Even as a child, I learnt the ropes of camping and life in the great outdoors; I set off from home several times on solo trips around my village, and then the mountains came into my life – and they’ve been with me ever since. For me, the mountains are a chance to recharge my batteries and find answers to questions I couldn’t answer within the concrete walls of Kyiv. The mountains teach you to listen to yourself, to listen to the silence of the forests and the peaks. The mountains toughen you up and, at the same time, allow you to relax in a way you simply can’t anywhere else. I’ve seen and felt this, and I want the group coming with me to understand it too.
