A week ago our team set off from Base Camp in the direction of the summit of K2 - a large collection of 30 radios (1 million UAH) for 93 OMB "KholodnyiYar".
The way to the first camp of 5 rads went quickly enough and without adventures. We went out on the Abrutsky ridge and slept overnight. However, further up the mountain and gathering prepared for us a real test.
The weather worsened, there were fewer donuts, a strong wind began, and visibility dropped to near zero. My fingers and toes went numb, the balance on the bank rose very slowly. Ahead of us waited one of the key points on the entire mountain - Chimney House, the most difficult vertical rock steps.
We gathered our will into a fist and drove to Bakhmut. We began to pass the House Fireplace. Near us there were loud bumps, stones from the mountain whistled a few meters to the left and then to the right. My body numbed with the cold and horror of what we saw. Burnt buildings, like last year's ropes, were not a reliable safety net. But there was no choice, the guys on the front lines were even harder.
The sudden donation of 60,000 UAH from Dmitry was like an oxygen tank for us. The second breath opened, the orders went to "hello" on the mines and we saw the tents of the second camp - 10 radios (300,000).
We decided not to linger and went straight to the third camp, but were faced with a new challenge - in front of us, covering the sky, hung the famous Black Pyramid.
We stopped, took out thermoses and energy bars. We were saving our strength for the next rush!
So, step by step, looking for new options we reached our destination. But we, just like the guys on the front line, cannot do it without support.
