Mont Blanc is an iconic peak, because it was with the first ascent to the highest point of the Alps, back in 1786, that mountaineering began.
The Matterhorn is one of the most beautiful and often pictured mountains. Its profile is recognized by everyone who has anything to do with climbing.
Climbing the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc in one trip is a unique adventure and a priceless experience. We will be able to climb the most beautiful peaks of the Alps on non-standard routes with experienced guides, enjoy the green Italian side of Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn, make an acclimatization climb from the French side near Chamonix and much more!
This program is intended for participants who already have experience of ascents in big mountains (for example Kazbek, Elbrus, Mont Blanc through the Hut Gouter, etc.), and who know the techniques of using equipment for descending and ascent. Routes require participants to be confident in crampon hiking, rock climbing, and use of various mountaineering equipment.
Required experience to participate. There are several options:
1. You are experienced enough climber. You have experience of ascents on alpinist routes of AD/D alpine categories of difficulty (according to the system accepted in Ukraine it is 3b-4a categories).
2. You have experience of climbing less difficult peaks on our programs (Mont Blanc through Gute, Kazbek, and Elbrus), but not enough technical experience. In this case you should pass our training programs: basic level (obligatory) and advanced level or rock program (at your choice). If you do not have possibility to take part in training programs according to the dates please contact our managers. In such cases we can select other variants of training up to individual lessons.
3. You do not have the necessary experience. In this case in the nearest season you most likely should not try to ascend the Matterhorn, as at this stage "anguish" will be much more than pleasure. But we can offer you options for a training program, summiting and training programs, so that in the coming seasons you will be ready for this ascent as well (and maybe even in the same season, if you start preparing at the very beginning of the year).

The group meets the guide at an agreed location (depending on the circumstances, it may be the group's campsite, apartments, bus station). First of all, the guide checks the equipment of each participant. If something is missing, do not worry - in fact, everything can be bought on the spot. The prices are approximately the same as at us. In the evening all participants can get acquainted with each other and their guide(s) and ask any questions about the program. Overnight at the campsite, if you want you can stay at a hotel, apartments (not included in the price, but our managers will help you find them, if necessary).
Today we have an early rise and transfer to the village Le Tour. From there we will ascend the Le Tour glacier to the Albert I hut (2,702 m). The trekking is not technically difficult, but quite long. We will spend the night in a comfortable hut to rest before the ascent tomorrow.
Today we will climb one of the classic routes in the area of Alberta Hut 1. Teamleaders will choose the line according to the situation and optimal conditions. Our task today is once again to practice cramponing and hiking on different terrains. We leave early in the morning. By the lunch time we will go down to the hut, have a snack, rest, and go down - to Chamonix.
We have a lot of climbing to do today, so the day will be long and challenging. We have to climb up the grass and scree slopes and then drive up the glacier in bundles to the hut at 3075 m. We rest, have dinner and get ready for the early ascent.
Today we will try to climb the highest point of the Alps on the so-called Italian ridge. Here we will need all our skills - the ridge is quite steep and sharp. Then the route converges with the classic route on the French side. A short rest at the summit and down to the Gonella hut.
We go down the familiar path from the Gonella Hut to Val Veni. Here we will have a rest and eat real Italian pizza at the campsite for a celebratory dinner in honor of the ascent :-). Here you'll have a rest and spend the night.
(Depending on the speed and condition of the group it will be possible to leave immediately to Cervinia.)
Today is a good night's sleep after a hard day on Mont Blanc. Then we take the familiar route to Courmayeur and from there to Cervinia. The rest of the day we rest.
The most important day of the program! Climbing the Matterhorn - the most beautiful peak of the Alps! We rise far before dawn - because usually there are enough climbers in Karel Hut, and we need to avoid the "queues" on the ridge as much as possible. A big drop and a lot of difficult terrain will require us to work hard, but, weather permitting, at the summit there will be a chance to admire a really gorgeous view! A short rest, and then we start the descent back to the hut, where we will stay for the night.
We take the familiar route down to the Abruzzi hut and on to Cervinia. If time permits, we go straight to Chamonix, where we can relax and enjoy a festive dinner!
This day will be used as a backup in case of bad weather.
In case of prolonged bad weather this day in part can also be used as a reserve. Therefore, the coordinators will advise you to take tickets for a later time or for the following days (accommodation beyond the program dates is not included in the price of the program).
Depending on the weather conditions and general wishes of the group, the teamleader has the right to make changes to the route.
To visit France and Italy, you must have a valid Schengen or biometric passport. Whoever needs a visa, we can help with visa processing.
You must have no illnesses from this list in order to participate in the hike.

The most favorable season for climbing Mont Blanc and Matterhorn is considered the period from late June to early September. This is when the weather is warmest and most stable.
In summer the temperature in Chamonix rises to +25 and above during the day, but with increasing altitude it becomes significantly colder. Night temperatures at an altitude of 3800 can drop to -20, at the very top during the ascent the temperature is usually kept around -5 ... -10 degrees.
To climb the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc you need to be in good physical shape. Start running 3-4 months before you start the program and train at least three times a week. Remember that it is not the speed of running that matters, but the distance. A good result is if you can run 10 kilometers at an easy pace without a significant increase in your heart rate.
In addition to endurance, you need arm strength. Do pull-ups, push-ups, or just go to a rock climbing wall. In addition to training the necessary muscle groups, you will also develop your coordination.
All special equipment can be rented in Chamonix and not taken from home. It is not cheap, to rent the whole set (boots, crampons, ice axe, system, helmet) will cost 150-200 euros.

The amount of additional expenses depends on your wishes and the weather. Minimum 50-100 € for food in Cervinia, for the transfer Geneva-Cervinia-Geneva or Milan-Cervinia-Milan + flight (about 200 €). Additional nights in mountain shelters - from another 50 € per night.
