Hello, friends. Your safety and well-being on our journey mean everything to us — we want you to come home happy, healthy, and full of amazing memories! That’s why we’ve taken a systematic approach to creating and updating our internal rules and principles for first aid on our trips.
In 2025, we revised these guidelines.
Every year, Kuluar team leaders complete first-aid training. Based on what they learn and on Kuluar’s basic guidelines, our team leaders assemble the group first-aid kits.
Team leaders are responsible for the group first-aid kit: They follow basic recommendations to select the necessary medications for the trip, keep track of expiration dates, and update the kit if anything is used.
We choose medications wisely and carefully: We only bring what we know we might actually need. The medications in our group kit are chosen to be as effective, safe, and easy to use as possible.
We consider several factors when packing the kit: The region, the length of the hike, the size of the group, and how quickly we can reach a doctor if a serious situation arises. We start with a basic set of supplies, then add any special items as needed for particular conditions.
We aim for a minimal but sufficient set that can help in most common situations.

1. Bandages and Dressings:
2. Antiseptics and Ointments:
3. Antihistamines (Allergy medication):
4. Painkillers, Fever Reducers, Anti-Inflammatories (NSAIDs):
5. For Respiratory Symptoms:
6. Cardiovascular:
7. Gastrointestinal Issues:
8. Additionally:
Please note: the contents of the group first-aid kit may change for each trip, depending on the route and region.
Each of you should also have your own first-aid kit. Make sure you bring any medications you personally need and know how to use. (You can check what to pack in an individual first-aid kit for the mountains in our other articles.)
Important! Share any health concerns or special conditions with your team leader — it could be crucial for providing first aid in certain situations. We want you to explore the mountains safely, and we hope you’ll need as few medications as possible during your adventures!
