About the Teamleader
Hi, my name is Oleksandr. My love for the mountains began with rock climbing (about 10 years ago), although no - the love began much earlier. Mountains have always fascinated me, with rock climbing started my way to the mountains and it went on. I always tried to spend my free time in the mountains and with a tent. And it's not only hiking: biking, mountaineering and my greatest love and passion is paragliding. Having visited the mountains of the Caucasus (Georgia), the Himalayas (India), Macedonia and of course our native Carpathians, I realized that better than mountains can be mountains in which I have not been yet. Therefore, I invite you to the world of mountains and travel, the world of peace, new discoveries, new acquaintances, understanding (despite all the hardships) that life is beautiful.
Achievements:
Alpine training camp in Chaukhi (Georgia)
Hiked almost all the Carpathians, including winter ones
Paragliding in Colombia, India, Macedonia, and of course the Carpathians (Borzhava, Svydovets, Chornohora)
Prizes at various paragliding competitions
Backcountry snowboarding on Montenegro and many other diverse travels and adventures

A very cool trip. We encountered very strong winds along the route, which added to the pleasant and unusual experience, as it was my first time in such extreme weather conditions. I saw the White Elephant Observatory for the first time in winter. Since I wasn't hiking solo, I felt more confident because there were people I could rely on if necessary. Natalia and Alexander were very cool team leaders.
short
This is the best thing that happened to me in 2025
The decision to go on a winter hike to Hoverla and Petros was completely spontaneous — I had no special plans for New Year's Eve, nor did I want to stay in Kyiv during the holidays, given the constant Russian shelling. A colleague gave me a ride home and mentioned celebrating in the mountains. A few minutes later, I was already searching for “climbing Hoverla in winter.” That's how I came across information about a winter hike in mountain huts.
In the summer of 2025, I didn't take the opportunity to climb Mount Fuji, so I wanted to complete this “mountain gestalt.” The hike turned out to be the best thing that happened to me in 2025.
I always knew about the magical healing properties of mountains, but I didn't know that I needed it so much. So, without any special preparation, I conquered Hoverla. It seemed to me that this was the most difficult thing that happened to me that year (compared to working on the front lines and constant shelling). However, once I had climbed the highest peak in Ukraine, the climb no longer seemed so difficult. We climbed to the top at a temperature of -13, which felt like -30 (!).
This trip gave me the opportunity to be in touch with my body, understand its capabilities and limitations, and disconnect from my worries — both moral and atmospheric.
Now it is easier for me to endure the heat outages in Kyiv because I understand what my body is capable of.
The New Year 2026 celebration turned out to be one of the best in recent years. We had a wonderful warm atmosphere, danced and celebrated until 5 a.m. And we promised to meet again with our team.
This time, the mountain welcomed us and even offered complete visibility.
The views were incredibly beautiful. Seeing the ridge without a single tree and then walking along it for five hours was a special pleasure.
The atmosphere was one of the best I have ever experienced, and Sashko did everything perfectly.
The food that Sashko prepares is a special treat; you should go there just for that. And the sausage and lard with borscht — no words can describe it.
