Hi all, we are eager to share the latest news from Taras Pozdnii from Nepal. Read about the events of the last days and the plans to summit the 8-thousanders!
Participants of the expedition finished their acclimatization on the 3rd of May. Before that they had spent three nights in Everest's Camp 2 at the altitude of 6490m and got to Everest's Camp 3 (770m). Initially it was planned to fly from Everest Base Camp to Namche Bazar by helicopter after acclimatization, but there was no suitable weather for three days, so we decided to walk.

The guys descended to the village of Deboche at an altitude of 3,750 m to recover in comfortable conditions. There is delicious food, heated beds, hot showers and, most importantly, a forest area with undisturbed air, which is very important for recovery from high altitude.
We returned to Base Camp a little earlier than planned: on May 9. Such haste was caused by the weather forecast for the coming days. The window of weather on the 8,000m is expected before May 15, and this is a good chance to climb the summits before the line of climbers appears on the slopes (20th of May).
So, in the night from 10 to 11 of May the participants of Everest and Lhotse groups will go to Camp 2, and the next day they will ascend to Camp 3. There they will check the weather forecast, because many things can change during 2 days. If the forecast is favorable, they will continue climbing the summits. If not - they will go down to the base camp and wait for the next weather window.
