My love for the mountains began long before my first hike. I was utterly captivated by photos of snow-capped mountain peaks; I longed to see those landscapes in person, and I wanted to be the one treading the paths to the summit.
So in 2018, I found myself in Georgia, on my first trek through Svaneti. I was completely inexperienced. Back then, I had no idea what it meant to carry a heavy rucksack that dug into my body and made everything ache, or what long treks, steep climbs, no showers and cold nights in a thin sleeping bag were like. That trek was tough for me, but the experience didn’t put me off; it only fuelled my desire to go hiking even more.
Since then, I’ve been living closer to our Carpathian Mountains and have started travelling to the mountains more often – specifically to Nepal, Turkey, Georgia, Italy and France.
I also had the chance to go on a few solo hikes in the Carpathians. It’s an unforgettable experience, being alone with nature and your own anxieties and fears.
Achievements:
- Climbing Mount Kazbek (5,054 m)
- Climbing Mont Blanc (4,806 m)
- Climbing Mount Kachkar (3,937 m)
As well as the mountains, I’m really into running, especially trail running. It allows you to cover a long distance in a relatively short time and take in a wealth of incredible scenery. In one of the trail races, I won a prize as part of a team.
With every trip I gain new experiences, and I’m happy to share them to help you prepare better for your own journey!
