About the Teamleader

Briefly about myself

My name is Oleksandr, I am a traveler, tourist and climber from Odessa.

Somehow it happened that my parents are tourists themselves and from my childhood they took me hiking and traveling. I do not even remember myself not to go hiking and travel anywhere:) I have always been enticed by everything new, but after many different attempts I was conquered by mountains. So I became engaged in sports tourism, climbing and mountaineering, and still in school went to Elbrus and my first technical routes.

Since then I have never been able to stop. At first I got to all the nearby mountainous areas, and then it was not enough for me, and I started organizing and leading hikes and ascents myself, discovering new areas, new places and new emotions together for myself and my participants. Now I have in my account quite a few sport victories, a number of visited mountain areas, several first ascents, and a whole arsenal of stories about my adventures.

I also worked as a lifeguard for many years, which means I'm safe in any situation) In addition, I'm also fond of photography. I love taking pictures of nature and the people in that nature.

  • 4 k.s. with elements of 5 k.s. water, participation, Carpathians, Karelia.
  • 2k.s hiking, leadership, Crimea, the Carpathians.

About 20 first-passages in the Caucasus, Pamir and Tien Shan.

Multi-race: 3rd place in "Chernigov Hundred", 1st place in the first X-Winter, multiple participant in the race 100 for 24.

The title of "senior instructor", was awarded the Order "For courage and bravery" for saving a man's life.

The hike was perfectly organized by the Kuluar group, from the publication on the website, the work of consultants to the talented team leader Oleksandr Chobotar. With his help, we managed to visit all the two-thousanders and return to our routine life inspired to explore this world again one day. Friends, hello! Let me tell you about my trekking around Annapurna with a wonderful guide Sasha Pavlov, cheerful and friendly participants Viktor and Marina, and a reliable porter Santos. The trek was in 2021 and my review is a little late, but don't worry - I remember everything as if it were yesterday.

If you want to feel what mountaineering is like firsthand, I highly recommend going to the School where the instructor is Sasha Pavlov. An incredibly experienced and professional climber, who explains theoretical material well and accessibly, and also helps to work out all the practical skills. An interesting, witty storyteller and simply a very good person. I attended the Beginner Level Mountaineering School in early December 2021, and for me it was both my first introduction to mountaineering technique and my first winter trek in the Carpathians, which required some effort on my part. Nevertheless, the school's instructors, with great tact, helped me cope with the difficulties during the training process. I'm very grateful to Sasha for his patience, professionalism, and love for the mountains, which he passes on to his students. See you soon, and definitely until new ascents!)
