I discovered the mountains for myself in 2017. It was holiday time, and I needed to plan how I would spend 24 days. The city and a cottage in the countryside were no longer an option; I needed a change. I barely survived my first hike. I chose a five-day hike along the Chornohora Ridge with a tent in the Carpathians, and to top it all off, I ended up in the thunderstorm season. I had no hiking experience and no proper kit. I told myself I’d never go hiking again, but two weeks later – I was on Borzhava. A few months later, I joined a sports club. I took part in sporting competitions and started going on graded hikes. I’ve been to the mountains of Ukraine, Slovakia, Poland, Georgia, Turkey and Norway.
In the mountains, I found friends, kindred spirits, people who share my outlook and are just as crazy as I am.
For me, the mountains represent freedom – a place where you can truly be yourself and feel at one with the universe. I want everyone to have the chance to ‘experience beauty’, to enjoy nature and to be inspired by its splendour. This is where I can help: I can advise you on equipment and help you choose a hike.
May you enjoy the beautiful scenery and wonderful photos!

There was no question at all about who to go hiking with, since this was already our fourth hike with Kuluar, and we were completely satisfied with
the previous three, so all that was left was to choose a route.
August 1–3, 2026. Three days—though actually four, since I arrived a day early—were a time of transformation, reflection, and relaxation for me.... I walked 72 km and cleared my head. I saw the beauty, breathed in the fresh air, chatted with interesting people, ate delicious food, and sang along to songs accompanied by a guitar. Thank you to the organizers, and to Dmytro, who told stories, offered support, and worried that he might be walking too fast. I walked at my own pace because the steep climbs were very difficult, plus the heat isn’t really my thing. And now I understand why those trekking poles are necessary.
