My very first hike was right away a six-day trip with Kuluar (a trek along the Marmaros ridge). Going on my first hike, I was very nervous about how everything would go, whether I'd be able to handle a heavy backpack, but everything turned out wonderfully and I only have pleasant memories of the trip. Our guide was Anna Mysyshyn, and I want to highlight her professionalism, as well as her good leadership and human qualities. She helped and advised on everything from the very first minutes we met. Pros: there's a transfer from Kyiv; good trip organization; experienced guides, as well as drivers who take us to the start of the route and back; tasty and varied menu that takes into account participants' preferences (if you don't eat certain products, they'll take that into account); a variety of healthy snacks at almost every stop - they really give you energy; they have their own gear rental; participants receive gifts and there's a discount system; over the phone they consult you excellently and answer all your questions. Cons: little written communication with the client before the trip! Going on your first hike, you have a lot of worries and questions, but getting a written answer from the trip manager turned out to be difficult (I want to note that I specifically wrote in the messenger and on Viber to the manager, because I have the same work schedule as Kuluar and can't talk on the phone at work), so I still had to find time and call for a consultation. But overall the trip was super! I recommend this company and I myself want to go on more than one trip with them. 🙂
