Briefly about myself
Hi, I'm Anastasia Domanova - a hiker with experience in mountain climbing.
I raved about mountains since childhood, after visiting the exhibition of paintings by Roerich (Himalayan series). The dream to get to Tibet and to the high mountains led me first to the Caucasus, to Elbrus, and then it became difficult to stop - Nepal, Tibet, Cambodia, the Dolomites, the Carpathians, the Canary Mountains and so on for 20 years.
I'm also a wildlife, landscape and documentary photographer, and I believe that the closer you are to Nature, the closer you are to yourself; that the best yoga is over 2000 meters above sea level; the tastiest food is in the mountains; a backpack is better than dumbbells, and broken legs, a burned back or shortness of breath from lack of oxygen are quite adequate payment for the best sunset in your life. Only by rising above the world can you understand all its beauty, perfection and relativity.
I am the author of the YouTube channel "Navprostets" (old name "Girl in a hike"), where I post tips for beginner hikers and my documentary short films about hiking. The channel was initially created specifically for girls hikers, but for some reason it is mostly popular with guys))).
I am fond of light hiking and before the war I tried to develop this topic in Ukraine, where it is not yet as popular as in the USA, for example. As part of my activism founded a small family brand of lightweight gear Equinox Adventure. You may even have one of our titanium woks in your equipment collection.
10 years ago I discovered the Canary archipelago, climbed the highest point of Spain, volcano Teide, and became seriously ill with volcanology and anthropology. Since then, every year for about a month I devoted myself to exploring known and unknown routes in different Canary Islands - Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro, Gran Canaria.
February 24, 2022 caught me on the island of Tenerife, where after a month of filming a film about Gran Canaria and collecting volcanic ashes in La Palma, I decided to devote a few more weeks to rest and video editing.
Now I am actively volunteering for my country, and in my spare time I continue to explore this "little continent" that has become a second home and refuge for me in difficult times. And despite the sad occasion, I am glad that my favorite volcano, Teide, is now not 5 hours away by plane, but 1 hour by car. It feels happy, but a little strange. I guess it's like when the love of your life suddenly calls you to move in together and live together, after years of very sparse dating! ))))
