Update! In the 2024 season our rafting trips will be accompanied by a minibus. Group things, food, tents and other heavy things are transported separately.
The rafting route runs along the Dniester Canyon, along numerous rocks - the Podillia Tovtry, or as they are also called "Podillia Switzerland". These are the remains of the oldest barrier coral reef, formed many millions of years ago at the bottom of the Sarmatian Sea. It is a water adventure of historical, architectural and natural monuments.
In a team with experienced Kuluar Splav teamleaders, you will go through a simple but spectacular route for 3 days.
We have our own kayaks that are properly maintained, you get reliable, clean equipment
Splav becomes more comfortable - group and bulky items, food, and drinking water are not loaded into kayaks. Rafting is even more comfortable!

On this section of the Dniester, we are rafting according to the following schedule:
The group will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the railway station in Kamianets-Podilskyi. We will board a bus and travel to the fortress in Kamianets-Podilskyi. After the tour, we will proceed to the village of Velyka Slobidka, where we will begin our rafting trip through the picturesque areas of the Dniester River. We will conduct a briefing and prepare the kayaks for the trip.
In 2 hours from the beginning of the rafting, we pass along a unique natural monument - the picturesque "Shyshkovy hills". These are limestone cliffs of the Tovtrovy Ridge on the banks of the Dniester, which rise above the water like gray towers. From a distance, the three-row chain of cone-shaped hills, which rises 15-20 meters above the high bank of the Dniester, resembles cones. We invite you to climb up to the high bank, from where you can see how beautifully the river meanders between steep green slopes.
On the right bank, near the Ternava River, we have lunch. After eating, we rest by the river and walk downstream for a couple of hours, enjoying the views of the Dniester. Around 18:00 we come to the village of Subich where we set up camp.
Today we start early - the day promises to be very busy. First, we take a hike to a medieval rock monastery, which offers magnificent views of the opposite banks, fields, and valleys. Then we visit a unique location on the route - an unnamed rock arch.
In the afternoon, we will definitely swim in the Studenytsia River. Admiring the fantastic views of the shores, we get unnoticed to the heart of the Dniester - the Bakot Bay, which impresses with its immensity. We set up camp on the shore of the bay.
One of the stories about Bakota is worth knowing right now: there used to be several villages on the site of the reservoir, the largest of which was Bakota. Bakota means "desirable place," and it was an important political and administrative center of the Dniester Lowlands. In the 70s, downstream of the Dniester, they decided to build the Dniester Hydroelectric Power Plant, and about twenty villages were left underwater, people had to leave their homes.
Every evening, the rafting leader will add interesting stories because he was born and lives in the vicinity of these places.
After swimming in the Dniester in the morning and having a delicious breakfast, we get into the kayaks. After all, we need to cross the Bakota Bay to the other side, where we follow a good path to a unique place - St. Michael's Rock Monastery. It is considered to be the oldest in Podillia, with several cells in caves and springs of healing water.
Further along the route, we will climb the White Mountain, where the steep, high slopes of the Dniester, which are cut by deep canyons and ravines, offer incredible views of the blue of the "Podil Sea" - the huge Dniester reservoir. The landscapes of Bakota Bay are particularly impressive. This is an incredible place with special energy and is ideal for photo shoots.
We go down to our kayaks after a couple of hours of walking and walk a few more kilometers along the water to the village of Horaivka, where a minibus is waiting for us to take us back to Kamianets-Podilskyi.
Depending on the weather conditions, condition and general wishes of the group, the instructor has the right to make changes to the route.
To participate in the hike, you must not have any illnesses incompatible with active tourism.
The program price includes our standard three-person kayaks.
If you prefer a two-person kayak, there is an additional charge of 150 UAH per day of rafting (or 75 UAH per person).
We will reserve a two- or three-person kayak for you, depending on availability.
You are probably wondering what we will eat on the trip. Let us reassure you that there is no need to worry. Many participants say that they eat better on the trip than they do at home. The menu consists mainly of simple meals such as porridge and soups. Do not expect gourmet delicacies (although they may be available).
If you don't eat certain foods, be sure to let the manager know so that the trip leader can adjust the menu a little for you. We also recommend bringing some snacks with you, such as nuts or sweets. Your appetite will be much better on the trip than at home.
Please note that the menu presented is approximate. Team leaders usually have their own signature dishes that they like to treat participants to.

The group arrives at the place of overnight stay at approximately 18:00, where the escort car is already there and the process of setting up the camp, tables, fire, and herbal tea is underway. The team leader and the camp manager will help you choose a place and set up your tent. Every evening we plan to sit around the fire and chat with new friends. In the morning we pack up the tents, the camp manager packs up the group's equipment and leaves for the next place to spend the night.

There are also optional costs. Remember about the transfer. Participants also buy dried mushrooms, souvenirs and sometimes have dinner in a restaurant. We recommend having at least 300 UAH with you. The maximum is up to you.
