What motivates you not to skip gym classes?💪
For me, it's hiking in the mountains.
I'm always ready to throw on my backpack and set off to see places that cars can't reach.
Fortunately, my children have also fallen in love with active trekking and are happy to accompany me. What's more, my family gave me a tent for my last birthday, so I'm sure there will be more opportunities to connect with nature in my life now.😍
A summer hike in the Carpathians during the children's vacation is becoming a tradition for me.
Last year, Sofia and I went on a children's hike called “Child of the Mountains” organized by Kuluar.
This year, the three of us went with Ilya, so we chose the “adult” program “Lakes of Svidovets” in the Dragobrat area.
Thank you, Kuluar, for the wonderful route! We saw two mountain lakes, Garishaska and Vorozheska, flocks of sheep, incredible views of Dragobrat in summer, and... we found snow! It was snow that hadn't melted yet. The children were overjoyed — they built a snowman in the summer.
I had almost all the equipment I needed for the hike, as this wasn't my first one. Dad repaired the trekking poles, I bought a few hiking accessories, and off we went to get new experiences!
Honestly, I was warned that hiking alone with two children could be difficult. Carrying my own things and most of the children's things seemed like a daunting task, but regular training at the Dragon Sports Club over the past two years has paid off. I won't say it was easy, but it was manageable.
We met up with the group at the Frankivsk train station, where we took a transfer to Yasinya, and then to Dragobrat. It rained heavily during our entire transfer on the first day💦 I was mentally prepared to walk in the pouring rain, but then the rain stopped, leaving the mountains shrouded in fog. The next two days were sunny☀️
We had a good rest, walked thousands of steps, saw the beauty of the mountains, and took a break from people and worries.
When we got home, we took out our map of the Carpathians from Kuluar and marked new peaks and interesting places.
Mountains, see you again!
I train every day so that I can see you again!
