About the Teamleader
Hi! My name is Lilya. Until I was 23 years old, I thought mountains were not my story. Until I met my future husband in South America, who encouraged me to climb an active volcano in Chile. That day was a turning point in my life. Traveling took on a new meaning, I wanted to go where I am mountains, where I am hiking, where there is a challenge.
Since then I have had many treks in different parts of the world - a lot of Europe, North and South America, Asia and of course my native Carpathians. Over the last 10 years my family and I have visited +- 80 countries and in almost every one of them we have gone on at least one trek, climbed at least one peak.
On almost all of our treks, my husband and I take our children with us. We also climbed to Everest Base Camp in 2018 with our daughters, setting a world record at the time. By the way, it was during this trek that I first met the Couloir Club, which is a very symbolic moment for me. Now I live in the USA. I love the wild untouched nature here, and that's why road trips with a focus on national parks are our family hobby.

Given that it was my first visit to Nepal and this region, I had only positive impressions. I really liked the track. The team leader (Liliya Dekos) is a great team leader, we couldn't ask for anything better! Liliya's optimism and energetic perseverance gave the team strength and a positive attitude to move forward with ease every day. The team leader solved all the urgent organisational issues together with the local guide, whether it was a question about accommodation, food or other. Even the evenings after the route were always interesting and filled with board games and conversations, which quickly made us forget about any fatigue. This is undoubtedly the merit of the organisational work of a true team leader, and this is building a positive atmosphere in the team and a person who is open and empathetic, really interested in communicating with the team. The local guide (Jog Bahadurgrg) and porters were professional and kind guys who, in addition to their main duties, helped to solve various issues if necessary. Jog was an interesting and open conversationalist, answering all questions, which was important when you are getting acquainted with new places and culture. Special thanks to Iryna for the informational and organisational preparation for the track, and for timely reminders and all the answers to many questions that arise when planning such a trip, especially for the first time! Taras's webinar about Nepal and preparation was also very useful. Thank you to the Backstage!
