Cappadocia is often called the heart of modern Turkey. It fascinates and intrigues with its history, geography, and truly otherworldly beauty. Since ancient times, various peoples and nations have constantly succeeded one another in Cappadocia. Medes, Persians, Hittites, Phrygians, Macedonians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuk Turks, and Ottomans all lived here. Cappadocia is a small plateau located at an altitude of about a thousand meters above sea level, whose landscape has been shaped by volcanoes, water, and wind over thousands of years. But tourists are attracted not only by the uniqueness of Cappadocia's landscapes, but also by rock monasteries with ancient frescoes, multi-story underground cities, and other ancient man-made curiosities of this part of Turkey. Göreme National Park and its numerous caves are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. And this is no surprise, as there are almost no analogues to them anywhere in the world. Join the trip – the land of fairies will leave no one indifferent!
So far, the Cappadocia program is only available upon request. But we regularly run a trip along the Lycian Way with light backpacks and accommodation in guesthouses. This route is more eventful and diverse. You'll definitely love it!
Participants will enjoy a variety of fascinating excursions in Cappadocia: Göreme – a unique cave city, Pigeon Valley and Love Valley, the cave fortress of Uçhisar, the stone mushrooms of Pasabag Valley, and much more
We do not cancel or reschedule groups. If the consultant has given the go-ahead to purchase your ticket, feel free to buy it. The program will not be cancelled through our fault.

The opportunity to significantly save on gear by going on a climb together with Kuluar.
We will spend the first day on transfer to the starting point of our easy hike through Turkey. The most convenient way to reach our meeting point is by Pegasus Airlines flights Kharkiv – Kayseri and Antalya – Kharkiv, both flights with a layover in Istanbul. If you use other airlines, you will need to get to the meeting point by night bus Antalya – Göreme. Although there's nothing scary about this either, since all buses in Turkey are quite comfortable (the trip won't be exhausting), and most of the group will travel this way anyway.
Group participants meet and get acquainted with the instructor at 10:00 AM at the Göreme bus station. After getting acquainted, we will immediately go to settle into the campsite, where we will spend the next several nights. Our hike will begin after settling in and lunch. At the start of our walk, Güvercinlik – Pigeon Valley will open up before us. It is named so because there are many pigeon houses here and, accordingly, pigeons. We will leisurely walk through Güvercinlik towards the cave fortress of Uçhisar, which is built into the rock. Here we will climb to an observation platform. From its top we will see the breathtaking landscapes of Cappadocia. In the afternoon, Love Valley awaits us. Its stone formations have very unambiguous shapes. We will walk about 7 kilometers during the day and return to Göreme.
In the morning we will come face to face with the main symbol of Cappadocia – the stone mushrooms of Pashabag Valley. Nowhere else in the world will you see such mysterious geological formations. This surreal local landscape was created by volcanoes. Ash that turned into tuff and lava that turned into basalt – these are the main components of these strange sculptures. They resemble mutant mushrooms with several caps. A wide view of Pashabag Valley will open up to us along a path that skirts the Ak-Tepe plateau. We will admire the otherworldly beauty of this place and before we know it, we'll find ourselves at the cave village of Chavushin, where the Church of John the Baptist has survived to this day. Here we will make a stop and rest. After resting, we will continue to the Pink and Red Valleys, where the tuff deposits have a lovely pink and eerily blood-red coloring. After a wonderful day, another evening awaits us at the Goreme campsite. By the end of today we will have walked about 10 kilometers.
The farthest reaches of Cappadocia await us! The most convenient way to visit all these attractions is to book the Green Tour. And that's exactly what we'll do. The bus will take the group to the legendary ancient cave city of Derinkuyu. It was discovered by archaeologists relatively recently – only in 1960. Tens of thousands of people lived here many centuries ago, filling a space that descends 8 floors down and about eighty meters deep. The next place we will visit is Ihlara Canyon. Its surface is bordered by desert, while its walls are covered in continuous green thickets. A swift river flows along the bottom of the canyon. The ancient walls of Ihlara have remarkably well-preserved old monks' cells with numerous colorful frescoes. Next awaits a very unusual historical landmark – the rock-cut early Christian temple of Selime. It is a structure with two functions: first, a fortress, and second, a monastery. Selime is carved into the rock and is a confusing labyrinth of rooms rising all the way to its very top. After seeing these amazing places, we return to Goreme. Here you can buy themed souvenirs in the form of magnets or ceramic mushrooms as a memento of our excursions. People who have visited Cappadocia often tell stories of fairies appearing among the bizarrely shaped rocks after sunset. Only people whose pure and kind hearts have not lost faith in magic are able to see these tiny creatures. With this, our unforgettable excursion draws to a close. We remind you that you can reach Antalya by bus, and fly to Istanbul from Kayseri.
In the morning we head to Antalya, from where we fly back home. Though those who wish may stay behind to continue their vacation and bask on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea! Dreamy and happy, we return home. After the tour you'll have a boundless sea of impressions – be sure to write your reviews!
To reserve a spot in the group, you need to make a deposit of $50. If you cancel the hike, the money is non-refundable, but it can be transferred to another participant or kept on your "account" for future hikes. The remaining amount can be paid by card transfer (no later than a week before the hike starts) or given to the instructor on the first day of the hike. If you leave the route, the money will not be refunded.
Friends! We kindly ask you to use dollar bills issued in 2003 or later. Bills from the 90s are not accepted in many countries, and we sometimes have issues when settling payments with local partners. Thank you for your understanding, and may you all have new dollars :)

To participate in the program, you need good insurance. Please don't neglect this point. For some participants, it has saved thousands of dollars. You can find our recommendations for arranging insurance here: "Insurance for Kuluar trek participants"
Turkey is a country with a mild subtropical climate. In summer it gets very hot here, so we try to plan our treks for April-May or September-October – this is the best time for trekking in Turkey. During the day the temperature will be +25...+30°C, and at night around +10...+15°C – which is a bit chilly, so it's a good idea to bring a warm sweater with you.
We will stay in double and triple hotel rooms. There is Wi-Fi, a toilet, a shower, and a dining room where the whole company can sit together. Electricity is no problem, and you can charge your electronic devices at any time.
The total amount of additional expenses not included in the price is $200–250. If you'd like to fly on a hot air balloon, prepare an extra $130–150.
*Please note: it is not the consultant's job to arrange an individual flight for each participant. The consultant gives general recommendations based on their experience and shares flight details of other participants so you can fly together. Choosing and purchasing a flight convenient for you is the participant's own responsibility. If you would like the consultant to buy you a plane ticket, book a hotel, or arrange an additional excursion, please check the terms on this page: additional services.
