I want to give special thanks to our guide Oleksandr. This is one of those cases where you can feel great experience, but without an overly authoritative tone or pressure. There was no feeling that you were being rushed all the time and had to hurry somewhere. On the contrary, the pace was comfortable and the atmosphere very calm. Along the way Oleksandr kept telling interesting stories and sharing facts about the area. It's really cool that he knows the local shepherds and cheesemakers: we could leave our backpacks with people he knows and walk to the lake at ease, and at the cheese huts we were treated to cheese everywhere. Little things like that create a completely different hiking experience.
The food deserves special delight 😄. Honestly, I have never eaten so well on a hike. A very varied menu, everything well thought out and nourishing. You could see that Oleksandr didn't just hand out food but made sure everyone ate properly: he reminded us and checked that nobody was left hungry. It really felt like care. The same with everyday matters. As soon as we arrived at the overnight spot, he immediately explained where it was best to pitch the tents, what to keep in mind, where the water was and where everything was. If anyone needed help, he always helped. He answered all questions about the route calmly and in detail, and the safety briefing was very clear. Overall, the whole hike left very warm impressions. It was interesting, comfortable and, which is especially important to me, safe. I enjoyed it enormously and would definitely be happy to go on many more hikes with Oleksandr.
