My love of the mountains began back in my school days — my first two-day hike took place when I was in Year 6. In 2008, I set off on my first multi-day hike, and that was when the mountains really became an important part of my life.
For me, hiking and mountaineering are not just about the summits, but also about the journey to reach them. They bring new challenges, new encounters, moments that stay with you for a long time, and the chance to see familiar things in a slightly different light. The mountains offer a new experience every time, give you strength, and teach you to be more mindful of nature, the people around you, and yourself.
Achievements
- Taking part in treks of difficulty levels 1–2 in the Carpathians and the Crimean Mountains.
- Elbrus (5642 m) — 2012
- Participation in the Mont Blanc (4,808 m) ascent — 2018, without reaching the summit due to weather conditions
- Kazbek (5054 m) — 2019
- Abu Ali ibn Sina Peak (7,134 m) and Yuhina Peak (5,130 m) — 2021
- Matterhorn (4,478 m) — 2025
In addition, there were treks and climbs in the Alps, the Caucasus, the Pamir Mountains, the Himalayas and the Taurus Mountains.
As well as hiking, I have experience of white-water rafting, cycle touring, rock climbing, ice climbing, caving, diving, running and downhill skiing.
For me, the mountains remain a place where there is always something to learn, something to discover for myself, and something to share with others.
