Hi friends, read the latest news of our expedition to Everest and Lhotse. Taras Pozdnii sent word in anticipation of good weather for the ascent.
As we wrote earlier, on May 11 the participants attempted to climb Everest and Lhotse, but because of the strong wind in the high altitude camps they had to retreat. After that they went down to the green zone in Deboche, where they rested for a few days.

The storm of the summits was planned for 20-22.05. But the closer to the dates, the worse the forecast was. The wind was expected to be no lower than 35km/hr. At the altitude above 8000m it was too much as the risk of frostbite increased. Therefore it was decided to wait further.
In general the weather on Everest was unlucky this year. Because of the typhoon in the Indian Ocean it appeared to be very changeable and windy during the whole May. According to the Sherpas, who have many years of experience on the mountain, this season was the worst in many years.

According to the forecasts, which are available today, the wind will begin to subside on May 26, but the next day should fall to a meter of snow, which again makes the ascent impossible. Therefore now the ascent is tentatively planned for May 29 - on this day should be sunny and windless. The guys update the weather forecast every hour and correct their plans according to it.
We wish our climbers more patience and together with them we are waiting for the good weather!
