This tour has become one of the most exciting adventurous experiences of my life. Seven days of sheer delight: majestic waterfalls, lava fields, various beaches, glaciers, geysers and hot springs.

Tour organization and car camper
Many thanks to our team leader Andriy Kharatin, who monitored the forecast throughout the trip and adjusted our route to the weather conditions, created a great atmosphere in the group, told interesting facts about the places and the country, helped with all domestic issues and dealt with incidents.
The camper van was quite comfortable, with enough beds, a portable gas stove, built-in shelves so that food would not fly around the car while driving, a refrigerator and heater (which was very useful at night), Wi-Fi internet, and the ability to recharge gadgets on the road.

Route and impressions
In a week we traveled around the entire southern part of the island, visiting the most beautiful places:
The Golden Ring - Gullufoss Waterfall, Strokkur Geyser, and Thingvellir National Park. It is amazing how nature creates such spectacular and diverse phenomena.
The southern coast is a black beach with huge powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean and basalt columns and the incredible Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon, where we met the local fauna in the form of seals.
It was a very exciting sight to see them hunting and playing!

The lava fields surrounding the main road, covered with moss, reminded me of the mystical worlds of The Lord of the Rings, and seemed to call me to go hiking with Frodo.
The blue lagoon with its hot sky-white mineral water, excellent service, and contrasting with the color of the water was the black frozen lava around it, which got here during the eruption in November 2024.
Reykjavik - which surprised with its museums and architecture.

Lifehacks for traveling
Clothing - Iceland is very unpredictable, so the three-layer system is your best friend. Thermal underwear, a fleece or down layer, and a membrane jacket that protects from wind and rain, and a raincoat on top.
Shoes - hiking boots, preferably waterproof. There were many places where you had to walk on marshy, sandy, wet or slippery terrain.
Trekking poles - given that there was not much trekking, there was no need for poles, but if you plan to go deep into the island, be sure to take them.

Conclusions
This trip will always remain in my heart. The beauty of Iceland is fascinating, and traveling by campervan gives you a feeling of complete freedom of action.
Many thanks to Kuluar and our team leader, Andriy, for the organization, service, cool stories, as well as to my new friends and acquaintances - without you this adventure would not have been so fun and informative.
I hope to come back here and follow the hiking route that Coulouard leads and see the central and northern sides of Iceland.
If you dream of seeing wildlife, enjoying hot springs, walking around glaciers and watching volcanoes rise on the horizon, let Coulouard organize this dream come true and go on a trip to Iceland.
