.
All hikes are selected with basic fitness in mind. These are adapted high-altitude walks without steep ascents, technical terrain, or long distances. You won’t just admire the mountains from afar — you’ll walk scenic trails, visit alpine lakes, and enjoy glacier views from panoramic terraces — all with the option to return to comfort at any time.
This format is perfect for active travelers without mountain trekking experience. The main challenges are changes in weather and altitude. Midway through the route, there's an option to complete a 7+ km hike, so you’ll need basic stamina and readiness for 1–3 hour walks.
And if you ever feel like skipping a day — no problem. You can relax in a café near the car and rejoin the group later, without disrupting anyone’s experience.
Over 7 days, we’ll cover approximately 1,500 km by car. The longest drives take place on Day 1, Day 2, and the final day. On the other days, driving distances average around 150 km per day (you’ll find exact numbers in the day-by-day itinerary).
Our travel pace will vary: on highways after the airport, we’ll move efficiently, while in the mountains, we’ll slow down — alpine passes often turn 100 km into a few hours. This gives us time for more stops, enjoying the scenery, and visiting special spots along the way.
This tour is quite intensive, so most days start early. It’s likely your teamleader will ask everyone to be ready to leave the hotel by 9:00, so we can reach the cable cars or mountain trains by 9:30 — often among the first. This way, we enjoy more time at altitude and still have the evening free for a relaxed dinner.
During the tour, we spend the night near the Lauterbrunnen Valley, close to the mountain village of Mürren. This is where one of the most famous via ferrata routes in the Alps begins — a thrilling trail along vertical cliffs with steel cables, suspension bridges, and jaw-dropping views of Lauterbrunnen Valley and its waterfalls.
This activity is not part of the main program, but since we’re staying nearby and will likely meet travelers who came here just for this route, you’ll have the chance to join — if you have the energy and desire.
Gear (harness, helmet, safety clips) can be rented locally. Important note: to keep pace with the main itinerary, you’ll need to wake up earlier than the rest of the group and complete the via ferrata before our scheduled departure.
It’s a great add-on for very active participants who want to spice up their trip with a bit of adrenaline.

The base price of the program is €1690 for a group of 5 participants. We’ve also calculated adjusted prices for smaller groups — slightly increased to cover basic costs without loss. This allows us to confirm the date earlier, so you can book your flights and start planning your unforgettable trip.
Total mandatory expenses not included in the tour price: ~€760 + airfare.
