Recently, I was lucky enough to walk part of the fishermen's trail, the Rota Vicentina, which begins in the charming Odenseis. And I still can't forget this feeling of complete harmony with nature. Spring is the perfect time for this trip: the air is fresh, everything is in bloom, the aromas of wild lavender, rosemary and sea breeze mix into an unforgettable symphony of scents.
The trail leads along the Atlantic Ocean, offering incredible views, cliffs, beaches, and wild flowers blooming right under your feet. Sometimes it seems that you are walking on the edge of the world - it is so quiet, calm and beautiful. And what's especially nice is that there are no crowds, just you, nature and waves that never get tired of hitting the shore.
Every day we had a tradition - a royal backpack lunch right on the edge of the world. We would have a real buffet on the ocean shore, with the wind in our hair and sand in our sandwiches. The wine was poured not like a river, but carefully so that the wind would not blow it away, and each wave added a soundtrack to our meal. Some people even joked that after such a service, they didn't want to return to civilization. Where else can you get a snack and a breeze in your face for free?
In the villages along the route, you can always relax, taste fresh fish and a glass of Portuguese wine - generous in taste and warmth, just like the people here. I received so many emotions, peace, and inspiration - this is an experience that will remain in my heart for a long time.
If you dream of a relaxed trip where every step is a pleasure, I recommend it with all my sincerity. Rota Vicentina is more than a route. It is a path to yourself.
